Labe IV: Výzkum složek vodní flóry (fytoplankton, makrofyta) ve vybraných tocích povodí Labe

Náplní výzkumu složek vodní flóry (tj. fytoplankton a makrofyta) je analýza podmínek a jevů, které mohou významným způsobem ovlivňovat stav těchto autotrofních organismů v tekoucích vodách. Z hlediska fytoplanktonu i makrofyt je to zejména množství a dostupnost živin, hydrologické změny, především kolísání průtoků vyvolané klimatickými podmínkami (včetně souběhu nízkých průtoků a vysokých teplot vody), meteorologické - klimatické podmínky (výskyt dlouhodobých bezesrážkových období, množství slunečního záření) a dále úpravy koryt toků a provoz na tocích.

Function of honey-bee (Apis mellifera) in see industry of field crops.

In this dissertation I am trying to point out the importance of the honeybee in the pollination of plants and the connection between the plant and the honeybee. The honeybee is essential and indispensable part of agricultural production that increase in the hectare production. It is also importat in forests, fields and in orchards. In the introduction there is a telling about bee colony and alternative ways of pollinate. In this dissertation I outline economic and ecological features of beekeeping and problems that beekeepers have to solve, some grants from the European Union that help to our beekeepers. In conclusion there are described some problems and different opinions for geneticaly modified plants and their influence for the honeybee.
Thoughts of Plants

This diploma thesis called "Thoughts of Plants" consists of two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part focuses on an explanation of the basic thoughts and inspiration that comprise the main resources for the practical part in my thesis. In context of this thesis subject, there is a documentation of the main points in the current art scene, which deals with plant and landscape detail. The practical part is composed of the monumental triptych connected to the subject. This triptych is made of acrylic paint on canvas.
Vegetation of heat pipelines and participation of invasive species

Both climate change and plant invasions are phenomenons affecting vegetation structure and its functioning. This study compares vegetation of heat pipelines with surrounding vegetation and investigated survival of thermophilic species in the zone on heat pipelines. Reactions of plants on global warming, including possible invasive behaviour of alien species, are briefly discussed.
Rural villages as biocentres. Plants mapping utilization for biodiversity evaluation.

Rural villages are important elements in cultural landscape. Thanks his variety here often enact biocentres and make possible to existence wide spectrum of plant, that could occur in other places and by other conditions only rock hard. At present however happens under the thumb of wasteful management to typical provincial nature suppression and to extinction of some species. This work was bent on vegetation investigation in three villages in Volyňsko in district Strakonice. Ascertained kinds spectrum distinguish on the basis of many factors, for example location position, abiotic factors or way of management. To other subject of interest was derived, let us say invasive kinds occurrence as well as protected species. On the basis these results can tell, that the rural villages are in monotonous agricultural landscape significant biotope that it is necessary to protect.
Phytoremediation of air - plans and reality

Results obtained so far indicate that selected plants can be effectively used to remove contaminants from the air, both horizontally and especially near sources of contamination, such as roads. When choosing plants, it is necessary to pay attention to their sorption capacities, as well as their ability to survive in contaminated sites, which are also exposed to other stresses such as lack of moisture and salinity.
Short peptides with antimicrobial activity from plants

Several families of plant antimicrobial peptides have been isolated from different organs and intercellular washing fluids of plants. Antimicrobial peptides were isolated by precipitation of fractions and separared by HPLC and then characterized by tricine electrophoresis.
PHARMACEUTICALS IN URBAN WASTEWATER AND THEIR POSSIBLE DEGRADATION BY PLANTS

Work is focused on pharmaceuticals in wastewaters and watercourses and their removal by plants. We made short-time hydroponic experiments with Lupinus alba, Hordeum vulgaris and in vitro experiment with Armoracia rusticana L. As a model pharmaceuticals were chosen ibuprofen, diclofenac and paracetamol.
Report for the Project Optimization of Supercritical Fluid Extraction for Maximal Yield of Biologically Active Substances from Plants

Savory, caraway, peppermint, lavander and ruta were selected out of more than twenty plants as the best resources of biologically active substances soluble in supercritical CO2 and effective against pest insect. Lethal doses and antifeedant activity of plant extracts against four model insect species were evaluated. Chemical composition of isolates was determined using GC and GC-MS. Two novel methods were used to examine relation between the composition and the acute toxicity of isolates.
