Gladziszová, Pavlína
The subject of the diploma thesis is a study of the urban design of Old Morava river waterfront in Hodonin. The thesis is divided into 3 parts. The first part contains a literature research relating to the general design of urban waterfronts. The second part is aimed at the analysis of the area in terms of wider relations, functional use, natural conditions and a local history. The complex synthesis defines the main issues, current values and the basis for the design part. The design part is partly based on the analysis of the previous development as well as the historical context that became a source of inspiration when designing the waterfront area. It takes into account both the history of local fishing villages and the original direction of the Morava river. In general, the study aims to integrate the river into the life of the city, to connect the river with the surrounding countryside, to make both banks more accessible and more attractive for the functional as well as the recreational use.
Distribution of wild cucumber, Echinocystis lobata Torr. et A. Gray, in chosen rivers in the Czech Republic
ČIHÁKOVÁ, Tereza
The aim of this work was to create an overview of known locations of the invasive lianas Echinocystis lobata (Michx.) Torr. et A. Gray in selected rivers in the Czech Republic with the contribution of my own data from the field survey. The selected flows were the rivers Sázava, Lužnice, Ohře and the stream Mastník. There were 71 places located on these flows and 7 others were found in the surroundings of gardens and cottage area in Kosova Hora. The original location of the species is North America. It extends mainly along watercourses from where it spreads to nearby locations. Štětinec laločnatý is one of the most problematic invasive species in Europe because its vegetation form creates a continuous layer over other species in the lower level and thus prevents the access of light (Dajdok et Kacki, 2009). It is important to monitor its spread and, if possible, adopt measures for its control.
