Reaction of starch processing potatoes on application of Lyckeby concentrate fertilizer
DOUBEK, Martin
Lyckeby concentrate is a new organic fertilizer made from waste tuber juice in the production of potato starch. The aim of the diploma thesis was to evaluate the effect of this fertilizer on selected varieties of starch potatoes. Two varieties Euroresa and Eurostarch were monitored, which are the most cultivated in the company Agrospol, Malý Bor a.s. The fertilizer was applied in two variants. The first variant was fertilized 2 t.ha-1 before planting and the second variant had a dose of 4 t.ha-1 before planting. It included an unfertilized control plot. In the experiment, the yield of tubers and starch, the starch content, the average weight of tubers, the average number of tubers and stems per tuft and the nitrogen content were evaluated. In the monitored experiment, both fertilization variants showed an increased yield of tubers and an increased yield of starch. The increase in tuber yield was influenced by the average increase in tuber weight and number. The Euroresa variety showed an increase in starch yield per hectare of 6.53% compared to the control. The Eurostarch variety had an increase in starch yield per hectare of up to 23.74% compared to the control.
Reaction of selected potato varieties to single and split application of nitrogen
MICHALÍČEK, David
The aim of the bachelor thesis is to evaluate the response of varieties with different lengths of vegetation to single and divided doses of nitrogen in potato growing. To point out the effect of nitrogen on tuber yield. The results of the experiment also consider the technology of cultivation, treatment and conditions during the vegetation. The work also records individual differences between varieties and starchy of tubers. The experiment was performed on a plot of land near Havlíčkův Brod near the experimental station in Valečov. Two variants of varieties with different vegetation times were selected for the experiment. The plot was divided into three variants of nitrogen application in three replicates. In the first variant, which was not fertilized with nitrogen, there was no high yield, but in the second variant, which was fertilized with nitrogen before and during vegetation, and in the third variant with fertilization before vegetation, the increase in yield was noticeable for selected varieties. At the same time, there were different values in determining the proportion of starch in tubers.
Bacterial interactions and secondary metabolites in plant and soil environment
Rapoport, Daria ; Marečková, Markéta (advisor) ; Lovecká, Petra (referee) ; Brabcová, Vendula (referee)
Phylum Actinobacteriota represents one of the major phyla in plant and soil environments. Known for the ability to produce numerous secondary metabolites, Actinobacteriota may affect other bacteria and plants in various ways. The thesis aimed at assessing the connection between the production of secondary metabolites and interactions of actinobacteria in plant and soil environments. In the first part, we assessed how rare actinobacteria from acid soil affect cultivable soil bacteria. We isolated a collection of actinobacteria from acid soil dominated by previously uncultivable lineage and isolated a representative described as a new family Treboniaceae and multiple other potentially novel species of known genera. The genome and metabolome analysis of Trebonia kvetii, sp.nov. gen.nov., demonstrated its ability to produce unusual and potentially novel bioactive metabolites. We designed an experiment where a single strain was co-cultivated with the total soil bacterial community of the same soil in a set up, where a free exchange of diffusible metabolites was allowed between them. Three actinobacteria strains coming from distinct lineages were selected for this interaction. Each strain significantly and specifically affected cultivable bacteria as well as the metabolite pool, part of which was induced...
Starch and protein yield in potatoes for starch production
MIČKA, Michal
The aim of this thesis was to evaluate the starch and protien content in selected potato variarients in relation to nitrogen fertilization. The literature review is a general introduction to the given problem. In the year 2018, a one-year field trial was established where three starch yield varieties Anatori, Hermes a Ornella were observed. Nitrogen fertilizer was applied in two variants. The first variant was fertilized in the spring before planting with a dose of 73 kg N/ha, the second with a dose of 111 kg N/ha.In the experiment, tuber yield, average tuber weight, starch content, starch yield, dry matter content, and crude protein yield were evaluated. In the monitored year of 2018, which had above-average temperatures and on the contrary lowerprecipitation, the best evaluation was the application of higher nitrogen fertilizerswitha dose of 111 kg N/ha. Higher application of nitrogen fertilizers compared to lower dose increased potato tuber yield (t/ha), starch (%) and starch yield (t/ha).
Logistics of supplies to Tesco stores
Ošťádalová, Michaela ; Cimler, Petr (advisor) ; Fuchs, Jan (referee)
The objective of this bachelor thesis is to describe the logistic processes of the BROP company during its supplies of potatoes to the TESCO chain store in the Czech republic, Slovakia and Hungary. This bachelor thesis also answers the question whether the customer preferences differ in these three countries in terms of potato varieties.
