Assessment of diffusion coefficient
Mikeš, Petr ; Schimmel, Jiří (referee) ; Míča, Ivan (advisor)
Most acoustic measurements and parameters provided by a manufacturer of acoustic elements, which are offering additional solutions to room acoustics as well as acoustic construction works, are mainly limited to the parameters associated with absorption of individual elements. Until now, these diffusional elements have been neglected. Diffusi- onal panels are used to e.g. eliminate direct reflection of sound waves to the listener or reflection of sound waves concentrated at one point. Combination of absorptive acoustic panels and diffusion elements results in a space that is customised to the submitter’s needs.
Civic amenities building
Baroň, Alexandr ; Pilný, Ondřej (referee) ; Berková, Petra (advisor)
The first part of this diploma thesis is to design an energy-efficient hotel with restaurant and car parking. The second part is also to create an assessment of the energy performance of the building and usage of energy from renewable sources. Hotel is designed with the idea of „smart buildings“ which means, that all the technological background is controlled by the main computer, which also harvests data to achieve a minimum energy use and financial demand and maximum comfort and safety at the same time by controlling the connected technology. By placing on a sloped terrain in the center of Brno, the basement floor can be used as car parking. The roof of this building is flat, green, with modifications for placing solar panels, whose design is part of this work. The third part of this diploma thesis is the spatial acoustics of the conference room on the first ground floor.

Art school Palackého, Pardubice
Zavadilová, Adéla ; Müllerová, Eva (referee) ; Müller, Jan (advisor)
It is a new building of a free-standing primary art school with a cafe and a multi-functional hall. The ground plan shape of the new building is made up of three interlocking rectangles. The spaces of the multifunctional hall and the cafe are designed so that they can be operated independently of the primary art school. The building is designed as a two-story, partially basement building. The facade of the primary art school is made up of the ETICS contact insulation system with surface treatment - plaster, cladding. The roof above the first floor is designed as a walkable vegetation roof. The roof above the second floor is created as a vegetated extensive roof.
Analysis of Acoustic Space Objective Quality Criteria of Orlí Street Theatre
Bělunek, Adam ; Frenštátský, Petr (referee) ; Schimmel, Jiří (advisor)
The core of the theoretical part of this work lies in a summary of basic laws and principles of a room acoustics, behavior of sound waves, reverberation time, sound absorption, impulse response and methods of measurement. Furthermore, the work describe and define some of the objective quality criteria of concert halls we know. We can find basic time criteria (e.g. reverberation time, early decay time, bass ratio, high frequency ratio…) and energy criteria (e.g. objective clarity, strenght of arriving energy…) etc.. The main focus is on a script, that is programmed in Matlab. It handles calculation of some objective quality criteria of concert halls. The function of the program is described. There are some trial calculation, that are evaluated. Functionality is demonstrated on some impulse responses, that were measured in hall of a theatre Divadlo na Orlí. The positions of microphones were different and also the configuration of acoustics elements in this hall was changing. Results were compared and commented. Another part of this work are scripts for calculations of impulse response and frequency response.
Akustic of the musical club
Dostál, Miroslav ; Berka, Pavel (referee) ; Donaťáková, Dagmar (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with the problems of interior acoustics. Within the scope of the thesis measurements were taken, followed by 3D modeling and subsequent design modifications of Olomouc acoustic music club Metro. The calculations used a specialized software (Odeon Room Acoustics Program). The result of the work is a proposal of suitable reconstruction and acoustic treatment, which will be achieved by optimalization of reverberation time, in an effort to improve the physical properties of the object.
Reconstruction of cultural education centre
Hrůza, Vojtěch ; Berka, Pavel (referee) ; Donaťáková, Dagmar (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with matters of interior acoustics. Within the scope of the thesis, a design alteration proposal in terms of enhancing sound quality and reverberation time of an existing multi-purpose cultural hall situated in town of Karvina was carried out. First design draft was made using manual calculation process and processed afterwards using specialized software (Odeon Room Acoustics Program). Within the thesis’s specialization study, a design of forced ventilation combined with heat recovery and new roof support structure using wooden truss girders was made. A design proposal dealing with building structure alterations and minor changes in operational facility layout was also made. New flat roofs layer assembly and exterior walls insulation was designed. Taking all proposed changes into consideration, new fire safety design documentation was made. Final outcome is therefore overall reconstruction of the given building object in pursuit of enhancing operational facility layout, overall interior and exterior esthetics and building physics parameters of the object.
Civic amenities building
Zachar, Dominik ; Pilný, Ondřej (referee) ; Berková, Petra (advisor)
The aim of master´s project is to design a new civic amenity building. The chosen type of building is a cinema in cadastral area Strážnice. It is a three-storey building with a walkable roof. On the first floor there are 2 cinema hall, bufet, canteen, storerooms and sanitary facilities. On the second and third floor there are sound room, projection room sanitary facilities and air conditioning engine room. On the roof there are terrace with cafe bar. The vertical loadbearing structures are designed from reinforced concrete in all storeys. The building is insulated by a contact thermal insulation system. The horizontal loadbearing structures are designed from prestressed spiroll panels. The staircase are designed from reinforced monolithic/cast-in-place concrete slab. The flat roof consists of a flat roof with extensive greenery and a terrace. Building is heated by stationary gas condensing boiler. Ventilated by air handling unit and cooling by outdoor cooling unit. Artificial lighting will be provided by dimmable LED lights. Rainwater will be collected in a tank and reused. On the flat roof is situated photovoltaic system. The spatial acoustics were designed so that the calculation of the reverberation time in the room meets the requirements of applicable standards and regulations.
Design and Realization of Acoustic Adjustments of Listening Room
Vajda, Michal ; Miklánek, Štěpán (referee) ; Schimmel, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is devoted to the design of acoustic modifications of residential space and the subsequent implementation of these modifications. Its aim is to design an optimal solution of the space for listening to music in accordance with the Czech Technical Standards. The basic parameters investigated are reverberation time and acoustic quality criteria. The thesis deals with simulation in the EASE modelling program and addresses situations before and after acoustic treatment. The following methods and procedures are used to comprehensively address the above mentioned treatments and to achieve the set objective. Furthermore, the simulation is verified with a custom calculator in Excel. After using the absorbers suitable for adjustment, the implementation with the final measurement of the reverberation time is carried out. Finally, an additional modification design is created using Helmholtz resonators. The implemented methods achieve an optimal and frequency balanced reverberation time and the room can be used as a mixing hall for multi-channel sound recording.
