Zelinka, Jan ; Kouřilová, Jana (advisor) ; Prudká, Šárka (referee)
Master thesis aims to evaluate the accessibility of social services in Karlovarsky region. The thesis is focused on the demographics of seniors and social services intended for them, specifically retirement homes. In addition to analyzing the accessibility of social services is elaborated demographic projection of region's population over the next 50 years. In the theoretical part is described the definition of social policy and the fundamental theoretical principles, types and functions. This part also describes the legislative framework of social policy in the Czech Republic. In relation to social policy are presented issues of community planning as a tool for the implementation of social policy in the Karlovarsky region. The conclusion of theoretical part is devoted to the theory of demographic projections and describes the basic projection methods. The practical part in the introduction focuses on general and demographic characteristics of the Karlovarsky region and the current state of social services for the elderly, specifically homes for the elderly. The second half of the practical part presents a demographic projection of region's population over the next 50 years and is focusing on senior component whose proportion in the population will increase. This projection is calculated by the component method without migration. The conclusion of the practical part is comparing the initial state of social services and the anticipated development of seniors. It also describes community plan in the Karlovarsky region with emphasis on the development of social services for seniors. Documents drawn up by the Karlovarsky region on issues of social services and conclusions of this thesis suggest that there is no need to increase capacity, but rather to focus on the change in the structure of users and ensure that these services are provided to people whose health condition really requires this kind of complex social care.

The author prepared a comprehensive group of approaches in the field of pragmatic language development, based on realized research. The rigorous thesis is divided into six chapters. The first chapter describes the pragmatic field (from a linguistic point of view and on its development and pathology). In the second chapter, the author details, based on information from scientific literature, diagnostics and symptoms of Asperger's syndrome, with a focus on communication. The third chapter includes the latest findings about logopaedics diagnostic and diagnostic of communication difficulties of children with Asperger's syndrome. The pivotal parts of the rigorous thesis are the fourth and the fifth chapters. Economic development of prices of gold in the world markets
Novotná, Gabriela ; Severová, Lucie (advisor) ; Spiesová, Daniela (referee)
The thesis focuses on analyses of price development of gold from 1971 to 2015. In 1971 Bretton Woods system, which set the price of one Troy ounce to 35 US dollars, collapsed. After the collapse of this monetary system the price was left to the market. The work focuses on more recent development of price of gold between the years 2005 and 2015 and tries to identify the factors influencing the price of chosen commodity. Price of gold is in US dollars for one Troy ounce which id 31,1 grams. Literature review looks at general properties of gold. Further, it sums up the history of gold as means of payment and different kinds of gold standards, which clarify how gold as currency has slowly been replaced by different substitutes, mainly inadequate coins, banknotes or wireless transfer of money. Then, the term investment gold is explained and several possible ways to invest into gold are shown. Further chapters focus on gold mining and setting of current price of gold in London. Practical part looks at supply and demand for gold, composition of supply and demand and development in time. Next part of the work is above mentioned analyses of price development focusing on years 2005 to 2015, stating real price of gold in US dollars per Troy ounce. In conclusion the most important factors influencing price of gold are described and the authors opinion about price prediction is given.

Teacher's questions in the teaching of mathematics
Růžičková, Lucie
This diploma thesis studies various ways of observing mathematics teachers' questions, with particular respect to the possible influence of the questions on learners' cognitive processes and on the quality of acquired mathematical knowledge. There are two main aims: to create plausible criteria for characterising mathematics teachers' questions and to compile a collection of authentic communicational situations. On the basis of empirical research, certain phenomena of communication that are worth observing in mathematics classrooms for the purposes of the study of teachers' questions are described. A collection of concrete examples illustrating the actual occurrences of each of the described phenomena forms an integral part of the results. The significance of corrective questions from the point of view of cognitive impact on learners is emphasized and their further exploration is suggested.

Experimentální a simulační metody pro optimalizaci scintilačního detektoru
Schauer, Petr ; Autrata, Rudolf
In S(T)EM an image is formed using a focused electron beam, which is scanning across a very small part of the specimen surface. A scintillation detection system consisting of a scintillator, light-guide and photomultiplier (PMT) processes only one pixel of the image at any given moment. Not only efficiency, but also kinetic properties of such a system are of great importance. Scintillation detectors can show a noticeable difference in detective quantum efficiency (DQE) due to the bad electron-photon energy conversion and/or light losses in the optical part of the detector. Up to now, some studies were engaged in measurement of S(T)EM detectors performance ascertaining very low DQE for some detectors, but no suggestion has been made to optimize the detector set-up. To find the neck of a detection system, one must examine the whole detection path step by step

Problems posed by the protection of lamprey and fish localities of European importance in the drainage areas of the Dyje, Morava, and Odra rivers
Lusk, Stanislav ; Lusková, Věra ; Lojkásek, B. ; Halačka, Karel
In consequence of the accepted legislation concerning the protection of lamprey and fish species of European importance, potential sites of community interest (pSCI) have been selected for such species. At present, the national list of the proposed pSCI is being examined by the European Commission. If approved upon, the pSCI will be proclaimed "special areas of conservation" within the NATURA 2000 system. Although such pSCI and their populations are protected by legislation, there occur risks that endanger, both directly and indirectly, the quality of the pSCI and the population of the particular species. The examples mentioned in the paper indicate that such risks include local emergency pollution, construction of weirs and small hydraulic power plants, extraction of sediments from streambeds, cruising vessels, and stream modification. Such risks are due to the inconsequence and reluctance in observing the legal protection measures by concrete authorities of nature conservation.
