"Death, Death, you are always so carving of lives." Mortality and funeral ritual in Cheb in the second half of 19th century
KOLOUCHOVÁ, Jana
The presented thesis deals with the phenomenon of death in the second half of the 19th century using the area around the Cheb town as an example. The source base is made up by information from Christian registers of deaths, prescriptive regulations and tangible evidences. As a main methodological basis the Historical Demography was chosen, but the other approaches were used as a Historical Anthropology and Art History. The most important emphasis was oriented on getting results from statistical research. The index of death issues was researched from several circumstances. Not only the data on approximate life expectancy, infant mortality and seasonal movement was reached, but also the analysis of the causes of death was made with the respect of its German terms. The attention was oriented on infectious diseases, with which the society of the second half of 19th century was afflicted too. The question of spread of epidemics is given into the wider context in the subsequent chapter, which is devoted to influence to prevent the gradual lengthening of life expectancy. The attention was devoted to the analysis of preserved tombstones from the 2nd half of 19th century on the base of fieldwork. The artifacts were assessed from the point of view of artistic representation. The epitaphs were recorded as well for the identification of specific persons. The conclusion of this topic was the thought of vandalism of modern time and the importance of preservation of the testimonial of funeral culture as a proof of high art. The main aim of presented thesis is not only to find out what were the mortality situations of the monitored period, but also the changes of funeral rite influenced by emancipation of bourgeois society. The connection with early modern period tradition of colossal noble funeral ceremony was pointed out. The shift of attention from the deceased to the bereaved was substantiated on the analysis of the preserved tombstones from the second half of 19th century and from the parsing of the funeral announcements in the regional press. The complexity was amplified by the study of lives of the two generations of sculptors from Cheb, who influenced unchangeably the appearance of the local cemetery. Thanks to the language analysis of the term ?the Death? presented on the pages of Glossaries from that time and by the excursion into the folk?s habits connected with the end of life journey of rural population, the issues of Death and funeral ritual were studied from multiple perspectives. For obtaining the complete view, there was necessary to work not only with results of statistics, but also to consider the interdisciplinary approach.

Beta-lactamase positive Haemophilus influenzae in children
BROMOVÁ, Pavla
This Bachelor thesis, called {\crqq}Beta-lactamase Positive Haemophilus influenzae in Children`` deals with the basic properties and current occurrence of the bacteria Haemophilus influenzae, and also with the occurrence or other hemofils (Haemophilus species) in children, which occurred in the biological material sent to the microbiological laboratory- Laboma s.r.o. in České Budějovice, where some of them were producers of {$\beta$}-lactamase. The occurrence of these enzymes might be a serious problem for the right choice of antibiotics for the treatment of diseases caused by these hemofils. The essential objective was to collect and assess all data about {$\beta$}-lactamase positive hemofils in the material from airways of children from birth to 15 years of age and with a certain numbers of diagnoses in the aforementioned microbiological laboratory. The data for my thesis was collected in the second half of 2008 and first half of 2009 and was later statistically processed into graphic figures and charts in the form of results. I have also learned to use an easy and used diagnostic method for the verification of {$\beta$}-lactamase ({$\beta$}-LACTAstrip test), during which the color was changed in the zone of the indicator paper if {$\beta$}-lactamase was present. I have also visited pediatricians, who co-operate with this laboratory. They were willing to reply to four questions in my questionnaire. The main objective of these questions was to focus on the treatment of ill children whose biological material from upper airways shows present {$\beta$}-lactamase positive hemofils. From the collected data I managed to reject hypothesis No. 1 by calculating the average relative quantity from the total occurrence of hemofils producing {$\beta$}-lactamase, and I have found that the production of these enzymes is lower by 50 %. Then, I confirmed hypothesis No. 2 that more common producers of {$\beta$}-lactamase are other hemofils (H. species) than H. influenzae. From replies provided by pediatricians, I found out that all of these pediatricians take the presence of {$\beta$}-lactamase into consideration when they chose antibiotics and this confirmed hypothesis No. 3. This Bachelor thesis can be used as an argument for pediatricians to take into consideration the presence of {$\beta$}-lactamase in the biological material of producers, when they choose antibiotics.

