Development and Implementation of Energy Savings and Energy Management Methodology in an Industrial Enterprise

Architectural expression of residential buildings in energy-efficient housing
Gerö, Jiří ; Peřinková, Martina (referee) ; Wahla, Ivan (referee) ; Ing.arch.Henrich Pifko (referee) ; Meixner, Miloslav (advisor)
These days create an enormous pressure on energy savings because of their high prices. For future it is obvious that their prices will grow. Not only the representatives of European Union realize this fact, but basicaly common people who run their houses and pay the bills. For this reason low - energy houses respectively passive houses are in the limelight. Reasons of economy should not be the only criterion of quality, but its integral part, one of several components. Energy efficient housing is a response in architecture and building to turbulent global warming. The aim of the work is try to specify how to conceive an efficient building with respect to its architectural quality in the contect of directions coming from European Union and which should be implemented soon in the Czech republic. Will zero house become driving force of architecture in Europe in 21st century? The result of the work will be useful in orientation how to conceive an efficient house with respect to its aesthetical quality.
Study of energy consumption reduction of block of flats
Svoboda, Lukáš ; Šteffek, Libor (referee) ; Ostrý, Milan (advisor)
The goal of the thesis is firstly to get all the information about the initial state of solved block of flats, which is located on the street Merhautova 76/954 in Brno – Černá pole, in terms of constructions, energy consumption and initial state of heating system. In the second part of the thesis, where are discussed the possibilities of reduction of energy consumption, variant drafts of reduction of energy consumption and their financial costs and the choice of optimal variant. Third part deals with assement of solved block of flats in terms of sustainable built environment by using tool to rate buildings in terms of sustainable built environment - SBToolCZ, evaluation of possibility to use renewables. In the end are written summaries and recommendations.
Mammalian energetic savings in subterranean environment. The case of African mole-rats.
OKROUHLÍK, Jan
Mole-rats are placental mammals which are perfectly adapted to subterranean life. In this thesis I present novel findings on working metabolism and thermoregulatory physiology of mole-rats. These animals cope with low availability of food and have thus employed multiple strategies how to conserve energy and/or use it more effectively. Among other adaptations this resulted in lower resting body temperature, tolerance to increase in body temperature during exercise or while at rest, surprisingly efficient cooling while digging and precise diurnal and seasonal timing of activity with regards to environmental conditions. My focus in this work is on the digging metabolic rate and thermoregulation of social Fukomys mechowii and solitary Heliophobius argenteocinereus in soft and hard substrate, thermoregulatory abilities of Fukomys darlingi, seasonal changes of activity in free living Heliophobius argenteocinereus measured as daily energy expenditure and, finally, energetic consequences of the daily activity patterns of Fukomys anselli.
Marketing of the company mediating energetic savings
Jančík, Jan ; Král, Petr (advisor) ; Vávra, Oldřich (referee)
This diploma thesis outlines how a company doing business in mediation of energy savings could efficiently integrate marketing into its activities. The theoretical part defines the differences between marketing of services and introduces concepts that are later on used for analyzing of the target company. The practical part is focusing on examining of macro surroundings through PEST analysis and in examination of micro surroundings all the involved stakeholders that may substantially affect the functioning of the company are identified. Then the closest competition is revealed and its strengths are inspected in order to form recommendations of activities that should be integrated within the company's portfolio. These findings are then confronted with the objectives of observed company in the SWOT matrix and on its basis a marketing mix is created including the proposed tactical tools.
Benefits of Cohesion Policy for reducing energy consumption in the Czech Republic
Yonová, Kateřina ; Šumpela, Vít (advisor) ; Novotný, Tomáš (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the evaluation of the benefit of cohesion policy to reduce energy consumption and preserve an attractive environment in the Czech Republic. The aim is to determine the spatial distribution and allocation of approved financial resources from fields of support related to energy savings. The primary focus is on the Operational Programme Environment - priority axis Sustainable Use of Energy and the Operational Programme Enterprise and Innovation --priority axis Energy Efficient, which are subjects of the analysis. In conclusion is summarized current information about the form of future cohesion policy after 2013.
Approach to usage of computer workstations considering the aspect of their energy demands
Řeháček, Jakub ; Gála, Libor (advisor) ; Pavlíček, Luboš (referee)
This thesis deals with possibilities of a personal computer energy savings through human interaction. .It considers available technologies and draw from commonly known users' habits and maladies. It tries to focus on users' view, identify the aspects of interaction with the computer, which represents the place for energy conservation. Thesis presumes to outline patterns in behavior, applicable to individuals and to corporate environment. Thesis arrange in layers basic thoughts of users' view and tries to consider the details of users' habits to be able to bring a concrete suggestions how to improve approach to usage of personal computers with the effect of lower energy consumption. At first thesis defines commonly known global problems which come with the usage of personal computers. It does not consider the hardware side of the problem. It outlines the most often problems, which are being done by users and it brings summary of solutions, which are described in partial sections of the thesis. At the end it consists of case study of DHL ITSC Prague s.r.o., on which it shows possible financial savings.
