Approach of the Czech Health Politics to Strategy Health 2020
Machová, Kamila ; Háva, Petr (advisor) ; Tušková, Eva (referee)
The aim of the thesis is the assessment of developments in the approach towards the "European" strategy Health 2020 by Czech political players while using methods of critical discourse analysis and the assessment of the development of the Health 2020 agenda during the period 2010-2012 in the context of previous activities of the World Health Organization. The approach of the Czech health care political players to the strategy had been assessed on the basis of governmental programmatic statements since 1998, the National Reform Program of Czech Republic 2011 and interviews with participants in the Czech health policy and Czech health care. The approach of Czech health policy towards the Health 2020 strategy had been evaluated as extremely problematic. The course of creation and discussion of Health 2020 in 2012 had become a critical barrier for the Czech Ministry of Health. As a result, no wider awareness of this strategy exists in Czech health policy, neither does exist a Czech translation of this strategy. Lastly, the goals of Czech health policy do not reflect in a single point of the goals of the Health 2020 strategy.

Health promotion strategies as a reflection of determinants of health in contemporary world
Strenková, Anna ; Háva, Petr (advisor) ; Kružík, Lubomír (referee)
Bachelor thesis "Health promotion strategies as a reflection of determinants of health in contemporary world" deals with the issue of high prevalence of chronic diseases caused by the change of social structure during the transformation from traditional to modern society and epidemiological transition which occurred as a result. These problems together with theoretical health determinants research initiated the establishment of theoretical and practical discipline called health promotion ("new public health") which is supposed to work together with the existing medical-oriented discipline of 'old' public health in the health care system. The main contribution of theoretical research was the finding that the healthcare system effects health of the population just by 15 %, while lifestyle and environmental conditions are the most important determinants of health. Social and economic conditions work as contextual health determinants. They influence health and the other determinants through a broad social context. The aim of health promotion is to address these social and economic factors in order to improve the health status of population and reduce inequalities in health. The thesis explores health promotion programs and strategies on the international (WHO), European (EU) and national (Czech) level and...
Health Systems in Transition: Priorities, Policies and Health Outcomes
Borisova, Liubov ; Tulejová, Henrieta (advisor) ; Bryndová, Lucie (referee) ; Nivorozhkin, Eugene (referee)
The dissertation deals with the links between health care systems and health outcomes in the so-called 'transition' countries. The main questions to be addressed are: ''Do health care systems and their transitions influence health outcomes in the transition area and i f they do - how?" The combination o f qualitative techniques and econometric methods allowed for a creation o f the structural classifications o f the health care systems in transition and produced important findings. Firstly, health care transitions, and especially their structural component, are found to be significant in determining health status in the CEE and CIS countries. Secondly, however, the socio-economic determinants o f health were established to also play a major role in determining health inequalities in the transition area. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

BLÁHOVÁ, Věra
In diploma thesis is an analysis of the literature to characterize health and healthy lifestyle. The research found that the inform and knowledge in the areas of students of Secondary technical colleges (Machinery and Electrical) is average and it is not significantly different from the knowledge level of Secondary grammar school students. The diploma thesis can help to increase the knowledge level of students in the areas of health, an increase in motivation in applying and following a healthy lifestyle in your life.

Unemployment and Its Impact on Health
PULTAROVÁ, Lucie
This diploma thesis called 'Unemployment and its influence on health' consists of theoretical and empirical part. In the theoretical part, important terms that are connected to unemployment and labour market are summarized. The definition of the term 'health' is specified and the factors and determinants that influence it are stated as well. The term 'health disorder' and problematics of psychosomatics are discussed too. The practical part is concentrated on examination of the influence of unemployment on health. A quantitative research, method of questioning and questionnaire technique were applied here. The collection of data took place at a regional office of The Jobcentre in České Budějovice. Job seekers registered under this office formed the body of the research. This work has two aims. The first one be the influence of unemployment on health of the unemployed and the second be the finding about the influence of unemployment on development of mental and somatic disorders. The following hypotheses were set up regarding the aims of the work: H1: The unemployed state their health declines during the period of unemployment, H2: Unemployment has a negative effect on mental health of the unemployed, H3: Unemployment has a negative effect on somatic health of unemployed. The hypotheses were not verified during the course of statistical testing. Based on the results of the research, we can deduce that the duration of unemployment doesn't have an impact on the subjective evaluation of physical and mental health. While the duration of unemployment increases, we don't observe any physical or mental heath decline of the unemployed. The conclusions of this research may, however, not be generalized due to the number of respondents and region which was chosen for the research. Statistical testing, however, revealed some interesting facts. These are, for example, the connection between the duration of unemployment and the evaluation of the impact on individual's areas of life, the relation between the duration of unemployment and health state evaluation during the last employment. The research itself could possible serve as a source material or starting point for future studies in this field. The above mentioned findings could after wider research bring knowledge which would be applicable to further practical works with the unemployed.
Quality of life in patients before and after total hip replacement
ŠIDÁKOVÁ, Alena
The objective of this thesis is to assess quality of life of patients before and after total hip replacement. To determine HRQoL {--} Health Related Quality of Life I used standardized questionnaire SF-36 which assesses eight basic qualities (domains) of life. This thesis has 2 parts: a theoretical part and a practical part. Anatomy of the hip, total hip replacement, quality of life in general and quality of life in chronic diseases are described in the theoretical part. The practical part was prepared using quantitative research, the technique of anonymous questionnaire SF-36. The respondents were clients of the orthopaedic outpatient clinic of hospital in Klatovy. The final sample comprised 18 women and 11 men. Results were recorded in electronically. The Department of Clinical Pharmacology of hospital in České Budějovice provided evaluation of the results. Data obtained about probands were compared with results of Oxford Healthy Life Survey and also with each other. The results were made into well-arranged graphs and charts. The structure of charts is uniform, the value from research and the value from Oxford (always 100%) are stated next to each other. Results obtained from the practical part can be used to supplement education materials which relate to this issue. The results are very encouraging. Quality of life after total hip replacement has improved. Especially in the domain of bodily pain (P) where the probands reached the results of 86.79%. The difference between Oxford {--} 100 % (healthy population) is therefore only 13.21 %. Probands achieved best result in domain General health perceptions (GHP) 141.38 %. Two hypotheses were stated in the introduction. Hypothesis 1 was: Quality of life of patients will improve after total hip replacement. Hypothesis 2 was: Consumption of analgesics will decrease after the surgery. Both hypotheses were confirmed. Obviously, the results in some domains will remain lower compared to healthy population but the overall quality of life of patients after total hip replacement has improved. The objective of the thesis was accomplished. Resources used are listed in the conclusion of the thesis. Appendix includes for example the questionnaire SF-36 or information leaflet with obtained data (pain reduction, improvement in certain domains of quality of life etc.) which will be used to educate patients in waiting rooms in outpatient clinics.
