Laser Plotter for Cutting Steel Plates
Dokulil, Marek ; Šimek, Václav (referee) ; Crha, Adam (advisor)
This diploma thesis is divided into two main parts. The first section is dedicated to the history and development of the laser technology. The second part describes all individual types of laser technology which are used in the industry nowadays. The next section follows with the research of various laser devices which serve mainly as a cutting tool. This knowledge gathered in the previous part was used to create the next part including the own conception of the machine. The second half of this diploma thesis deals with a research of software available at the market today. Eventually, after summarizing the characteristics of each software, the new concept and implementation of own software are made. In the final section, there are mentioned the possible extension and available upgrades. The reader should be able to create his/her own conception of the laser device and software after reading and understanding this paper.

The experimental part deals with the roughness measurement of stainless steel samples cut by a fiber laser and statistical evaluation of influence of process parameters (pressure, speed and power) on the kerf roughness in regard of ČSN-EN-ISO 9013.
Study of cutting defects in flame cutting of limit thickness of carbon steel by fiber laser
Králík, Petr ; Hála, Michal (referee) ; Mrňa, Libor (advisor)
This thesis deals with research of cutting defects at laser cutting of 15 mm thick carbon steel by Bystronic fiber laser with emphasis on wide cutting gap, which causes enlargement of wide of cutting gap and deterioration of roughness of cutting edge and increase of creation fo heat. The introduction describes the main types of lasers used for cutting sheet of metal and compare their advantages and disadvantages. Also described is a cutting process and its parameters, and also the possible cutting defects. An experiment was conducted on steels S355MC and S235JR and cutting defects were analyzed in relation to the set of cutting parameters. Next part determines the extent of the recommended parameters that should be chosen for specific cutting conditions and is balanced recommendations regarding the choice of material to be cut, and technological adaptations parts. In the last part is measured roughness of a wide cutting gap, the width of the heat affected zone and micro-hardness of the material.
Evaluation the properties of the cutting edge in fusion and flame cutting by solid state lasers
Dočekal, Miroslav ; Berka, Roman (referee) ; Mrňa, Libor (advisor)
The thesis compares oxidation and fusion laser cutting methods in the production of sheet components called Trager consoles. Individual methods of laser cutting are compared in terms of achieved quality and properties of cutting areas. Consequently, the effect of these properties on consecutive technological operations, which are mainly threading and pressing the nuts into components, are evaluated. In the experimental part of the thesis the roughness of cut surfaces was measured and the cuts were classified into quality classes according to the ČSN EN ISO 9013 standard. Metallographic samples were taken in order to measure hardness and determine its course in the direction from the cutting edge into the material. The metallographic samples were further used for capturing detailed images on the microscope and assessing the quality of nuts pressing. Afterwards, the cut moments affecting taps were measured in order to verify the impact of cutting edge properties on threading. These measurements provided sufficient data for comparing the influence of cutting edge properties in individual methods of laser cutting on consecutive operations. Finally, individual methods were compared in terms of production costs. According to all the data and the conclusions reached, fusion method was identified as the most suitable method of laser cutting for components manufacturing.

Unconventional methods of welding of wrought magnesium alloys
Klimčáková, Kateřina ; Mrňa, Libor (referee) ; Doležal, Pavel (advisor)
Master's thesis deals with consideration possibility of conventional and unconvetional welding methods of wrought magnesium alloys. Methods of Friction Stir Welding, Pulsed Nd:YAG laser and Continuous Fiber laser was used to join magnesium alloy sheets AZ31, AZ61, ZE10 and ZE41. For studying influence of processing parameters on microstructure and mechanical properties were used methods of light microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, tensile tests and microhardness measurements. The results of tensile tests show that from the point of view of keeping ultimate tensile strength is the best methods for welding magnesium alloys Friction Stir Welding. Compared with Nd:YAG laser, fiber laser give better properties of welds. From comparing microstructure and mechanical properties . It wasn't found publications about Friction Stir Welding of magnesium ZE alloys or about FSW sheets with thickness only 0,8 mm and 1,6 mm.
