Intervention in Afghanistan: Soviet and American experience
Tzoumas, Janis ; Matějka, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Knotková, Vladimíra (referee)
This diploma thesis analyzes the approach of the Soviet Union and that of the US-led coalition to state-building in Afghanistan, which today, as in the past, takes place against the backdrop of counterinsurgency warfare. The analysis in the field of politics, economy and security shows that in both cases the intervening powers have focused on building a strongly centralized system of government, in spite of the fact that the Afghan countryside's relationship to the Kabul-based government had traditionally been characterized by broad autonomy. The intervening powers' efforts have futhermore been associated with the export of exogenous political structures and for this reason attention is also drawn to the question to what extent the intervening powers' approach to the modernization of Afghan society has contributed to the escalation of unrelenting conflict.

VOSTROVSKÁ, Marika
This thesis deals with awareness of teachers in mainstream elementary schools in the South Bohemian Region about autism and autistic spectrum disorders. The thesis is divided into four basic chapters followed by discussion and conclusion. The first chapter of the thesis focuses on theoretical background of autism and autistic spectrum disorders. The second chapter deals with the topic of autism and ASD in the school environment, including possibility of intervention. Chapter 3 and 4 include methodological part of the thesis. Chapter 3 focuses on quantitative research of awareness of teachers on this issue, as well as their needs and experience. South Bohemian teachers demonstrated their knowledge, attitudes and experience regarding autism and ASD in a short questionnaire and a knowledge quiz. Chapter 4 applies a qualitative method and provides an analysis of the interview, which was carried out with two teachers who work with students with autism or ASD in mainstream primary school. The base of the quantitative research was a questionnaire for teachers, which main purpose was to measure awareness and basic orientation in the problem of autism. Knowledge quiz focused on detailed investigation of knowledge base of autism and ASD among teachers concerned. This thesis established five main hypotheses with subhypotheses that have been tested in several respects, especially length of teaching experience, specific training of respondents, school size and previous experience with autistic students. Extensive testing has supported six sub-hypothesis, which show that the awareness is influenced by place (namely school size) and that previous experience strongly supports a positive attitude towards the integration. In the same way, experience with students with autism showed a higher interest on additional training in these issues. The qualitative part of the thesis analyses the interview with two particular teachers who work every day with students with autism and autism spectrum disorders. The thesis explores their particular experience with autistic pupils, their knowledge and education, but also the problems and needs these teachers have in communication with pupils.

For implementation dates´collection was used qualitative research. It was realised by method interrogation by using technology semistructured dialog. Three videocoaches were chosen through criterion technology from research file. These three videocoaches ( deal with social work with family in Central Bohemia District). And my own family was chosen, too. Dates´collection was carried into effect in April and in August in 2014y. Research part consist of dialogues with videocoaches, particular answers I compiled into schematic diagrams and clear tabulars because of better clarity. I realized own experience through cycle of video of common situations in my family including analysis. I recapilutated acquired informations and answers for research problems in debate. Through executed research I found out possibility of using and utilization method VTI during social care with family in its home environment, at schools, in special pedagogical centers, during early care, during fostering, during critical help, in correctional facilities, in homes for elderly, in shelter homes and in other social and medical furnishing. Videocoaches have experiences with this that in Czech Republic is method VTI used predominantly only in institutions and establishments. Through VTI videocoaches help families with educational problems and pedagogical problems and social problems and (as well as critical), medical (physical as well as psychical) from newborn period to the elderly of man. Benefit of method according to videocoaches is in this that peacefully, very distinctly, fast and client himself will understand his experienced formulas of behaviour. He did not perceive these formulas formerly. I fond out through my own experience that method is really purposeful and effective. I confirm grade and benefit of method VTI. I tested fact beyond researchthat VTI is in Czech Republic known a little and used method. For underprivileged and disabled inhabitants is this method not only absolutely unknown but as well as financially unvailable. This visual and peaceful method would be benefit during their integration. Method that is oriented for client and it would be often prevention of social exclusion. Anticipated using of findings would be good utilize as in information source quite for area of social care with family and for general public.

Rehabilitation treatment of patients with severe movement disorders
STEINBAUEROVÁ, Iveta
Current status: The numbers of patients with some sort of movement disorder (mostly caused by genetic load, unhealthy lifestyle, falls and collapses, carelessness during sport activities and also car crashes) grows every year and the rehabilitative treatment becomes increasingly important. Subject: The objective of this study is to determine whether nursing staff actively approach rehabilitative treatment care according to the development and improvement of the patients mobility. Following four hypotheses were defined to achieve the objectives. H1: rehabilitative treatment treatment of patients with severe movement disorders is conducted in a multidisciplinary team. H2: The effectiveness of the treatment is continuously recorded in the nursing documentation. H3: Nursing management inspects the rehabilitations treatment. H4: The nursing staff plan their rehabilitative treatment actions according to the progress and improvement of the patients' condition. Methodics: To ensure the data required for this bachelor thesis, was used a quantitative research survey using questionnaires. The questionnaire consisted of several parts and was composed of 30 questions, which were later used for identification of the respondents and subsequently to confirm or refute the hypotheses. A total of 60 questionnaires were distributed (100%) with a 88% return rate. For further data analysis was then used 53 (100%) questionnaires. Participants: The survey was answered by nurses employed in the inpatient physiotherapeutic wards of the following hospitals: Nemocnice České Budějovice a.s., Nemocnice Tábor a.s., Nemocnice Písek a.s., Nemocnice Havlíčkův Brod, Městská nemocnice Plzeň Privamed a.s. and Institute of Oncology and Physical Rehabilitation Na Pleši s.r.o. Nurses filled the survey voluntarily, anonymously and with approval of the Directors of nursing and head nurses. Results: The research part was focused on collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. The answers indicate that the nursing staff collaborate with all team members (see grafh no. 23). Mostly, they cooperate with physiotherapist (100%) and with physician (96%). Also 96% of respondents admitted they cooperates with other nurses (see graph no. 24). The hypothesis was confirmed. One of the other objectives was the question of regular and continuous recording of the documentation. This hypothesis was also confirmed according to the obtained data: nursing staff regularly updates the progress into the documentation during their shift each day (see graph no. 18). Most nurses (90%) make records into the general nursing documentation, but there is one health facility in my list of participants with specialised physical rehabilitation documentation. According to the data received from survey, nursing management performs inspections of the rehabilitative treatment (see graph no. 25). Checks are performed by head nurses or ward nurses. In most cases the inspections take place at regular intervals or at random without notice. Thus, this hypothesis was also confirmed. Last surveyed areas was whether nursing staff plan their treatment interventions based on development of the patients' condition. Of the 53 nurses, 85% of them reported that they plan their intervention based of the patients' progress (see graph no. 16). The most commonly used interventions are positioning, education about self-sufficiency and mobility aids. The hypothesis was confirmed. Conclusion: The obtained results show that all of my hypotheses were confirmed and objective of this thesis fulfilled. In case of interest, the results of this research may be provided to all personnel responsible for quality assurance of provided healthcare and to head and ward nurses of all participating facilities as well. Results of this thesis may be provided also to students interested in this issue.
