Evaluation of production costs, revenues and quality of potato tuber in organic and conventional farming system
MALECHA, Pavel
In 2009, there was an experiment with strains of potatos conducted in the region of Soběslav, at an altitude of 614 m. The aim of this thesis was to evaluate production costs, revenues and internal tuber quality in terms of organic and conventional farming system. The work observed dry matter, starch, reducing sugar, chlorogenic acid, vitamin C, nitrates and solanine. An attempt was made on two different strains of potatoes which have different growing season (Impala - very early, Adela - early). Adela variant showed an average of 7.51 t / ha higher yield than the Impala. Higher costs per tonne of potato production were in the conventional way of cultivation. From the evaluation of the internal quality of tubers, there was an apparent influence of the strain and cultivation method on the content of controlled substances. The executed test showed the health of potatoes grown in an organic and conventional way.
Effect of organic and conventional potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) farming on selected characteristics of potato tuber proteins
MÍČKA, Tomáš
Diploma thesis follows the influence of organic and conventional potato management (Solanum tuberosum L.) on tuber protein content. Potato protein represents from 1/3 to {$^1\!/\!_2$} of total tuber nitrogen compound and belongs among the most valuable plant proteins - its high value is given by high level of essential amino acids. Important group of potato proteins is a patatin (complex of patatin proteins), which is considered as a major storage protein and has many important physiological functions such as antioxidant activity and function of defense system against pathogenic organisms. The aim of the the work was to determined content of crude protein, pure protein and patatin proteins representation in the total protein of potato tubers. The diploma thesis was solved using 5 potatoes varieties, 2 year{\crq}s repetition and variant of organic and conventional potato production system. The obtained data were statistically evaluated. It was found, that content of dry matter in potato tubers was significantly influenced by a year and locality of the field experiment. Crude protein content in potato tubers was significantly influenced by a year, variety and type of potato management system. The potato tubers produced under conventional and organic management contained 9.93 and 9.16 % of crude protein in dry matter, respectively. Pure protein content was significantly influenced by variety. The affect of crop management on the pure protein content was not statistically signifiant. However, slightly higher content of pure protein was evaluated in dry matter of potato tuber produced under convetional than under organic crop management resulting in average value of 4.23 and 3.86 %, respectively. Representation of pure protein in total content of nitrogen matters was significantly influenced by variety and a year of growing. Complex of patatin proteins (40-45 kDa) was detected for all of the evaluated potato varieties and variants of the field experiment. Higher number of patatin isoforms (with rather physiological function) was investigated in potato tubers from organic crop management.
The response of selected potato varieties to plant density
URBAN, Josef
The aim of my diploma thesis was to evaluate four densities of growth by chosen varieties of potatoes. The thesis deals with the experiment on 4 different varieties of potatoes. I have chosen the standard technology of growing ware potatoes. The selected densities of growth were 35 000, 40 000, 45 000 and 50 000 young plants ha-1. Each variant was repeated four times. I have evaluated the yield of bulbs, the share and yield of ware bulbs, the average number of bulbs for one plant, the weight of bulbs for one plant, the average weight of a bulb and the average weight of ware bulbs. The research was done on a private farm like the field experiment. The farm is located in potato-growing area in Vysočina Region, 490 metres above the sea level. Potatoes are grown approximately over 7 hectares on the farm. The experiment started in 2010. The potato planter MARS 42 was used for the planting. The distance between drills was 0,75 metre. Parcels consisted of 4 drills, each drill equals one repetition, each parcel equals one density of growth. On purchase of samples was realized the kickoff of 10 plants from each repetition. What followed was division of bulbs according to their size in each sample. They were divided into bulbs smaller than 40 millimetres and bigger. After that the samples were weighed and bulbs were counted. The number of bulbs and the weight of bulbs are very important for subtotal. It was established the variety Mirage made the best results when the density was 45 000 plants ha-1. The variety Agria had two suitable densities of growth, namely 40 000 and 45 000 plants ha-1. There was no considerable difference between them. In contrast with previous, the varieties Victoria and Marabel made the best result when the density was 35 000 plants ha-1. I have realized the density 50 000 plants ha-1 is explicitly unsuitable for all varieties. This density of growth is loss-making especially because of lowering of all assessed indexes. Another disadvantage is higher costs (more bulbs are required) and then there is also bigger risk of diseases and pests.
