Injury or disease of the knee joint and the possibilities of orthotic fitting

Title: Injury or disease of the knee joint and the possibilities of orthotic fitting. Objective: The main objective of this work is a description of various diseases or injuries of the knee joint and the resulting restrictions on movement and stability of the knee joint and options of fitting suitable orthosis that these restrictions are reduced or eliminated. Method: The study focuses on the theoretical part, which is written by a bibliography. The first part is the attention paid to anatomical structure of the lower limbs, various kinds of diseases and injuries of the knee joint and limiting knee function. The second part focuses on the selection of suitable types of orthoses for individual disability. In this section, I will use in addition to literature and the experience that I gained while working on the prosthetic work and from more experienced colleagues on the practices held throughout the study. Results: The result will be a list of various injuries and diseases of the knee joint and the overview of suitable knee braces that can be used to improve the function of the damaged knee joint, and hence the entire musculoskeletal system. The first part is the attention paid to anatomical structure of the lower limbs, various kinds of diseases and injuries of the knee joint and limiting knee function. The second part focuses on the selection of suitable types of orthoses for individual disability. In this section I will use this in addition to literature and the experience that I gained while working on the prosthetic work and from more experienced colleagues on the practices held throughout the study. Results: The resulting options on improving the function of the knee joint and thus also the entire musculoskeletal system after application of a suitable orthosis. Method: When drawing up this work the method of qualitative data collection of research articles, literature and oral information obtained from experts, who are dedicated to this issue, was used. Result: The effect of dynamic orthoses for patients with cerebral palsy is more efficient than the effect of static braces. Technical solutions and indications to KAFO orthosis

Title: Technical solutions and indications of KAFO orthoses. Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to look closely of the orthosis at crossing areas of the foot, ankle and knee (KAFO brace), gather available information on individual technical solutions and indications of the type KAFO orthosis. Furthermore, I would be happy if this work has become a useful resource for anyone who wants more insight into this issue. Methods: During the formation of this thesis I have drawn on available literature and partly from previous personal experience. Next I worked with and obtain information from colleagues and experts in the art. I attended seminars and training courses. Results: This work contains informations from anatomy, which describes it in greater detail. Is it described human gait, muscle testing lower limb and also includes general orthotics. The main part focuses on disorders of the lower limb which they relate technical solutions KAFO orthosis with their respective indications. Effect of braces on the stereotype of the walk in patients with disorders of the peripheral nervous system

Title: Effect of braces on the stereotype of the walk in patients with disorders of the peripheral nervous system. Objective: The main objective of this work is to assess the improvement in walking patients with neurological disorders after application of braces that improve the stability and function of the weakened limbs. Method: The work is processed mainly in the form of research. The work focuses on the theoretical part, which is written according to the used literature. In the theoretical part is the great attention paid to the individual stages of the walk, the anatomical structure of the lower limbs and neurological disorders of the peripheral nerovového system. The practical part focuses on the status of patients after neurological damage and assessment of patients without the brace and walk with the orthosis and also the overall improvement in their walking exercise essential needed for daily needs. Effect of physiotherapy and AFO extension verticalization in patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy

Our research is focused on using orthotic devices in patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), particularly in the ambulant phase of the disease. DMD is the most common hereditary muscle disorder in childhood. The typical symptoms are progressive muscle weakness and contractures that lead to loss of ability of independent walking, typically among the age of 9 to 13 years. The theoretical part is focused on pattern of standing and walking in these patients, the posibilities of useing the orthotic devices in various stages of the disease, and on the problems of contractures and deformities. The other teoretical part of the work is devoted to certain physiotherapy interventions and to associated physical activities. The practical part of the research is based on assesment of effect of physiotherapy and use of the nigt orthesis AFO (Ankle- Foot-Orthesis) in group of 10 DMD boys in the average age 9,1 ± 2,7 years. All boys were examined before and after 6 month of therapy. In examinations the following tests were used: NSAA (North Star Ambulatory Assessment), BI (Barthel index) measurements of muscle strength by hand held myometr and measurement of PROM (passive range of motion). Aspects of the tretment of idiopathic scoliosis

Title: Aspects of the tretment of idiopathic scoliosis. Objectives: The aim of this bachelor thesis is complete the form to submit basic information about the ways and possibilities of treatment of idiopathic scoliosis with a focus on conservative treatment with orthoses fuselage. To capture the issue of disease, not only in terms of diagnosis, but also bring aspects of adoption and then handicap orthotic aids patient. Methods: For creation of thesis was used qualitative research method of data collection and analysis of secondary data from scientific articles, magazines and publications. This information was subsequently reviewed and consulted with an expert in the field of orthotics. Results: Indications night hypercorection orthoses for patients in many ways more acceptable and complies with the prescribed mode applications than the 23-hours braces. Medical Aids and Equipment for Children with Cerebral Palsy

Title of the thesis: Medical Aids and Equipment for Children with Cerebral Palsy. The thesis' aims: The main goal of the thesis is to convey a well-structured description of the use, benefits and types of currently available medical aids employed in the treatment of children with cerebral palsy. Another cardinal aim is to complexly abridge the issue of how the condition originates, manifests itself, develops, and explore the alternatives for its treatment. Method used: Besides technical bibliography, in-depth surveys that included first- person interviews and personal encounters with a number of professionals as well as patients have been used. Results and conclusions: Various medical aids play a crucial role in the affected child's life, lessen his dependence, improve his motor skills, raise his life standard and help him in his quotidian activities and communication. Design of Cover Parts of Elbow Brace

The topic of my bachelor´s thesis is the analysis and design of cover parts of elbow brace. Design has fulfill general condition of industrial design, especially technical, aesthetic and ergonomic requirements. The aim is to create a comprehensive concept that should evoke a contemporary appearance to improve physical and mental well-being of a patient with injuries of the elbow. Emphasis is placed on therapeutic effect and the whole concept should reflect the social and psychological functions.
