Social Exclusion of Bereaving Parents
KUCSAROVÁ, Šárka
The bachelor's thesis deals with the topic of the social exclusion of bereaved parents. The main objective was to identify the causes of voluntary isolation to the social exclusion of bereaved parents. A sub-objective was to map the specifics of communication between bereaved parents and their environment in the first year after the child's death, from the perspective of the bereaved parents. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part is devoted to a study of the available literature on death, bereavement, and social exclusion with a focus on bereaved parents. The practical part maps the differences in the communication of the bereaved parents with their environment in the period after the loss of their child, and also identifies what reactions to the environment had a positive and, on the contrary, negative influence on the communication style of the bereaved parent. Finally, it examines the influence of the reactions of the environment to the bereaved parent's child loss in terms of social perception. To achieve the aim, a qualitative research strategy based on semi-structured interviews was chosen. The thesis provides a probe into the mode of communication between bereaved parents and their environment and the changes that this communication undergoes during the first year after the child's death. The contribution of the thesis is the information depicting the attitude of the social environment towards bereaved parents, the reasons for this attitude, and its impact on bereaved parents. The thesis reveals the scope for educating society on communication with bereaved parents and highlights the grey area of care for grieving parents within social policy.

Social Exclusion as a Determinant of Health in Pervitin Users
BRANDOVÁ, Nikola
The subject of my dissertation thesis is social exclusion of Pervitin users within the territory of České Budějovice and the therewith associated quality of their lives, which currently make a topical item. Though social exclusion can be seen as a frequent academical, political as well as public subject of discussion and the poor living conditions of those concerned are an issue brought to attention, no qualitative research into the social exclusion of this target group in our conditions has been made as yet. The theoretical section of my thesis describes current state of knowledge concerning the topics of social determinants of health, social exclusion, Pervitin (Methamphetamine), illegal use of drugs and therewith associated care for persons who abuse drugs and the quality of their lives, as well as the research on these topics. The following objectives were set for the research part of my dissertation thesis: 1) Identification of the effects of social exclusion on the health of Pervitin users in České Budějovice. 2) Description of the quality of life of Pervitin users in České Budějovice. For the purposes of my study, a combination of qualitative and quantitative research strategies was selected. Three research questions were set. These questions in the qualitative section deal with how social exclusion affects the health status of Pervitin users living in České Budějovice and how the users themselves reflect on the actual determinant of health. The quantitative section of my thesis poses a question how selected sociodemographic characteristics by WHOQOL-BREF relate to the domains of qualities of life. The research group for the qualitative research section consisted of users of Pervitin living in České Budějovice. There were 15 informants in total. The contingent valuation method was used to collect attributes data and the technique used was a combination of biographic-narrative and semi-structured interviews. Data acquired was analyzed using the grounded theory method with the Atlas.ti. software used to analyze the attributes data Quantitative data was collected through a questionnaire survey performed by distributing a standardized WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire to a representative sample consisting of 437 respondents, all users of Pervitin in the South-Bohemian Region. Data of quantitative nature were transposed from completed questionnaires to a data matrix and subsequently processed statistically. Descriptive statistics were performed in MS Excel and hypotheses were tested using the IBM SPSS Statistics software, version 24.0. Informants' responses were encoded and categorized, resulting in two models describing the process how Pervitin users access health care and the phenomena of the actual use within the context of the society. As a result of the WHOQL-BREF questionnaire, in the physical and mental health and social relations domain, relationship with the other sex appeared to be statistically relevant, where women showed significantly worse scores than men. Another statistically relevant relationship was confirmed between how long the drug abuse has been lasting and the physical and mental health of the user. The quality of life in these domains becomes lower proportionately with the length of Pervitin use. The dissertation thesis provides an insight into the issue of social exclusion of Pervitin users. Considering the size of the research group, the results cannot be generalized but can serve as a base for social workers aiming at Pervitin users at all levels, ranging from contact centres and field programs and addiction clinics to therapy communities and convalescent centres.

JESTŘÁB, Jakub
The aim of the diploma thesis was: "to describe the Locus of control of socially excluded Romani people", while the main research question was: "What is the specifics of Locus of control in socially excluded Romani people?" The following hypotheses were established: "The degree of social exclusion affects the Locus of control in socially excluded Romani people.", "There are differences between gender and Locus of control in socially excluded Romani." and "There are differences in Locus of control in socially excluded Romani people employed and unemployed. " To achieve the goal, a strategy of quantitative research was chosen, which was carried out using the method of questioning through standardized questionnaires Locus of control IPC scale Hanna Levenson and the questionnaire Scale of social exclusion. The research group consisted of 537 respondents from the ORP České Budějovice and Cheb 106. Hypothesis H1 was tested using the so-called correlation analysis. Hypotheses H2 and H3 were tested using the so-called T-test for two independent groups (unpaired, two-sample T-test). In the first hypothesis (H1) based on the findings, it can be stated that one of the three parties available to Locus of Control has been confirmed, as there is a statistically significant relationship between internal and random (r = 0.118; p = 0.006); external and random (r = 0.184; p = 0.000) and external and exclusive (r = -0.090; p = 0.037). In the second hypothesis (H2) it has been found that the relationship does not exist, i.e. nothing significant was found (internal - t = 1,642 and sig = 0,101; external - t = -, 270 and sig = 0,788; random - t = 1,186 and sig = 0.236). In the third hypothesis (H3) it has been found that the relationship does not exist, i.e. nothing significant was found (internal - t = 1,642 and sig = 0,101; external - t = -, 270 and sig = 0,788; random - t = 1,186 and sig = 0.236). The findings of the diploma thesis can be used in the integration of acquired knowledge into community work in socially excluded localities.
