Bachelor thesis deals with the design and construction of D/A converter used in the area of audio signals with digital interface SPDIF. In the theoretical part of the thesis the design of block structure of the D/A converter module is included with assumption on realization by receiver of the digital signal Cirrus Logic CS8414 and D/A converter CS4334. In the practical part of the thesis the detailed wiring scheme of D/A converter, printed circuit board design, parts layout and construction design for implementation are presented. In the experimental part of the thesis the functionality of the D/A converter is tested and verified including the measurement results. Measured results are presented in the form of standard protocol. D/A converter can be used as stand alone module and connected to CD or DVD player. At the converter outputs audio amplifier and speakers can be connected.
Implementation of software radio into FPGA
Šrámek, Petr ; Maršálek, Roman (referee) ; Prokeš, Aleš (advisor)
The common objective of this project is implementation of software defined radio (SDR) into FPGA. The text contains review and comparison of several hardware concepts intended for SDRs implementation then the methods for digital implementation of various components of radios as the filters, mixers and others are mentioned. Part of the text introduces used hardware platform and describes software support for designing, simulations and implementation into hardware. Significant part of project describes complex of external hardware components as filter, amplifier and control panel designed and built within the project realization. But the main part of project demonstrates design of the software solution of radio receiver. There is specified architecture of radio for FM broadcast receiving, next the more complex systems with carrier recovery algorithm are presented. These systems are able to work with AM, BPSK and QPSK modulations. It is possible to implement all these receivers into hardware and verify their operation. The practical laboratory theme has been outlined within the project run.
Design of current-steering DAC for differential IQ decoder
Klein, Miroslav ; Šotner, Roman (referee) ; Dřínovský, Jiří (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with design of two channel digital to analog converter for automotive applications. In first part, different topologies of D/A converters and their properties are discussed, with focus on current steering topology. Second part deals with design of convertor topology and current steering application. In third part, all parts of designed convertor are described and simulations results are presented. The designed two channel D/A converter has differential current output with 11b resolution per channel.
Audio D/A converter used for laboratory measurements
Abrman, Milan ; Stifter,, Jiří (referee) ; Kratochvíl, Tomáš (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is design stereo digital to analog convertor for school laboratory usage. Scope of the thesis covers the design of all the functional units: input signal circuit, S/PDIF receiver, D/A converter, high quality analog output stage with active low pass filter. Thesis also cover design of all control and indicating parts containing microcontroller with control parts, alphanumeric OLED display and setting indicators.
Implementation of the I2S Driver into the Freescale MQX RTOS
Možný, Karel ; Hynčica, Ondřej (referee) ; Kučera, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis deals with design and development of a I2S module driver for real-time operating system MQX running on a ColdFire V4 architecture based processor. Further there are presented circuit diagrams and PCBs created for testing of functions and properties of the driver. Signal input is a digital audio in form of S/PDIF interface, output is an analogue signal, that can be listened by the means of a headphone amplifier. The conclusion describes a sample application demonstrating function of the driver on developed hardware.
Simulator of voltage output 0-10V
Mačišák, Martin ; Baštán, Ondřej (referee) ; Bradáč, Zdeněk (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the design of the voltage output simulator in range of 0-10 V with microcontroller. The part of my bachelor's thesis is theoretical outline of whole system, draft of this system and draft of source. Further creation of wiring diagrams and PCB. Fitting of PCB and programming. This thesis checks up the functionality of the draft and also of whole system. Next outputs are compare with required outputs. Literary research is integral to my bachelor's thesis.
General purpose analog signal converter
Strážnický, Martin ; Povalač, Aleš (referee) ; Kubíček, Michal (advisor)
This work deals with the design of a galvanically isolated converter of continuous analog signals and the design of a galvanically separated converter of digital TTL signals to HTL signals. The device is complemented by a STM32 microprocessor, which ensures the connection of analog input and output. The result of the work is the circuit structure of individual units, the results of simulations of important units, complete data for the production of device and measured values of individual units.
Adaptable video A/D converter
Maňas, Stanislav ; Hála, Ondřej (referee) ; Říčný, Václav (advisor)
Master's Thesis deals with the complete proposal of light adaptability A/D converter. In the second chapter there are describes types of sensors. Third one describes the most used methods of light adaptability. In the fourth chapter there is describe the adaptability A/D conversion. Chapter 5 describes the block diagram. In the sixth chapter there is the design of all blocks of A/D converter. Finally in the chapter 7 there are construction documents for realization.
Control Systems
Vala, Jiří ; Konvalina, Jiří (referee) ; Kunovský, Jiří (advisor)
The MSc Thesis deals with real-time modelling, especially with the control circuits, where we focus on the regulation circuit with auxiliary model of the regulated system. The introduction contains the Theory of Controls and regulation. The work is divided into two basic parts. The first part deals with the problems from the theoretical point of view. The theoretical part is concerned with the general systems. Various definitions of systems, their partition and mathematical methods for their description are mentioned after introducing. A description the regulation circuits, their partition, structures and types follows. There are shown the particular regulators and different types of regulated systems in details. Mathematical methods applied to solve the differential equations that describe the models of the systems are summarized in the second part of the work. The end of this chapter is concerned with the TKSL system. In the practical part I have produced Microsoft Power Point program which summarizes the results of experiments, made in the TKSL and TKSL/C system. The output of simulation was transformed into the graphs in the format of Microsoft Excel. The last part deals with suggestion and implementation simulators of control circuits.
Digital AM / FM transmitter
Kováč, Marek ; Strašil, Ivo (referee) ; Pavelka, Ondřej (advisor)
This master thesis is focused on the theoretical description and practical implementation of software defined transmitter. The main aim of this thesis was made the prototype of software defined transmitter in FM band. Theoretical part is determined to description of basic parts of equipment and working principles to understand the basic principle of digital transmitters and define the appropriate component base for construction. Discussed are used types of A/D and D/A converters, blocks of digital signal processing and the roles, which these components performs. The second part is focused practical. Specified are suitable types of components and block diagram is proposed for following electrical connection and printed circuit board in Eagle program as a plug-in modul for developmental platform Arduino. The main point is program, which sets and controls the transmitter. Next important part is impedance match and antenna tuning, which is explain in practical part of thesis. The result is prototype of software defined transmitter compatible with Arduino Uno platform.
