The Cult of an Artist at the Turn of the Century - A. Rodin and M. Aleš by M. Švabinský
Kučerová, Anežka ; Prahl, Roman (advisor) ; Rakušanová, Marie (referee)
This work focuses on forms of presentation and self-presentation of two important artists living at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries - a Czech painter Mikuláš Aleš and a French sculptor Auguste Rodin. It can be described as the so called cult of both artists, which means a perception of artist as an outstanding genius. This type of thinking about artists and their work was widely spread in the 19th century. Mikoláš Aleš (1852-1913) is known for his individual artistic style which was based on the Czech romantism and folk art, his style also partly anticipates Czech Art Nouveau. Auguste Rodin (1840-1917) was one of the most important French sculptors working at the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century. He is considered to be a founder of modern sculpture. Many of his statues caused scandals which made him famous and well-known also among the Czech artists. Both artists were highly appreciated by young members of the Manes Association of Fine Artists. This Association was established in 1887, since 1897 the Volné směry journal were published. Mikoláš Aleš became the first elected president of this Association. Members of this Association were highly interested in modern trends in Czech and European art. It may be surprising that young members of the Manes Association were...
Analysis of the Biblical Trust in the World of Pentateuch
Matějka, Miroslav Pacifik ; Hřebík, Josef (advisor) ; Brož, Jaroslav (referee) ; Chalupa, Petr (referee)
This Study elaborates the topic of Biblical Trust in the World of Pentateuch. This trust is understood as to rely in a purely subjective way on a word or instruction of some person. In case of God it frequently means a conviction that some humanly unrealizable promises are to be fulfilled. Such attitude secures to the trusting person merits before God. Rely on God is often understood in a confrontational way as opposite to the life of unbelievers. Trust requires courage to make leap in the dark. Meanwhile it is always right to trust in God, trust in a human person is in Pentateuch interpreted as fool. But if the respective man is the spokesman of God, the eventual mistrust is seen as an attack against God himself. In case of God's revelation trust becomes duty. If there is any doubt people can ask some sign of authenticity for the presented God's will. But if the will is known, eventual mistrust is interpreted as disobedience and follows a severe punishment. The same trust which belongs to God is required also for his prophet and for the Law proclaimed in the God's name. If somebody relies on himself in sense of exaggerated self-confidence which does not count on God, it is understood as a crime. In the same manner is valuated the trust directed towards the pagan divinities.

Czech-Slovak Statistical Machine Translation
Astaloš, Lukáš ; Kouřil, Jan (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to design, implement and evaluate the translation system capable of translating texts from Czech to Slovak language. It describes theoretical foundations of statistical machine translation and then the phase of design and development of system. The chosen strategy was to build phrase-based translation model using one large parallel corpus in combination with language model from local institute of linguistics. The statistical machine translation Moses was used to achieve this goal. The vocabulary translation of unknown words using stemming was proposed and tested. Precision of build system was evaluated with BLEU score and it achieved comparable results with other systems.

Analysis and Actual Interpretation of Chapter 3,1 - 4,17
MÁDROVÁ, Lenka

Next it deals with semantic analysis, i.e. with the meaning of the text, certain words are explained and semantic fields analysed. The last part attempts to find incentives for the life of contemporary youth in the passage. The way of communication of man and God in the case of biblical characters and of contemporary people is compared. 21st century youth is characterised as well as barriers which prevent it from hearing the voice of God.
