Managing a Purchasing Strategy in a Selected Business

This master´s thesis deals with the management of the purchasing strategy in the selected business company. This company sells products to final customers. The purpose of the thesis is to monitor purchasing processes mainly focusing on the supplier selection process. Thesis contains suggestion for a systematic selection process of prospective business partners, which is divided into four phases. Proposed suggestion contributes to higher productivity of the company´s purchasing strategy and considerably eliminates risk of high dependence on the sole supplier.

The first part is a general description of the history and development management of quality. In the second part are identified maps of major and minor processes inside the organization. In the third part there is a proposal for a new documentation of beginning production process.

In this diploma work I have attempted to solve problems about managing manufactoring resources in company used in servicing electro-technical production. Problems about manufactoring resources appeared in a time due to a loss of a significant customer when manufactoring resources have became disfunctional. Manufactoring resources reduction policy has been applied in various ways which have led to a significant reduction of a company’s stock.

Subject of this master‘s thesis is evaluation of potential purchase of steel coils from Asian markets for automotive industry in EU. In the theoretical part are explained basic methods for market analysis and backgrounds, which are necessary for effective purchasing management. Practical part of the work is focused on the analysis of external and internal factors that affect company, comparison of delivery terms between suppliers and risk analysis which is joined with change of supplier. Contribution to this work and results of the study are summarized at the end of the thesis.

This work is focused on the price of electricity, components that compose and factors affecting this price. Includes brief overview of energy legislation, namely to the rights and obligations of distributors of electricity, energy traders and customers. Furthermore, the work deals with the researches of the energy market in the Czech Republic, the different rates of selected suppliers and evaluating their suitability for the customer.
