Social Impacts of Prostitution
BAIEROVÁ, Jana
The word ?Prostitution? means something we also call ?Providing sexual services for money?. It is an extremely old job that is not similar to any other job and it has been in our society since the very beginning. Prostitution is perceived as negative pathological phenomenon in our society. Penalize, supervise or legalize? These are questions that the Czech Republic has been asking very often lately. However, none of these forms will actually eliminate the negative effects that accompany prostitution. Especially social impacts and the way they are perceived by those women who make their living by providing sex for money, and that have been subject to this research. The goal of my work was to describe the social impacts of prostitution considering the specifics of the South Bohemian region mainly from the point of view of social aspects. I have used qualitative strategy for my research. The data collection was carried out with the help of non-structured intense and depth interviews. The research group consisted of 8 women that make their living providing sexual services for money in luxurious erotic club called SYDNEY. Results of this research provide possibilities as to how to look into the issue of prostitution, how to grasp on understanding of the women?s motivation toward their prostitution behavior, map out their live situations, discover difficulties of the prostitution carrier and find out how they see their future. Common characteristics that led to the formation of prostitution carrier have been such that the interviewed women grew in disturbed family environment; most of them graduated from high school prior their prostitution carrier, no boyfriend or husband, lack of finances and starting with the prostitution based on recommendation of their girlfriend. Development of their carrier is characterized by certain specifics. Every one of them works under a nickname, they do not encounter any physical violence during their carrier and typical thing is having the same customers. Most of the women drink alcohol during their work, neighborhood they live in does not know about their carrier as prostitutes, they usually have no children, none of the women provide the sexual services with pleasure, some are afraid to be identified, most of them are not afraid to get infected with sexual transmitted diseases and typical is change of their role while working with the client. All of them want to quit their job as prostitute in the future. Most of them however, need to make money since they are afraid that they will not be able to find any other job and most of them are not interested to find a partner. Based on the interviews and responses to the above mentioned questions it was possible to characterize the social impact in company prostitution that follow: untaxed income of prostitutes, drinking alcohol and risking addiction, addiction to high financial income, difficulties finding suitable partner to start family, difficulties finding a job, psychological stress, promiscuous behavior, separation from their home and risk to be infected with sexual transmitted diseases. The last examined phenomenon was whether the women in question have been aware of the possibilities of social work and if they perceive this as an option. The result was that considering the specifics of their job and position, they are not very interested in some social work. They don?t need to use the social services and they don?t want to communicate with the social workers. They do however know where to seek the possible assistance and how to get in touch with the social workers. This Thesis can help to understand reasons why are these women involved in prostitution, bring some light into the situation how their lives evolved and where they see positive and/or negative impacts of such activities in social field. It can also help to discover the striking differences in the forms of prostitution and describe specifics of prostitution.

HAVLÍČKOVÁ, Silvie
The focus of this bachelor work is to stroke, its impact on individuals and families. This topic is relevant. CMP is one of the most common causes of death and disability in the Czech Republic and worldwide. CMP is not a matter only of the individual but also his entire family. The theoretical part of the thesis is divided into nine basic categories. The first circuit characterizes and divides the typology, describes the symptoms and examination methods CMP. In the second circuit we learn how to recognize stroke and first aid in the development of stroke. Third circuit includes the risk factors that may be controllable and uncontrollable. The following ischemic stroke and hemorrhagic stroke (here are described the types CMP). Other circuits are CMP impacts (impacts are fundamentally different, so it is important to their description), family and CMP (important is family involvement in care and the impacts associated with the position of careers), rehabilitation after stroke (focusing more resources on social rehabilitation) and forms social assistance (which are the most common forms of assistance). The aim of this thesis is to determine as stroke affected social interaction in the family. A partial goal is to find out what are the possibilities of social assistance. Depending on the objectives set by the two research questions. The main research question is: How have social interaction within the family changed after a stroke? Partial research task asks how welfare assistance was realized in the family. Qualitative research was chosen in the thesis. When data collection method was used interviews and semi-structured interview technique. The sample consisted of 5 respondents who had stroke and his family was willing to cooperate in collecting data. Respondents were selected target (intentional) choice. When evaluating the quality of the data was carried out by cluster. The results are organized into two blocks. The first section concerns subjective opinion of an individual to experience a stroke. Results are for greater clarity divided into circuits. The first circuit includes demographic data of respondents and their lifestyle before going through the CMP. The following circuit shows the risk factors that influence the emergence of a stroke. Other circuits have dealt with CMP and its impacts, the use of components of comprehensive rehabilitation, assistance from family, communications, public relations, social impacts and the situation at present. The second part deals with the subjective opinions of family members on the situation of the family after suffering stroke. Circuits with family members are divided on adoption diseases affected; the financial decline in the family, careers isolation from society and family, whether they were given the necessary information about the CMP. The research implies that the respondents' lack of awareness of the consequences of risk factors that may be the cause of stroke. None of the clients did not know about the causes (risk factors) CMP. Only in case of two clients there was a consensus that they knew about the mortality associated with going through the CMP. Other respondents did not know that their lifestyle and some diseases lead to stroke. The research showed that 4 clients do not know about the use of social services for the issue, but also showed that 3 family members and some respondents were given the necessary information from the staff of many medical and social institutions. All respondents used at least two components of comprehensive rehabilitation. In addition, respondents agreed that assistance from family was very good. Intended use of the acquired knowledge of the thesis will be to utilize as resource for individuals and families after stroke and also for professional and the general public.

