Bachelor thesis is focused on the issue of capacity in retirement homes in South Bohemian Region. The aim is not only to analyze the current state, but also the possibility of future development of capacity in these facilities. The reason for the necessity of retirement homes and their sufficient capacity for the future is the main prerequisite of constantly lengthening of life expectancy and the corresponding increase of number but also the proportion of seniors in the total population. The theoretical introduction is devoted to define the basic concepts of age and aging. Attention is also focused on individual theories of aging, age and periodicity of old age. Marginally are also mentioned symptoms of age. There is also described the characteristic of retirement homes such as social services, including basic activities. With the regard to the focus of the work, there are presented retirement homes in South Bohemian Region and current and future trends of population development in this region. The analytical part is realized by quantitative research, which was conducted in two directions questioning retirement homes by a questionnaire survey, supplemented by telephone interviews and searching for data from publicly available publications, and by constructing model projections, which point to the possible impact of demographic aging on the current capacity of retirement homes. The sample consisted of 35 retirement homes in South Bohemian Region, the success of the cooperation was about 66 %. The results were clearly tabulated, enhanced with images and conclusions based on information obtained through the survey and model projections, analyzed in detail in the subsequent discussion. It can be assumed that the objective of the present study were met and hypotheses confirmed. The results could be used in the future strategic planning of social services in the South Bohemian Region. The thesis could be an incentive e.g. for mapping the capacities for other residential facilities of the South Bohemian Region.
The Impact of the Aging Population on the Health Care Financing
Schejbal, Radek ; Fiala, Tomáš (advisor) ; Miskolczi, Martina (referee)
The population ageing is a phenomenon that appears sooner or later in any population. In the Czech Republic this process has intensively been going on since the end of the last century and it will continue in this century. My thesis reveals possible impacts of this development on services providing health care. It is estimated that the changing demographic structure of the population in the Czech Republic will significantly affect the revenues and the expenses of health insurance companies. These expenses would not be financially sustainable with this development and the present adjustment of the system. In my thesis I describe the features of the population ageing in the Czech Republic in the recent period following the data of the Czech Statistical Office. I also describe the development of this ageing till the end of the 21st century. Furthermore, I describe health care services, health care availability and I briefly analyze the health condition of the population. The simulation financial development of the health insurance system, on the basis of the open-access data from the ÚZIS (The Institute of Health Information and Statistics of the Czech Republic) and ČSÚ (The Czech Statistical Office), estimates future financial difficulties. Finally, I list possible precautions that might prevent these financial difficulties.

Demographic aging population and its economic consequences.
KRAMOSIL, Josef
This thesis deals with the demographic aging of the population and its economic consequences. This work is divided into two parts. First, there is a theoretical part, which is a kind of summary of the findings of the ongoing demographic aging of the Czech population, and it also deals with the last two significant population projections up to the year 2070. This is followed by a practical part. There are drawn cartograms of the Czech Republic, according to data from the Czech Statistical Office and from my own calculated indices and indicators. These are the index of age, economic load, business load, green and gray load and life expectancy and average age. The thesis concludes with some recommendations and hypotheses.
The Aging of European Populations
Pospíchalová, Barbora ; Miskolczi, Martina (advisor) ; Nývlt, Ondřej (referee)
The objective of the thesis is to evaluate process of ageing of European populations that is in process in particular countries differently. Further, the objective is to denote factors which contributed to this development. Thanks to considerable decline of fertility characteristics in the monitored period there has been observed decline for persons under age of 19. Because of that young-age dependency ratio decline in all European regions. At the same time due to the increase of the 65years old and older people there is increase of the old-age dependency ratio. The total dependency ratio has declined and this trend turned up significantly in last few years. In the future there is expected considerable increase the economic strain imposed on the productive people by the non-productive persons. There is significant difference of the life expectancy between European countries. In the near future higher rating growth will be expected in the less developed countries. More developed countries do not have such a big growth potential in this case. At the same time the values of life expectancy at birth are getting closer together between men and women.

The ageing of the population and its impact on the society from a global and local point of view of the micro region Bechyne
KODADOVÁ, Markéta
This thesis deals with the demographic aging of the population and the changes which this natural cyclical process brings along. I am not only mapping the current situation and trying to give a forecast of the next fifty years, but I am also trying to identify how the aging will mirror our society and which areas of public life will mostly be affected by it. A substantial part of this thesis is dedicated to the transformation of social services and how it works, which should contribute to the community planning project in the micro region of Bechyne. All theoretical findings in the later part of the thesis are used to evaluate the socio-demographic situation in the mentioned region and subsequently followed by suggestions, which could lead to the improvement of the residents{\crq} quality of life.