The issues of vaccination against influenza in the elderly
VÁVROVÁ, Marie
This bachelor thesis deals with influenza vaccination for the elderly, their awareness of the flu, its severity, complications and risks. Influenza is among the most frequent infection in the Czech Republic. Many people confuse the common cold and upper respiratory tract infections, which usually have mild symptoms, with flu, which can cause very serious, even fatal complications. Risk groups include mainly people above 65 years old and it is this group of people my thesis and research concentrate on. The thesis is devided into two parts, theoretical and practical respectfully. The theoretical part consists primarily with familiarisation with major flu pandemics and continues with chapters that deal with essential characteristics of the influenza virus, a description of the flu and flu complications in the elderly. I concern myself in the research part with finding out how much older persons know about the disease, if it is perceived as a serious illness or not, if they are aware of the risks and complications the disease can cause them at their age. The paper sets out three objectives. My first goal is to find out how much the seniors are informed about the severity of influenza disease, next goal is to map vaccination rates of the elderly against influenza in the Český Krumlov region and the third objective is to determine whether there are differences in immunization rates between homes for the elderly and elderly people living independently. Quantitative research method using an anonymous questionnaire was used to obtain the data. 100 questionnaires completed by respondents above the age of 50 from the Český Krumlov region were used for processing. I predicted two hypotheses in the context of the objectives of my thesis which were subsequently disproved. My first hypothesis was: Most seniors considered the influenza disease as serious. I was not able to confirm this hypothesis. Only about a half of the respondents consider influenza as serious. This ratio is not dependent on age, place of residence or level of educational, however significantly depends on gender. The ratio of men who consider influenza as a serious illness is significantly lower when compared with women. Second hypothesis: the vaccination coverage in homes for the elderly is higher than among elderly people living independently. I was unable to confirm this hypothesis either. Information about the vaccine and its cost mostly come from the attending physician, the press and media. Mapping immunization coverage showed that only 23 of 100 respondents (23%) were vaccinated against influenza. The proposed objectives based on the obtained data have been met. The bachelor thesis may serve specialists as a source of information in the future. The concluded data and information can be mediated to the elderly either by general practicioners or in nursing homes. The results and information about the severity of influenza illness covered in this thesis can also serve as a source of information about this issue to the general public.

Digitalizing Czech television broadcasting - projects and reality
Tůmová, Martina ; Šmíd, Milan (advisor) ; Landová, Marína (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with digitalizing of terrestrial television broadcasting in Czech Republic. It focuses on the process of changing completely the way of watching TV in Czech households. It maps technological change that digital broadcasting brings to use of television, sociological aspects of change- overand historical progress in thinking of digitalizing Czech Republic. Czech Republic needs to join European Union in all aspects, and digitalization of terrestrial television broadcasting is one of them. Czech Republic accessed to convention of international coordination of frequency spectrum and changed the law according to it. Unfortunately problems in communication between all of the concerned organizations related to digital broadcasting caused present problem with administration of concession and incompetence to fill up the Technical planof change-over to digital broadcasting. Law and conceptions of state politics are implicit parts of the thesis. Initially the thesis should have compared original projects of digitalization concepts and reality and show it on case of new digital programs. More than a year after new programs got their long dreamed concessions, half of Czech television spectators can watch just digital programs of Czech TV and Nova. The same available by analog channels. The...

The eating habits of children with overweight / obese and normal weight
ŠIMKOVÁ, Simona
The purpose of this bachelor´s thesis titled "Eating habits of overweight/obese and normal body weight children" was to find out how overweight/obese and normal body weight children abide by recommended healthy eating habits. The thesis is divided in two parts, a theoretical and a practical one. In the theoretical part, I describe basic terms regarding healthy eating habits for children. Furthermore, this part includes information about individual diet ingredients, about energy consumption and nutrients in various stages of children's development and about eating throughout the day. It also focuses on the issue of childhood obesity; it briefly covers eating disorders. The practical part focuses on mapping children´s eating habits. During the research, both quantitative and qualitative methods were utilized. The quantitative research was accomplished through a questionnaire on eating and physical activity preferences, where the respondents marked their frequency of various food consumption, how often they carry out certain physical activities, how often they watch television or use a computer. The qualitative research included data on weekly children's diets as well as their drinking regime (amount and kind of drink). The gathered data were evaluated using the Nutriservis professional and Microsoft Excel software. The processed data were interpreted in the form of text, graphs and tables. All the data were processed anonymously. The research sample was made up of 50 randomly selected respondents at 8 - 10 years of age, half of which (25 respondents) had a physiological weight and the other half (25 respondents) were obese/overweight. The respondents were selected based on the willingness of the children and their parents to cooperate. The questionnaires and forms used to record the food intake were distributed in schools in the Tábor district. Several children from Sezimovo Ústí also voluntarily participated. The data were gathered from February to March 2015. In total, 202 forms were distributed, out of which only 68 were used for the research purposes. Using percentile graphs, I evaluated each respondent´s weight based on their sex, height and age. According to the data in the weekly diet record I evaluated the intake of energy, protein, fats, carbohydrates, fiber and their drinking regime. Then I compared the gathered data with reference values for the given sex and age category. Furthermore, I compared the questionnaire answers to the diet record, which were continuously filled in by the respondents into the distributed forms. The research also evaluated regular physical activity, regular television watching and pc using. The gathered and evaluated data resulted in the fact that obese/overweight respondents take in too much energy and all macronutrients. The respondents with normal weight get optimal amount of energy, fats and carbohydrates. Protein intake is excessive even with the children with normal body weight. However, the average fiber intake is insufficient with all respondents. The overweight respondents´ drinking regime mostly consists of sweetened drinks; normal weight respondent's drinking regime mostly consists of non-sweetened drinks. The most significant problem of all overweight respondents was, therefore, excessive intake of sweetened drinks, higher intake of energy, protein, fats, carbohydrates and low intake of fiber. The lack of physical activity also plays a big role. Some respondents have regular physical activity only at school, which is twice a week. Children with physiological weight abide by recommended healthy eating habits more than overweight/obese children, who have significantly excessive intake of energy and individual nutrients, excessive consumption drinks consumption.