Monitoring and evaluation of nitrate content in root crops and cole crops distributed at retail outlets.
NOVÁKOVÁ, Jana
The object of this research was follow up the cumulation of nitrates in individual kinds of vegetables. Analysed was 240 samples of root crops, cole crops and potatoes distributed in the trade network in Humpolec in the years 2008 - 2010. The measurement results show that all the vegetables went beyond the nitrate permitted limit, according to a law n. 53/2002. The most frequently it was in potatoe samples (50 % samples). The next was a carrot (27 %), kohlrabi (25 %), broccoli (24 %) and celery (17 %). From aspect cumulation of nitrates is parsley unchallenged kind of vegetable. Permitted limit was transcendent in 10 % about less than 1 %. The origin of the vegetables was detected as well. Czech republic had the worst results (52,5 %) because of the high nitrate concentration in potatoes. It is grown by a domestic growers. Spain had 20 % in broccoli and kohlrabi. It is imported to our market. Although the high nitrate concentration in some vegetable samples the vegetable influence the human health in a positive way and it doesn?t make health hazard.
The influence retard potato tubers and occurrence storage disease
KLIČKA, Vladislav
Influence of sprout suppression based on CIPC by fogging and amount of storage losses of chips potatoes, with target in losses caused by storage diseases were investigated at temperature 8°C storage. In experiment with varieties Saturna and Pirol higher quantity of storage diseases by Pirol against control were occured after one application of CIPC, Saturna held more storage diseases in control. Identical differences by necessary losses were observed. In another experiment with varieties Saturna and Merlin no differences in amount of storage diseases were registered at double, single or none treatment, neither in quantity of necessary losses. Losses by sprouting were various according to amount of applications of CIPC and duration of storage period.

Application of Trisol preparation on potatoes (Solanum tuberosum)
MÍČKA, Tomáš
This bachelor work investigates effect of foliation (folia) applied preparation Trisol on potatoes (Solanum tuberosum). Trisol is additional, targeted, micro - elementary sustenance, which its constitution (microelements, stimulant growth, humolite acid, chelate) supports production rhizic system and minimizes possibility of deficiency microelements. The aim of practical part of work was to monitore the effect of the preparations Trisols on production of potatoes, proportion of market tubers and starch content in tubers. Results were analysed and compared with findings of other tests.
The comparison of selected types of potatoes in terms of occurrence of potato scab and yield
MÁCHOVÁ, Petra
The principal aim of this work was to compare chosen types of potatoes in terms of occurrence of potato scab and yield. Common scab is a wide - spread potato disease presently. Scabby marks represent the significant defect of consumption potatoes as well as seed potatoes, because they depreciate appearance and quality of potatoes. However, they don{\crq}t affect lower yields directly. The experiment was realized in a private garden. Five different types of potatoes were planted out and the experiment was repeated after two consecutive years. The experiment was evaluated partially at harvest in both years, than followed a particular statistical evaluation. On account of gained results it has been found out that the choice of potato type affects yield as well as the occurrence of potato scab.
Production and logistics analysis in the chosen company producing food products
GONDEK, Petr
The diploma work deals with the analysis of the logistic chain of the company Friall s.r.o., which is a producer of frozen potato specialities. Based on this analysis I wanted to discover weak points in functionality of the logistic chain and find suitable precautionary measures as well as solutions leading to an improvement of the current situation. The diploma work is focused on the raw material entry and self-production of the products.