Cryopreservation of sensitive potato genotypes
Faltus, Miloš ; Bilavčík, Alois ; Zámečník, Jiří
This methodology describes the preparation of explants prior to cryopreservation, dehydration of shoot tips, procedure and principles of sample cryopreservation, regeneration of control plants, including evaluation of explant survival and regeneration for sensitive potato genotypes which were formerly very difficult to cryopreserve. Ministry of agriculture of the Czech Republic is the user of this methodology and it applies it in the framework of the "National program for conservation and utilization of plant genetic resources, animals and micro-organisms important for nutrition and agriculture".

Evaluation of foliar feeding effect on starch and protein yield in potatoes
KAKOS, Michal
The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of foliar nitrogen nutrition on yield and starch content and protein varieties of potatoes for starch with different length of the growing season. The literary review contains a general introduction to the topic and furthermore there is a summary of the existing development and production of potatoes both in the Czech Republic and abroad. In 2015 it was established one-year field experiment, where the effect was evaluated by 8% urea solution in variations in one application time and application in terms of solution 2 compared to the variant without the application of the urea solution. There were three sorts of potatoes with different vegetation period. It was a medium late variety Zuzanna and semi-late to late varieties Eurogrand and Eurostarch . At very specific 2015 to both precipitation and temperature be best evaluated albeit to a small extent, by the urea solution in the first term. Applications for the 2nd deadline had no significant effect on the production of starch and nitrogen compounds .
Evaluation of yield and market characteristics in set of ware potato cultivars
BÁRTA, Petr
Yield and marketing characteristics of set of ware potatoes species were evaluated in this diploma thesis. Samples of potatoes, on which was the measurement executed, were forked out on the field in Košetice in Vysočina region. This region is typical potatoe area and has significant share on the national production of ware potatoes, starch potatoes and seed potatoes with different lenght of vegetation season. The inception of major phenological phase of growth, the quantity of plants on area, the quantity of stalks of a single plant and the overall appereance of growth were valuated in the vegetation process of individual species. The quantity of tubers on one plant, the quantity of tubers on one stalk and the average weight of one tuber were evaluated after the harvest. Then was defined the overall yield of tubers, the yield of marketing tubers and their overall revenue share. The appearence of tubers, their health condition and the amount of mechanical damage was discribed in detail for every species. The final results were processed to charts and graphs and they were statistically evaluated. The medium late and the semi-early species had achieved the best results for growing. The very early and the early species had lower yield and larger share of waste.
Applying foliar aplication of urea solution and bitter salt in growing table potatoes
ZAJÍC, David
The thesis is focused on the application of foliar fertilizers in the cultivation of potatoes. The evaluation was based on one-year small-plot trial plot, which manages Selekta Pacov. An attempt was based on a comparison of revenue, market share tuber size and number of tubers in a bunch of potatoes, which were fertilized solutions bitter mangnesium sulfate and urea. The results obtained in 2015 largely reflected the drought which occurred during potato vegetation. Of backed results showed that foliar fertilization influences crop, size of table potatoes and starch content.
The influece of soil conditions by the occurrence of common scab of potato tubers
PETRŮ, Ondřej
The aim of the thesis was focused on assessing the significance of the impact of habitat on the occurrence of the common scab of potatoes. In this context, following factors were evaluated: degree and extent of infestation tubers with common scab, effect of the habitat, impact of the variety, vintage influence, the influence of fertilization with nitrogen and sulfur influence seed treatment, starch content, tuber yield, the proportion of tubers over 40 mm. The review of literature of thesis includes chapters regarding the origin of potato, potato and morphological characteristics of its growth, consumer potatoes and factors that affect the quality and yield. It mentions measures against diseases and pests. The last section is devoted to common scab of potato. The practical part deals with evaluating the impact of habitat on the incidence of common scab of potatoes. The attempt was based on the habitat with the occurrence of common scab and habitats without occurrence of common scab in Vyklantice. The results were processed in program Statistica, version 12.0. (StatSoft) function of multifactor and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). At the habitat with higher pH and KVK higher incidence of common scab was recorded. It confirmed the impact of resistance of variety on the incidence of common scab. It was not confirmed statistically significant dependence on fertilizer nitrogen fertilizer LAV and seed treatment tubers with Trichoderma strains. It confirmed a statistically significant dependence on the incidence of common scab on fertilization with SulfoGranulat.
