Improvement of power efficiency of co-generation units
Pokorný, Vojtěch ; Škorpík, Jiří (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
In this masters thesis are discusses the possibilities of increasing the electrical efficiency of cogeneration units with an internal combustion engine with the power output 800 kWe. Technical and economical aspect the connection with steam turbine, steam engine and ORC turbine is compared. It include the design of heat exchanger for ORC cycle.
Increasing of electricity production in BGS using ORC cycle
Beck, Michal ; Baláš, Marek (referee) ; Lisý, Martin (advisor)
Objective of this Master’s thesis is to make search about generation and use biogas, with focus on cogeneration and to make search about possibilities of increasing the share of production of electricity by cogeneration from biogas. This final work has also the task to summarize possibilities of increasing the share with ORC cycle and to evaluate pros and cons of this use. Main part of this work is dealing with own design of increasing production of electricity with cogeneration from biogas in biogas station with ORC cycle and comparing this modification with steam engine.
Increasing of electricity production in BGS using steam engine
Nahodil, Jiří ; Baláš, Marek (referee) ; Lisý, Martin (advisor)
This thesis deals with the possibilities of using waste heat for power generation with a focusing on biogas plants (BGS). The produced biogas is mainly used for combustion in cogeneration units with internal combustion piston engines. The first part this paper describes the biogas plants. The division of BGS and the biogas processing is mentioned there. Another part is focused on the combined production of electricity and heat. The principles and description various types of cogeneration technologies are presented here. The following are specific options for waste heat utilization for biogas plants. The last section contains proposals to increase electricity production by the BGS with the steam engine and economic evaluation of these proposals is made.
Biomass Heating Power Plant
Hrubý, Vojtěch ; Pospíšil, Jiří (referee) ; Fiedler, Jan (advisor)
The content of this dissertation is to utilize foundations of heat consumption in Velký Karlov and to propose and replace the main district heating plant into the heating plant which uses biomass as its fuel. With techno-economic evaluation of the annual operating central heating plant evaluate the suitability of using a steam turbine or steam engine. The proposal for a steam turbine is chosen by the preliminary calculation. There are showed suitable possibilities of working and its evaluation considered to return period.
Piston steam engine
Hrbáček, Jaroslav ; Novotný, Zdeněk (referee) ; Fiedler, Jan (advisor)
Object of this document is possibility of using piston steam engine (later only SE) in steam boiler plant, heating plant and steam reduction station. There is implemented a thermodynamic suggestion of SE for defined parameters of mechanical power 20 kW, frequency 1500 cpm, input steam pressure 1,5 MPa and warmth inside steam condenser 105 °C. There are implemented the main construction segments of SE with a view to steam distribution system. For determine a shape of work diagram SE (p-V diagram), there was created a supportive programme in Excel. The programme serves as the basis of determination of motor stroke volume and basis of determination of main dimensions.
Solutions for using micro cogeneration in places where are not primarily available gas or liquid fuels
Kubínek, Martin ; Štelcl, Otakar (referee) ; Vojáčková, Jitka (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis deals with the usage of micro cogeneration units in the places where gas and liquid fuels are not primarily available. In the research part, the available technologies and the current condition of the market of micro cogeneration units, which use solid fuels, especially biomass, are described. In the technical-economical part, there is a design of the specific unit whose thermal output corresponds to the thermal rated loss of the chosen building. The payback period of the unit with a gasifier and with a combustion engine is estimated in the cases when the chosen building is currently heated by: lignite, wooden chips, electricity and the combination of natural gas and coke.
Micro-cogeneration
Štukavec, Karel ; Škorpík, Jiří (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
The topic of this bachelor‘s thesis is microcogeneration for single family houses. The work consists of two main parts. The first part includes division, technical description, commercial use, energy sources, advantages and disadvantages of microgenerational units. The second part talks about technical-economical assessement of microgeneration units with combustion engine and fuel cell.
Usage exhaust gas in combustion engine for improvment engine quality
Fusek, Petr ; Drápal, Lubomír (referee) ; Rasch, František (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis contains information on how to use exhaust gas of engines. It describe the usage of kinetic and thermic energy of exhaust gas which is taken from the engine without any usage. This study includeds basic technical parameters and descriptions of giving analysis and their usage in practice. This bachelor´s thesis assesses theoretical possibilities of exhaust gas and their occurence and structure
Technological solution of biomass power station with steam engine.
Pleban, Jakub ; Lisý, Martin (referee) ; Škorpík, Jiří (advisor)
This work describes function and main parts of a heat plant burning biomass. The work is thematically divided into five parts. In the first part there are presented possible sorts of energy which are suitable for generating both electric and heat energy. The second part of the work describes basic principles of the plant functioning. The third part which relates to the second one is focused on the given technologic scheme of the plant. The fourth part closely analyses a function of a steam piston engine and its main components. In the last part there is assessed the actual situation in the field of heating plants in the Czech republic.
Piston steam engine
Potměšil, Tomáš ; Fiedler, Jan (referee) ; Novotný, Zdeněk (advisor)
The thesis is concerned with posibility of using piston steam engine in minor local steam boiler plants and steam reduction stations. Shortly describes a history of steam engines, analyses and explains positives and negatives of different control gear conceptions and then a 3D model of selected conception is formed. Mainly there is implemented a thermodynamic proposal of steam engine for defined parameters of mechanical power 25 kW, frequency 1500 rpm, input steam pressure 1,5 MPa. Main dimensions of engine parts are determined. Lastly the work compares differences between piston steam engine and single-stage steam turbine and in principle reasons advantages of steam engine in reduction station.
