Aplication of virtual reality on dynamic postural stability
Al Amri, Saad Khazim D ; Pánek, David (advisor) ; Maršáková, Kateřina (referee)
Objective The aim of this study was to identify if there is any significant difference in dynamic postural stability after 3D Virtual Reality VR application on healthy adults. Methodology There were 11 healthy adults participants ( n=11 , 7 males, 4 females), with age average of 27 years. Pre-test and post-test procedures were performed by using NeuroCom, Smart Balance Master System, Sensory Organization Test SOT (Composite Equilibrium, Sensory Analysis of Somatosensory SOM, Visual VIS, Vestibular VEST, and Preference PREF) and Motor Control Test MCT (Weight Symmetry). Application of 3D Virtual Reality was provided by using Samsung Gear Goggles, with 5 minutes duration. Results There were no significant statistical differences in SOT Composite Equilibrium, Sensory Analysis of Somatosensory SOM, Visual VIS, Vestibular VEST, Preference PREF, and MCT Weight Symmetry results (p > 0.05) after the Virtual Reality application. Conclusion The application of Virtual Reality has no significant difference on dynamic postural stability in healthy adults from one session exposure. Further investigation and trials are needed to clarify the Virtual Reality effectiveness on dynamic postural stability of healthy adults. Žilinský, Michal ; Cenek, Filip (referee) ; Mikyta, Svätopluk (advisor)
Using slow camera movement in 20 minutes in five video scenes of completely CGI-rendered environment called Area of Universal Latency, I am mapping space-time of the zone which is located in the north-western Slovakia. Minimalistic narration of the autonomous single-channel video projection is confronting subjectivism with universality of the Anthropocene, vanitas and spirituality with the belief of consumerism in infinite accumulation and simulacra of virtuality with the absolute truth. The story of this video-poem is communicated through virtual environment, composed sounds and natural noises. This thesis is presenting a fragment of my attempt to record the morphology of the specific place through which, as the title of the video states, I am indicating the state of reality and its consequences yet not describing it explicitly.
Lifestyle of the virtual reality users
CHUDÝ, Pavel
The theme of this bachelor thesis is "Life style of users of virtual reality". In the theoretical part, the reader is introduced with a brief history of virtual reality, where he is presented with the predecessors of today's devices and significant milestones in the technology of virtual reality. For a better understanding of the content, there are several definitions of virtual reality, and an overview and description of some of the most well-known devices, through which virtual reality can be accessed, together with their advantages and disadvantages. In subsequent chapters are briefly described possibilities of virtual reality and benefits of its usage in different areas. In the theoretical part of the thesis is also described the environment of application AltspaceVR, in which a qualitative research survey was carried out through semi-structured interviews. Since virtual reality is quite new technology, this work also briefly mentions the negative impact of virtual reality on humans. Chapter Lifestyle then introduces basic definitions and their comparisons, and then deals in more detail with the individual elements of lifestyle. At the end of the theoretical part, the specifics of the various age groups, i have met during the research survey, are described. Within the practical part of the thesis a qualitative research survey was realized in the form of a semi-structured interview with users of virtual reality, directly in the virtual environment of AlstpaceVR application. The aim of the practical part was to analyze case studies, based on individual users' answers, to answer research questions and to find out what is the lifestyle of users of virtual reality.
File Manager in 3D
Martinák, Ondřej ; Sumec, Stanislav (referee) ; Beran, Vítězslav (advisor)
This thesis concentrates on a design of 3D user interface for interaction with a file system. It presents a short description of 3D user interfaces and techniques used for their design and implementation. It also presents a brief description of libraries which might be used for development of virtual reality applications and a description od device which was used for graphical output and an acquisition of informations about user's head movements.
The Bridge
Medek, Lukáš ; Mariánek, Michal (referee) ; Zubek, Petr (advisor)
The Bridge: Pong Evolution describes the evolution of visuality in computer games in the symbolic way. The piece focuses on the most common elements used in graphics, gameplay, styles and technologies both in history and nowadays. Then it uses them in one single evolving environment. The work is also criticizing some contemporary (and past) trends commonly used in video games.
Virtual environment by Xen software
Kulíř, Tomáš ; Kouřil, Jiří (referee) ; Jelínek, Mojmír (advisor)
This bachelor thesis, which is called the virtual environment by Xen software, deals with the operating system GNU / Linux and its distributions. It also deals with the virtualization on the server or desktop computer, in particular, describes in detail the Xen environment, including all of its options and the most forgotten server services. In the first chapter is analyzed the concept of GNU / Linux. First, there is documented history. Another section deals with a brief overview of the most commonly occurring distributions. The main part of this chapter is primarily devoted to a specific distribution Debian. There is described not only the history and development of this distribution, but also more packaging system is analyzed there. The last part of this chapter is devoted to the installation options with a detailed description of the whole process step by step. Second and the most important chapter is devoted to virtual environments. Once again, there is first described their history, the possibility of practical use and the types of virtualization are also indicated there. Reader will find there a brief analysis of the most commonly used virtualization systems. The third chapter detailed deals with the Xen technology. There is not only explained the principle on which the virtualization is built, but the main part of this chapter focuses on the practical use and a summary of basic functions. The next section describes the installation and administration of hypervisor including previous preparation. A very important point is also creation of the virtual machines and their control, their migration to another physical hardware or a description of the installation of other operating systems than Linux. Fourth, shorter chapter deals with a listing and a brief description of server services. The final chapter consists of a summary of problems or complications, which in the course of this work occurred.
Communiacation software for terminal clients of a Linux server
Hanák, Karel ; Jeřábek, Jan (referee) ; Jelínek, Mojmír (advisor)
The thesis contains a proposal and implementation of an environment convenient for operation of network client applications which use common terminals. It also consists of implemented examples where the way of their usage is presented. The centralized way of communication is the basis. The approach is used also for the possibility of their joining with managing subsystems, i.e. unlimited ways of regulation of systems for real estate management, access to devices, user authority access to access data points to the devices. The environment is based on operation system Linux and database MySQL. Their realization is supposed on a server, in the network environment. This relates also to the overall security policy and this work also focused on social treatment of clients possibilities.
Virtual environment for behavioral analysis of malware
KOVÁŘ, Jaroslav
The goal of this bachelor thesis was to propose and implement a virtual environment for behavioral analysis of malware. Specifically with simulated network services. Subsequently was this environment applied to the analysis of several selected malware samples.
Youth Subculture in the Online Environment
SUCHANOVÁ, Jana
Over the last ten years Internet become substantial information and communication tool for all age and social groups of Society, but it has a specific status among the younger generations. This thesis understands the Internet as a virtual environment which supports the formation of new Youth subcultures and also the communication of currently existing subcultures. Theoretical part defines the basic terms and concepts (Youth, socialization, identity, culture, subculture, and counterculture) which correspond with the orientation in researched environment. The thesis characterizes also virtual environment, computer games and psychosocial aspects of these worlds. The practical part is based on qualitative research study (depth interviews) of the subculture of the on-line computer games players. The data gathered by depth interviews were processed on the basis of the methods of grounded theory.
