Application of family therapy at work with addicted clients - qualitative probe, experience of therapists

of the thesis Background: Involvement of close persons of drug users may have a significant impact on the success of all types of treatment programs. Thus, family therapy or work with families is an effective form of treatment for both adults and teens who have problems with alcohol and illegal drugs. Involvement of persons close to drug users into treatment process is associated with finding professional help at an early stage of drug use, with a higher degree of involvement of drug users in treatment process as higher retention, with significant reductions in drug use after treatment and also improving the social behavior of drug users. Therefore is offered the question: how family therapy is indicated at work with addicted clients, and when this method is contraindicated. The aim of this work is to find out how is indicated the family therapy or therapeutic work with the family at work with addicts, from the perspective of clinicians, and when, according to their experience, family therapy is not recommended or contraindicated. Eating Disorders - Causes, Treatment Options and Help

Title of the bachelor's thesis: Eating Disorders - Causes, Treatment Options and Help Author: David Rudolf The bachelor's thesis focuses on eating disorders, especially on anorexia nervosa. It describes the causes leading to the disease, symptoms and features, risk factors as well as the dangers of diets and their consequences. It sums up standard treatments, contemporary options of specialized treatments, advisory, help and various forms of therapy. It mentions ways and possibilities of the family support, focuses on questions of eating disorder prevention in family and at school. This thesis includes the description of the two particular cases of anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa, the analysis of causes and symptoms of the pathological eating behaviour leading to the origin of the disorder. Options of treatment and steps needed to the solution of the situation of the people concerned have been suggested, as well as the optimal way of therapy proposed by an expert. This thesis presents the problem of eating disorders as a contemporary topical matter, brings attention to the danger that is omnipresent with this sinister strain and stresses the necessity of more complex public information and prevention.
Multifamily Therapy in the Treatment of Eating Disorders

This paper gives the summary of the six-year operations of multi-family therapy programme in eating disorders at The Eating Disorders Centre at The Psychiatric Clinic, Prague. The research done has been the first experience with multi-family treatment of psychiatric patients in the Czech Republic. This therapy concept is often used abroad as a form of work with patients suffering from the diagnosis of eating disorders. It is a "first choice" method due to NICE Guideline(2004). The inspiration for the Prague team was the London Maudsley model. The main aims of the research were: 1/ to introduce this therapeutic approach into a complex treatment of patients suffering from eating disorders, optimize the functioning structure and programme and stabilize the therapeutic team and 2/ to evaluate the effectiveness of multi-family treatment and suggest the suitable metodology. Since 2004 twenty families which form the observed group have been involved in the project. Abstract This bachelor thesis is focused on art therapy activities in three different groups of seniors. It observes a creative proces of old people with both different stresses and living conditions, suitability of techniques used, topics and art therapy approaches in individual groups. The theoretical part describes the phenomenon of old age, aspects of life situations and critical cases in the lives of seniors. The practical part observes the creative proces of clients, suitability, effectivity and popularity of art therapy techniques and approaches, reaching the targets as well as the signifikance of art therapy for individuals with various health or social problems.
Anorexia of a child and its impact on the family

This bachelor thesis concerns a situation of a family in which appeared mental illness anorexia. The work is divided into two main parts. The first part describes theoretical concepts of family psychology the proper functioning of family, characteristics of family system, social pathology phenomena. It also describes anorexia, its causes and symptoms. This part focuses on families with a disabled child, for comparison, whether the impact on the family are the same or different. The second part, through research, determines whether anorexia has a bad impact on the family, relationships and family functioning.
Family therapy in the Center for educational care Spirála Český Krumlov.

This work is focused on family therapy center of nurture Spirála in Czech Krumlov. In the theoretical part describes the theoretical knowledge, drawn from literature, describing the center of nurture, its emergence and the main job description. Furthermore, it defines the concept of family and family therapy from its definition, formation, goals, initiation, during and after the termination of cooperation with the family. In the practical part of this work are analyzed 4 case studies of clients SVP Spirála. The aim of the research is to determine on whose initiative the clients receive the SVP, whether the effect that there are children from single-parent family, whether to become clients of SVP. Furthermore, it was observed, which is the initiator of the cooperation with SVP, whether mother or father and that the most frequent reason for discontinuation of therapy is that the client's behavior will improve and thus alleviate the problem of the family. Case studies are based on professional examinations family therapists SVP. Furthermore, the method interview with therapists as a means to verify or refute the hypotheses set.

This thesis describes the family therapy and related issues. It explains the origin and development of the family therapy worldwide and in the Czech Republic. It defines the family therapy and introduces some of the fundamental concepts in this area. It shows the family therapy as a way of thinking, which has developed over the years and provided us with numerous models and approaches that are applied up to now. The systemic approach in the family therapy is one of the principal approaches. Therefore, a substantial part hereof is dedicated to this approach. Also, there is one chapter dedicated to the narrative approach. The thesis refers to the impulses penetrating the European psychotherapeutic society ? such as the jin-jang family therapy. It describes the steps in the systemic conduct of a therapeutic dialogue ? starting with receiving a client into the therapy to completing it. It also mentions the importance of observing the professional ethics. It is not the purpose hereof to intimidate readers with the complicated theory of the family therapy. The purpose of this thesis is to clarify this topic and motivate readers to take up further studies.
