DON GIOVANNI History of art, its creation and interpretation of the opera in the 20th century

The master thesis "Don Giovanni - history, its origin and interpretation in the 20th century" is dealing with an entire development of the opera and it reflects staging approaches of the 20th century. The thesis offers a brief analysis of the opera and the literary work it is based on. Furthermore it summarizes information about the origin of the work and its creators. Finally in the supplement there are cast lists of the productions of National Theatre Prague, photographs and pictures of the production in various opera houses worldwide.

I have chosen Sona Cervena, because I had the opportunity to get to know her and even stand with her on one stage and understand that she is and Artist with big A. She has sacrificed her whole life to theatre, but it was not a sacrifice for her, because she took theatre as her family. By this work I would like to remind her inexhaustible diligence and her will to go forward with her head up against the fate.
Mirella Freni´s Center for Belcanto

This thesis presents Mirella Freni as pedagogue and focuses on her educational projects, from short-term pedagogical activities to the founding of the CUBEC institute, an international center for belcanto singing in Modena, Italy. The work presents a detailed account of the founding of CUBEC, and analyses its methods of auditioning and teaching students. The final part of the work confronts knowledge of Mirella Freni´s pedagogical qualities with author´s personal experience. The work also contains chapters on the life of Mirella Freni, capturing pivotal moments in her life, from childhood to the end of her Professional singing career. The conclusion of the work presents Mirella Freni´s personal contribution to the author of the thesis.

The purpose of my masterš thesis is to present and to defense my progress over two - year - master degree study program at the Academy of performing arts and in this way to crown the whole five - year - study of opera directing at the university of art. First of all I preform the integration the work of art Jiří Antonín Benda into historical context, then follow: the conroversy about the choice of the title for my master´s staging, the description of project - realization, the primary scheme an the final result of the whole project. In my thesis I set in detail to the analysis of this Benda´s singspiel. I judge this work of art both from the classicist and contemporary view. I compare Shakespeare´s drama with work by Gotter. Not least I refer to the mastery work of art Jiří Antonín Benda.
Luciano Pavarotti and his pedagogical Contribution

The thesis presents the personage of Luciano Pavarotti in the role of an educator. The aim of this work is to study his pedagogical contribution to the young generation of singers. It analyzes Master Classes and other didactic projects initiated by Luciano Pavarotti and it focuses on his work with young singers. The work captures the very first impulses towards the young generation of singers. It consists of chapters presentingPavarotti?s life ? starting from his childhood following to the end of his international career. The final part of the work confronts knowledge of Luciano Pavarotti?s pedagogical activity with author?s personal experience. The structure of the teaching process shows that it is oriented towards the vocal technique, the selection of repertoire and further tendencies of the students with Pavarotti´s personal engagement. The conclusion presents Pavarotti?spersonal pedagogical contribution to the author of the thesis.
Development of opera in Slovakia and Slovak pionners opera theater

My work is about the history of Slovak opera and theatre, since the first written records and live performances. I was also interested in the history of slovak theatre and it´s buldings, the first instances of slovak opera, and the rise of the Slovak National Theatre. The end of my work belongs to, in my opinion, two of the most important initiators of slovak theatre.

This B.A. thesis Cultural and market-economic aspects of transmission opera performances from Metropolitan Opera in New York(Met) aims to map one of the products the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the product of live broadcasts of opera performances in high quality image resolutin, the product Live in HD. Its aim is to capture the successful product development applying in the cultural field at a time close to his creation, but also a sufficient distance to enable him to capture the development and performance. Compares the conditions for applying the product (in the broader context of cultural functioning of the market) in theU.S. and Republic, explains the principles of operation of the product, examines the distribution and promotional network needed for its spread and points to certain elements and moments as a possible source of inspiration for the cultural market in the Czech Republic. This work is in the Czech Republic in this range yet unique.
Mozart´s Don Giovanni from the singer´s point of view

I have chosen the subject of my thesis because of my extensive professional experience in the operative performance of Mozart`s opera Don Giovanni. I consider Don Giovanni and its title role character one of the most interesting topics in the whole of opera. In my thesis I have focused on the questions surrounding the interpretation of Don Giovanni. My observations are based on my own experience of performing in this opera in several productions at numerous prestigious European opera houses, as well as on the opinions of my more experienced and highly skilled colleagues. I have divided my thesis into the following chapters: Synopsis of the Opera with Focus on the title hero, Relationships of Don Giovanni with the Other Characters, Psychology of Don Giovanni and Don Giovanni in Modern European Productions. In the appendix one can find full interviews on Don Giovanni with Gerald Finley and Christopher Maltman.
Count Almaviva in Mozart´s Opera The Marriage of Figaro

In my thesis I will focus on the role of Count Almaviva from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart opera The Marriage of Figaro. I will try to challenge innacurate and confusing information, which are ocasionally published in popular literature and I will especially focus on the development of the character of Count Almaviva. Further in my thesis I will mention one of the first interprets of the role Dmitry Hvostovsky and other major international and local opera singers performing the Count Almaviva character. I will also list the most interesting recordings of the opera. In coclusion of my thesis I will concentrate on my personal experience with the stage interpretation of Count Almaviva in four different production of The Marriage of Figaro.
South-Bohemian theatre - the phenomenon of leisure time

Point of this bachelor thesis was to introduce the history and structure of South-bohemian theatre, especially its function and connection to leisure time of children, youth and adults. This introduction should take place through education, leisure time, also in socialization process and by gaining the knowledge of the culture, the subject was born in. The connection of leisure time and the art is very significant. It enriches the person in all aspects of his experiences and perceptions. Although its very important to teach the subject how to approach and observe art. Theatre is a syncretic environment in which the musical, dramatic and artistic fields are tightly connected. Theatre is one of the nonviolent forms of how to spend the leisure time and simple way to aesthetic education.
