Violence as a manifestation of criminal activities of juveniles
GRAMETBAUEROVÁ, Tereza
Aggression and inclination to violent behaviour inhere in every one of us, not excepting children and juveniles. It is important to realize what aggression and violence are, and why and how they arise so that we are able to understand, control and explain the behaviour. When committed by juveniles, this behaviour is much more serious since juveniles, as persons who are not mature yet, often do not realize incurred consequences. The causes of violent behaviour are hidden in particular in their vicinity, in the environment in which they grow up and shape up. Thus it is very important to work with juveniles in order to prevent their violent behaviour. However, if the work is inefficient, a legal regulation not forgetting juveniles is needed. In rather serious cases it intervenes and attempts to remove incurred damage and prevent recurrence of unlawful conduct. The objective of the research was to examine and confront violent criminal activities committed by juveniles and adults. A qualitative method was used to obtain the results. It was a method of a directed interview with the respondents working in the criminality section, competent to speak about the issue due to their expert knowledge and experience. The purpose of the work was to ascertain features and manifestations of violent criminal activities of juveniles and adults. Subsequently, these groups were compared in order to reveal existing conformities and differences that were disclosed in a part of the interviews. The objective of the work was fulfilled. For confirmation or invalidation of the hypotheses that were raised in the part titled Discussion it would be suitable to interview a larger number of respondents.

The up-to-date civilization has brought, expect for further changes, also a very principal change that presents a substantial increase of psychic and psychiatric disorders. That is why it is necessary to think about the question how to prevent aggression and violence in medical facilities. It is evidenced that more cases of patients showing aggressive and violent behaviour occur nowadays. What are preventive news in occurrence of aggression while hospitalization? What are legal news and standards applied to limiting and restrictive means? It is not a rule any more that we meet a patient with aggressive or violent behaviour only in psychiatric departments. However, we can meet those patients in any departments and facilities of healthcare. The Diploma Work is split into a theoretical and a practical section. Further on, we mention kinds of restrictive measures, their indications and the statutory framework dealing with this problem area. A status of nurse and a nurse competence in that area represent an important element of the theoretic work. Four objectives were set in the practical part of the Work. The first goal was aimed to find out work fastidiousness of nurse providing care to patients with aggressive and violent behaviour. The second goal had to recognise what was taken for the greatest problem area within nursing care at treatment of patients with aggressive and violent behaviour. The third goal was to find out any benefits and shortages in the application of restrictive agents at treatment of patients with aggressive and violent behaviour. Finally, the fourth goal was set to find out and compare nursing staff?s opinions on the application of restrictive agents and main problems in that field. The above objectives were met. Based on those objectives research questions were defined. What is the work fastidiousness of nurses who take care of patients with violent and aggressive behaviour? What is considered by the nurses as the most problem area within providing healthcare to aggressive patients? What is the positive application of restrictive agents with patients showing aggressive or violent behaviour? What special reform should be performed in the application of restrictive - limiting means? The asked questions were answered. A qualitative investigation was used to work out the Diploma Work. Collection of needed data was carried out by help of procedure of a non-standardized, structured dialogue. Our investigation took place in the psychiatric department of Klatovy Hospital a.s. , the psychiatric department of University Hospital in Plzeň , Psychiatric Medical Institution in Dobřany and other more departments. The nurses? answers were compiled in casuistries from which though maps were made up. The described investigation was running from January to July 2011. TRANSGENERATIONAL TRANSMISSION OF VIOLATION IN FAMILIES
SAMCOVÁ, Daniela
The thesis describes the issue of transgenerational transmission of violence in families. The thesis is divided in into theoretical and research parts. The theoretical part describes the current state of the issue. The thesis contains several chapters focusing on a general description of violence, its causes and types. I also briefly described victims and perpetrators of domestic violence. The key chapter of the thesis deals with the transgenerational transmission of violence in families, in which I attempted to analyze the topic in detail by using opinions of several prominent authors. In the research part I set my objectives and formulated two hypotheses. The research was conducted among the general public and the respondents were selected at random. The respondents were represented evenly in terms of sex; they had different educational backgrounds and socioeconomic status. The objective of the thesis was to determine to what extent the childrearing models in families are transmitted from one generation to another and to specify which factors affect childrearing patterns. The results of the research part were described and shown in form of diagrams. The results have shown that violence is indeed transferred from one generation to another. The research has shown that most of the respondents do not agree with a childrearing method with a total absence of physical punishment. On the contrary, most of the respondents believed they were able to avoid mental punishment. It has been confirmed that a low socioeconomic status does not affect childrearing patterns. Nowadays the issue is discussed very openly and it is no more viewed as a taboo. However, the related information needs to be presented continually, including new discoveries and findings which might lead to an improvement of the situation. It is necessary to keep advertizing assistance and prevention in this area. Legislative changes are critical in the struggle against violence. A significant contribution to the solution could be the education about the issue as a natural part of curriculums for the helping professions.

The Questions of Explaining Domestic Violence
POSTRÁNECKÁ, Hana
The subject I have chosen for my bachelor thesis is ?The Questions of Explaining Domestic Violence?. This bachelor thesis aims to define problems in the course of the explanation of domestic violence, and at the same time, to find out specific aspects in the explanation of domestic violence. The first chapter of the theoretical part deals with the definition of the term of domestic violence and the characteristics of the victim and the offender. It further deals with the forms, kinds, specifics and causes of domestic violence, the questions of battered woman syndrome and Stockholm syndrome. The next chapter deals with criminology point of view of criminal offences related to domestic violence and its explanation. The chapter involves criminal activity, the specifics of its explanation and typical motives, the questions of testimony and cooperation with experts in terms of domestic violence. The following chapter deals with the activity of institutional participants of domestic violence, who are mainly criminal proceedings bodies, intervention centre and a body of social and legal protection of children. The last chapter is focused on legislation. For the practical part, I have set the main objective: ?to define problems in the course of the explanation of domestic violence?. I have also set two partial objectives: ?to find out specific aspects of explanation of domestic violence? and ?to find out the extent assistance provided by the institution in the course of explanation of domestic violence.? To fulfil the objectives I used the qualitative research method along with the semi-standardised interview technique. Six experts were asked seven questions when data were collected. To obtain informative data, I addressed experts working in state and non-state institutions who deal with domestic violence. Drawing on my research, I laid down hypotheses that are described in the chapters Discussion and Conclusion. The main objective is answered by Hypothesis 1: ?The most frequent problems in the explanation of domestic violence are high latency, long-term maltreatment, crime scene, insufficiency of the body of evidence, lack of cooperation from the victim and the specifics of the victim?. The objectives of the thesis were fulfilled. The thesis can be used for a further development of interdisciplinary assistance to persons threatened by domestic violence and prevention development. Further, the thesis can be used in lessons for assisting workers.
