Supervision of volunteers in nonprofit organizations

The theme of the presented bachelor thesis is the process of supervision and the volunteerism. Volunteering is an important subject in today's society and essentials workforce in social work. The aim of this work is to focus on the non-profit sector and try to describe it. Furthermore, there is an explanation of the position of volunteers in these organizations and supervision in social work. Supervision is one of the managerial function in non-profit organizations, which is widely and long-term applied. The thesis wants to show basics, consequences and benefits of volunteer's supervision. Providing supervision is one of the main objectives of the organization to support staff or their volunteers. This bachelor thesis explores volunteering and supervision in two countries, the Czech Republic and Sweden. This thesis compares two different approaches, based on history of these two countries. Volunteering and supervision are very interesting features of the non-profit organizations. The practical part of this thesis comprises from qualitative investigation of different nonprofit organizations. Volunteers and their Lead up in Humanitarian and Developing Organizations.

The term "Volunteering" as well as its sence has become well-known in today's society. Less knowledge we have about the process of preparations of volunteers before their final involvement in specific projects. This work focus on preparations of volunteers in organizations who operate in the field of humanitarian aid and development cooperation outside the European Union. The aim of this study is to survey particular phases of the contact between organizations and their volunteers especially the phase of training before sending the volunteers for their mission abroad. Volunteer's comments on the methods of preparations form a part of the work too. To reach the objective, the qualitative research was held, so that it was possible to describe the operating methods in focused organizations. During the research, the direct contact with volunteers and emloyees of organizations played an important role. The work is concluded with the survey of ascertained facts and resulting recomendations. Volunteer Management in the 5P Program in Jindřichův Hradec

The thesis deals with volunteering in social services. The aim of the work is to suggest a comprehensive set of managerial activities based on identified good practices, which leads to the improvement of work with volunteers in the program "Pět P" in Jindrichuv Hradec, in the area of recruiting the volunteers, managing their activities, monitoring, evaluation, motivation and public relations. The thesis follows activities of non-profit organizations by virtue of which concentrates on the work of volunteers dealing with handicapped children and juveniles. Using the method of benchmarking investigation seeks to streamline management activities of the organization. The outcome of this work is to create custom draft measure, which is focusing on implementation of new methods related to the increase of volunteers in the program "Pět P" in Jindrichuv Hradec.
Possibilities for Developing Volunteering in Jindřichův Hradec

Diploma thesis is focused on volunteering in social services in Jindrichuv Hradec and potential developments. Work is based on mapping of current situation of volunteering in this region. This ascertained information is used for compilation a concept of project which should facilitate further development of volunteer activities. This work is supported thank author's experience which was gained during several years in volunteering.
