Bibliographic citation Kahounová, Jana (2012). Czech Pension Reform through the Lens of Behavioral Economics. Prague, 2012. 79 p. Master Thesis (Mgr.) Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Social Sciences, Institute of Economic Studies. Master thesis supervisor PhDr. Michal Bauer, PhD. Abstract The field of behavioral economics can provide original insights into many areas of economic decision-making. In my thesis I use the point of view of behavioral economics to assess the current Czech pension reform plan. I study time discounting as the main determinant of saving behavior and deal with its relationship to the Czech pension reform architecture. The three fundamental features of the Czech pension reform plan that are examined are entry into the private funded scheme that is to be introduced by the Czech pension reform plan, the contribution rate into the private funded scheme and access to deposits in the private funded scheme. In order to obtain data for my research I conducted own survey. The results of statistical analysis confirmed the hypotheses of behavioral economics that people exhibit heterogeneous time discounting which influences their saving behavior and these characteristics can also determine their preference for the pension reform features. It implies a possibility for policy-makers to...
How quickly do resolutions subside? Case of the fitness attendance after the New Year's Eve
Adamcová, Barbora ; Rotschedl, Jiří (advisor) ; Čermáková, Klára (referee)
Aim of this thesis was to investigate the effect of New Year's resolutions on the gym attendance and period, during which people abandon their set resolution. Analysis was performed by ordinary least squares method using data obtained from Hamr -- Sport, a.s. and it proved a positive effect of the resolutions on the attendance of the fitness center situated in Záběhlice compound. The thesis also analyzes influence of the weather, precipitation, days of week and moths of the year on the level of attendance. According to the results of the econometric model estimation, New Year's resolutions last on average for three months. In order to verify this period a robustness test was conducted, which confirmed the result. In a questionnaire survey respondents most frequently reported, that they managed to follow their latest resolution for three months (40 %). The questionnaire also revealed that people seem to leave their long term plans most often due to their own laziness and lack of willpower, but most of them do not use any motivational tools to solve the problem of self-control (or they just rely on their will and abilities).
The influence of development of self-control and self-esteem in overweight reduction through yoga training for men
POSPÍŠILOVÁ, Michaela
In my thesis I have dealt with the overweight and obesity and its reduction by using interventional program lasting 12 weeks. The whole research was a part of a three-year research project called {\clqq}Positive Effects of Self-Control and Self-Esteem Development on Overweight control through Intervention of Yoga training`` and this project was supported by a grant from the Czech Grant Agency GACR No 406/05/2431 aimed at gender, age and overweight reduction, where four hundred volunteers took part. In my researching project 30 elderly men suffering from overweight and obesity of the first degree participated. I have used the interventional active plan with 15 elderly people in the experimental group from February 2008 till May 2008. The program of my diploma work focused not only on measuring the degree of overweight and obesity by using the values of BMI, BIA, and by measuring the amount of subcutaneous fat with a caliper, but also on identifying the role of Self-concept and Self-esteem and consequently on the positive influence of that on their mental and social parameters during the process of decreasing the current body weight by using yoga training and keeping healthy lifestyle. On concluding of the interventional active plan the gained results were evaluated by the use of statistic methods, which are included in the publication from doc. Krejčí, Factors of self-control and self-esteem in overweight reduction. The results proved that through doing yoga training regularly, at least 30 minutes a day, along with keeping healthy diet and practicing relaxation techniques, we managed decrease overweight and obesity of the first degree, maintained the weight and improved the mental state.

I deal with empathy of children in this work. I write about emotion in the theoretical part, because emotion is one of the main parts of empathy. What{\crq}s more I mention strategies, that aim to progress of the empathy. I also introduce key parameters. I describe espial and experiment that I did in the time of my practise, in the theoretical part. I was interested if children are already empathic in the preschool age. I offer demonstration of two thematic complexes that I realized during my practise at preschool.
