How affects work involvement of students their grades?
Rovný, Martin ; Chytilová, Helena (advisor) ; Brožová, Dagmar (referee)
This bachelor thesis examines the impact of employment while studying on academic performance. The analysis is conducted through the questionnaire survey, which was attended by undergraduate students. Dataset is supplemented with data from the official database of school. Examined relationships are theoretically supported and commented based on the theory of social and human capital and labor supply. The results of the basic model, which examines the relationship between employment and study, suggest that the work during studies has a significant negative impact on grades. The expansion model, which takes into account the number of hours worked, shows that students working more than 15 hours per week reach significantly worse school performance than non-working students, while work 1-15 hours a week is not associated with significant adverse impact. At the 10% level of significance was found a positive relationship between grades and work in the field of study.
Working possibilities of physically handicapped persons in locality Prague
MATĚJKOVÁ, Kateřina
My thesis focuses on the possibility of employing handicapped people in the Prague region. My partial goal was to identify supporting and risk factors that affect the employment of these people and describe their experience with job opportunities. In the theoretical portion of my thesis, I describe the most common types of disabilities, the types of education with a vocational focus and supportive means for employing these people. The final part of the theoretical portion is dedicated to the importance of work to a handicapped person and the causes of its marginalisation. The practical portion of my thesis is based on case studies. The survey group was comprised of four handicapped people who have lived and worked in the Prague Region on a long-term basis. Data was obtained via semi-structured in-depth interviews that took place in Prague during March. The other portion of my research was a secondary analysis of data on economic activities of handicapped people, mainly obtained from the Czech Statistical Office. The results show that handicapped people have sufficient knowledge of the advantages they bring to potential employers and do not hesitate to point them out during job interviews. On the other hand, the level of knowledge of alternative job opportunities is greater in handicapped people under 30. Factors that would help a prospective handicapped candidate be offered a job include a higher degree of education and greater language skills, programmes focused on employing handicapped people, properly selected jobs and education in common types of schools. The risk factors of hiring a handicapped person include a slow work pace and insufficient knowledge by employers and co-workers, a lack of handicapped access on public transportation and in buildings, long-term therapy stays in health spas, weather affecting the ability to get to work and the diminished opportunities for self-fulfilment and growth on the secondary labour market.

To follow up this analysis there will be briefly described propositions rising from the era of former regime. Consecutively the thesis will show contemporary system of career compatibility and demonstrate how much this way is used in reality by employers and employees who are taking care of one minor unprovided child at least. Analysis of suggested National conception of support for families with children will follow together with economic impacts on Czech society. No solution is nowadays accepted unanimously by all participants and that is why it is very important to find a compromise acceptable for all.

Burnout Syndrome Threat in the Unemployed
HEGER, Helena
The topic of the bachelor thesis is a burnout syndrome threat in the unemployed. ?Work? has a great importance for the life of man; a paid job is, in the first place, a guarantee of a certain social and economic status. Having lost a job, an individual finds himself in a very unpleasant situation that can be characterized by a change in standard of living, loss of social dignity or prestige, and social isolation. Unemployment is therefore accompanied with a number of negative phenomena, influencing life in its full range and capacity. Lack of workload, destruction of the set time patterns of the day, mental pressure, as well as negative attitude towards the phenomenon itself, can be characterized as chronical stress with a negative influence on both mental and physical health. The bachelor thesis describes the problem of uneployment and burnout syndrome theoretically. As a part of the problem analysis, a sociological probing has been carried out, with the aim to access the level of satisfaction and burnout syndrome risks within a group of unemployed people.

The influence that has volunteering on professional apply
KUČEROVÁ, Lucie
In my thesis, I focused on the effects of volunteering on professional employment chances of graduates. The theoretical part is devoted to volunteering, its kinds, and its importance to the personal development of volunteers. The other half of the theoretical part of this thesis is devoted to jobs and their comparison with volunteering. My objective was to find out whether employers prefer, when selecting their employees, graduates who have experience and skills from volunteering, and how this experience is viewed by employers in the non-profit sector as compared with employers outside the sector. I used the method of questioning, the technique of questionnaires, and controlled interviews. The results were elaborated in graphical form with absolute figures and tables using the chi square statistical test. The results of this thesis have confirmed my initial hypotheses, namely that employers prefer graduates with experience from volunteering and that the experience from volunteering of graduates is evaluated as an important element in recruitment, especially by non-profit sector employers. A following step to improve understanding of volunteering by employers would be, I my opinion, to suggest changes to legislation that would help organizations make better use of volunteer assistance. I would like to suggest to volunteers themselves to record better their volunteering activities so that they can use such materials as an attachment to their CV{\crq}s when applying for a job.
Monitoring of Selected Socially Excluded Locations in the Town of Plzeň
MARTÍNKOVÁ, Eva
The theoretical part of this thesis defines the process of social exclusion and its elements - spatial, economic, cultural, social, political and symbolic. These interconnected elements give rise to crucial areas that are substantially affected by social exclusions - living conditions, employment or ways of making a living, education and medical condition. The following chapters describe the initial situation in the Plzeň locations in 2006 and the situations in the mentioned areas in relation to excluded individuals. The objective of the thesis presented is to describe the development in seven socially excluded locations in Plzeň including their current situation. A qualitative survey was carried out addressing particularly workers in self-administration and non-governmental non-profit organisations, who come in contact with individuals from socially excluded locations. A method of document analysis by means of content analysis of the data was used along with a questioning method via a dialogue. The situation of socially excluded locations in Plzeň has significantly changed in the last five years, as the location labelled as the most problematic one by all informers perished at the end of 2009 and another location suffered changes as a result of the sale of the property. Maintaining or on the other hand cessation of the described localities considerably depend on the town´s housing policy, since the town of Plzeň owns the houses in all remaining locations. Owing to the increasing indebtedness of the population and growing problems in the housing or employment areas, there is a threat of an origination of new socially excluded locations. This thesis contributed to the evaluation of the development in the situation of socially excluded locations in Plzeň, which can give a base to implementing direct measures resulting in joining the inhabitants of these locations as well as in creating preventive measures.
