Vokurková, Zuzana ; Pejšová, Hana (advisor) ; Chrpová, Diana (referee)
: Obesity is a very serious health and social-economic worldwide problem today. Childhood obesity means a higher risk of obesity and other associated health problems in later adulthood. As some research shows, every fourth child in the Czech Republic is overweight and every seventh child is obese. The cause of obesity is not only poor eating habits and lack of physical activity, but also genetic, psychological and socio-economic factors. For this reason, prevention itself is an important and only successful step. The main goal of this bachelor thesis was to find the connection between the socio - financial background of the family and the childhood obesity. Find out if the level of education and the level of family income affect childhood obesity. The work also focuses on mapping the eating habits of obese children in connection with social and financial backgrounds. The materials for the theoretical part of the thesis were obtained from professional literature, medical journals, articles and internet sources WHO, SZÚ, ÚZIS. Child obesity and socio-economic influences have been defined in this section. The research part of the work was carried out in the form of a quantitative questionnaire survey, which was anonymous and entirely voluntary. The questionnaire was submitted and approved by the...

Klicperová, Barbora ; Lustigová, Michala (advisor) ; Otáhalová, Hana (referee)
Regional Differences in Healthy Life Expectancy in Czechia Abstract Over the past decade, the health status of the population has also been measured by Healthy Life Expectancy indicator. This indicator covers not only the quantitative aspect, but it takes into the account also the qualitative aspect of prolonging human life. The main objective of this thesis is to evaluate the differences in healthy life expectancy among the regions of Czechia, both in terms of space and time (2009-2014). The introductory part of the thesis outlines the connections of the origin of the healthy life expectancy indicator and analyses the methods of its construction. The theoretical part of the thesis also includes description of sample surveys. To calculate healthy life years, the Sullivan method is used. Data on health status were obtained from the SILC survey. According to the results of the analysis, there is considerable variability between regions in terms of healthy life expectancy. The difference is significantly higher in terms of healthy life expectancy than in the case of life expectancy. A more detailed analysis of the distribution of the healthy life expectancy values has revealed that there is a certain "paradox" of healthy life expectancy in relation to life expectancy, since there are regions where the high...

Svobodová, Anežka ; Kulhavá, Miluše (advisor) ; Lukášová Jeřábková, Lenka (referee)
Increasing age of primigravidae is discussed topic nowdays. It's a trend that also affects the Czech Republic - The Czech Statistical Office shows that the process of increasing age of primigravidae progresses since 1990 till now and that is why I consider it important to talk about this issue. The main objective of this work is to determine the causes of the increasing age of primigravidae in the Czech Republic. Sub-objectives are: to determine if socioeconomic factors are reasons for delaying childbirth, to determine whether delaying childbirth is the cause of the emancipation of women and whether the decision of delaying childbirth is affected by low knowledge of risks associated with late childbirths (for both mother and child). The work consists of two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part consists of three parts and each of them is related to one objective. The first part is dedicated to changes during pregnancy and pregnancy of old primigravidae. The second part analyses family policy in the Czech Republic and the third part describes status of women in the Czech Republic. The research part is implemented in the Highlands region and in Prague, these two parts has been compared. As a research method I have chosen quantitative method of anonymous questionnaire. The...

Lišková, Kristýna ; Jeřábek, Hynek (advisor) ; Buchtík, Martin (referee)
This Bachelor thesis analyzes the departure of the voters from the traditional parties to the new parties, specifically the departure of the ČSSD and the ODS voters in the elections to the Chamber of Deputies in 2010, to the ANO party in the elections in 2013. The voters are influenced by many factors, especially belonging to a social classes, their age, education, awareness and the left or the right wing orientation. The thesis describes the entry of the new party on the Czech political scene and its influence of electoral preferences. The author analyzes the variables in the context of the election of the respondents in 2010 and 2013. There was a classical division into two large groups of voters (voters of ČSSD and ODS) in 2010, but in the elections to the Chamber of Deputies in 2013, the number of voters diverted from traditional parties because of their dissatisfaction and they voted ANO. The part of the voters of the traditional parties moved to ANO especially because of its election program or because of the party theme. There is a movement of left-wing and right-wing voters to ANO party. Voters in a different age, different educated voters or class affiliation have moved to ANO party. On the many points of view, ANO seems as a typical catch-all party, which is reflected not only by the...

Korbelius, Vojtěch ; Paulus, Michal (advisor) ; Polák, Petr (referee)
Life expectancy and its determining elements: A study for the Czech Republic at the beginning of the 21th century. In our thesis we are modelling a life expectancy function for the Czech Republic at the beginning of the 21th century. Our model is using three types of explanatory variables - environmental (socio- economic), health care and environmental pollution. Our study is the first study not only for the Czech Republic but it is a first study to include environmental pollution variables into a complex life expectancy model. As a result, we found two different life expectancy functions where one is applicable for male ta the age of 45 and 65 and female at the age of 45 and the second which is the best model for female ta the age of 65. General outcome points out three things - only one health care factor is significant at a time, environmental pollution is category that has to be considered and the percentage of people over the age of 65 is significant variable determining the life expectancy the most.
What Socioeconomic Factors Explain Type 2 Diabetes Prevalence?
Makarevich, Veranika ; Votápková, Jana (advisor) ; Bryndová, Lucie (referee)
The study aims to identify the influence of socioeconomic factors on the prevalence of type 2 diabetes for individuals aged 27 and older in the Republic of Belarus. We analyze data from the Diabetes Survey conducted by the Endocrinology Medical Center in Minsk and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus from 2011 to 2015. The association between socioeconomic factors and the prevalence of type 2 diabetes is examined using logistic regression with sequential adjustments for clinical and behavioral predictors. Our findings indicate that individuals with lower income and educational levels are more likely to suffer from type 2 diabetes than those in higher income and education groups. Moreover, the prevalence of type 2 diabetes decreases as income and educational level go up. Furthermore, this association remains significant even after further adjusting for various behavioral and clinical factors. In addition, we confirm that type 2 diabetes is more prevalent among overweight / obese, physically inactive and older individuals. These findings suggest that strategies for preventive diabetes programs should be focused on socioeconomic environment rather than on individual risky behavior only.