Media reflection of sportsmen-emigrants between 1948 and 1989 (selected cases)
Novotný, Pavel ; Köpplová, Barbara (advisor) ; Zamazal, Ondřej (referee)
It is estimated that more than half million people left in the exile during the communist period in the former Czechoslovakia. This work concentrates on sportsmen who emigrated at that lime and above all on development of the their reflection in media betwee n years 1948 and 1989. The work contains three parts. In the first one the author introduces the principle of communist propaganda and a way how the propaganda profited from emigration of the sportsmen for its own purposes The second part concentrates on the development of Czechoslovak press from 1948 till 1980s. The core of the work lies in the third part where the author creates. on the basis of the reserarch done on the press sample of the then popular all-state journals Rude pravo and Mlade fronta, an image of selected sportsmen - emigrants as it evolved throughout duration of the communist regime. Each case is introduced by a brief biography, in which the author puts the sportsmen career in the historic context. It is followed by a detailed description of media reflection in a specific period. In the conclusion the author compares individual cases and explains the development that the media reflection went through. The work is completed by a revised list of emigrated sportsmen and the images of selected journal titles are annexed that closely...

MICROSTRIP FILTERS USING DEFECTED GROUND STRUCTURE
Vágner, Petr ; Kasal, Miroslav (advisor)
The thesis deals with the microstrip filter design using defected ground structure (DGS). The difference between standard asymmetric microstrip technique and DGS is in using the structures etched in the microwave substrate ground plane. The DGS resonant characteristics are then used in filter design. The thesis consists of three factual parts. The first one (chapter 4) introduces the use of the DGS resonators in the lowpass filter design. It involves experimental analysis of one type of the lowpass filter. The second part (chapter 5) deals with a novel microstrip lowpass filter design method using DGS. The proposed method is verified by simulations and several samples are realized and measured. Finally, the third part (chapters 7 and 8) deals with the bandpass filter design using specific defected ground structure as a resonator. The resonators are used in a coupled resonator structure. Filters of various orders and resonator configurations are designed and simulated. A combination of the DGS resonators and half-wavelength microstrip resonators is introduced as well. Selected samples are realized and measurement results are compared with simulations.

The Assessment in Vocational Training by Vocational Branch Hairdresser
RŮŽIČKOVÁ ZAUMÜLLEROVÁ, Věra
The aim of this study is to evaluate students within the teaching process in accordance with a specified timetable in relation to the SEP, not only in general, but also specifically as an assessment of a student by a teacher during the vocational training for hairdressers. This work aims to define the basic concepts and briefly describe the problems of student assessment not only by a teacher but also by the student himself, including the evaluation of the performance of one individual student by other students. Furthermore, it aims to describe the psychological aspects and patterns as a result of the evaluation, both on the part of the teacher, the student himself, classmates, but also on the part of participants involved in the evaluation process. The work will have a theoretical - empirical character. The theoretical part describes the evaluation of the student by the teacher during the educational training with a focus to the vocational training for hairdressers in accordance with SEP. It describes a method of systematic observation of the student within the scope of the evaluation process, potential analysis and interpretation of the performance shown by the student and forms of expression of the evaluated results. The work also aims to take advantage of student self-assessment and involvement of peers in the evaluation process. The theoretical part also pays attention to the very concept of "hairdresser", a historical perspective on the notion and not least the current view on this vocational training, its classification and description. The empirical part will propose an assessment system for educational training of the vocational field and will experimentally verify the possibility of its use in practice. In the context of the experiment, sheets will be proposed for self-assessment of students, for evaluation of student performance by classmates and for assessment of the students by teacher. These sheets will be used within one half-year for assessment during vocational training. Result of the experiment is validated through evaluation questionnaires for students.