Its main objective is to demonstrate these negative impacts, to reveal how unemployment affects everyday life of adult people and to find essential differences as for the understanding of unemployment in three phases of adulthood. In the end, the work illustrates what difficulties people of a different age group have to encounter. The theoretical part focuses on the current situation of the aforesaid issue. The attention is concentrated on the following chapters: the importance of work to human nature, labour market, unemployment and characteristics of each period of adulthood. This part is concluded by the detailed description of psychological and social impacts of human life. In order to accomplish the objectives of this thesis, quantitative research in form of non-standardized interview was executed. The respondents from the following age groups, young people from 18 to 26 years, middle aged people from 30 to 45 years and people from 45 to 60 years, were asked according to the previously set criteria. The part dedicated to research describes the personal experiences of individual unemployed respondents. The latter are divided into three groups which are summarized in the end of this research and later analysed in the chapter dedicated to the discussion. The results based on this research proved the existence of the majority of psychological and social impacts stated in the theoretic part. They confirmed the fact that the older generation struggles with the problem of unemployment more than younger generations. The basic difference in how to understand unemployment was proved on a different perception of the aforementioned impacts. This problem becomes more serious depending on the age, as well as the difference of psychological needs which get worse with regard to the older generation. The acquired results of this Bachelor Thesis should further serve in order to extend psychological and social care of unemployed people registered at the Employment Agencies. The example is illustrated on the multidisciplinary team providing primary prevention and comprehensive care of unemployed people.

The theoretical section, in the first chapter, introduces the concept of disaster and it describes disasters that struck the Earth in the past and endangered substantially human lives. The second chapter is devoted to disasters of the 21st century and is divided into two parts. The first part of the second chapter deals with disasters of the 21st century in the world, including the current situation in Japan and the other part introduces major disasters of the 21st century in our country. The third chapter of the theoretical section focuses on the characteristics of basic disasters that may occur in the Czech Republic. The fourth chapter informs us about the impact and consequences of extraordinary events and crisis situations in the Czech Republic and about their solutions. This chapter introduces us to the way the Czech Republic addresses social impacts of disasters, which are an important factor in determining the seriousness of disasters. The concept of social impacts of disasters includes not only the loss of life or property, but also reduced ability of self-support of people affected by disasters caused by closing down businesses and their decreased work ability. The last chapter of the theoretical section, chapter five, deals with the role and responsibilities of state authorities and local governments during extraordinary events and crisis situations. This thesis aims at specifying social impacts of disasters and to propose some solutions. The results of quantitative research using questionnaire survey showed that we can confirm working hypothesis no. one, i.e. that one of the major impacts of disasters are social impacts. The thesis also includes research conducted using the method of guided interviews thanks to which we can confirm the second working hypothesis, i.e. that dealing with the impact takes place mostly in the reconstruction period after the crisis situation. Knowledge obtained while working on this thesis may serve as a comprehensive analysis of the current state of the Czech Republic in terms of dealing with social impacts of disasters.

In the practical part the attention is paid to the results of the questionnaire investigation, which was focused on the players of the most hazardous playing genre from the dependence point of view -- the MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games). Two methods were used for determining the percentage of the addicted players. Furthermore the practical part proves the hypotheses dealing with the aggressiveness of the MMORPG players and with the positive impacts of the computer games. Thanks to the theoretical and practical parts, the thesis confirmed that uselessly too much attention is paid to the computer games addiction, because the most negative effects were disproved or at least questioned. The practical part demonstrated among other that for the time being the diagnostic methods are not on such a level so as to be able to identify the problematic persons with certainty.
