Master's thesis deals with water utilization in exposition of arctic wolf and canadian beaver in ZOO Brno. Theoretical part describes water utilization in ZOO and processes in water connected with nutrient enriching and uprising of water bloom. Practical part focuses on monitoring water quality in April and May 2012 and concept to solute water filtration in ponds.

Bachelor thesis deals with the description and evaluation of micro fauna of activated sludge biological sewage waste water in Kromeriz region. Furthermore, morphological description and evaluation of sludge flocs. The thesis describes the types of biota (biocenosis), which may occur in the activation tanks. There are also mentioned other incidental methods of sewage treatment such as mechanical, chemical and physicochemical methods. The experimental section describes the experiment procedure, apparatus and methods use for assessment of activated sludge. In the results the data are processed into the synoptic charts and the accompanying tables. At the end the results are evaluated.
Nitrogen availability and transformation in soils of acidified and nitrogen saturated mountain forest ecosystems

Nitrogen availability and transformation in acidified and N saturated soils of Czech (The Bohemian Forest, Ore Mountains) and Ukraine (Pop Ivan massif) mountain forest ecosystems were investigated. The study was primarily focused on the role of microbial immobilization in soil N retention. The study was based on field measurements (ion exchange resins), analyses of selected soil biochemical and microbial characteristics, and on laboratory experiments (15N labelling).
Quantification of key genes in nitrification and denitrification

The objective of the study was to explore the long-term effect of cattle grazing activities on abundance of nitrifying and denitrifying communities on overwintering area. The abundances of studied populations were determined using qPCR method and copy numbers of .i.amoA, nirS,./i. and .i.nirK./i. genes were quantified in spring and fall. High input of cattle urine and excrements with other animal activities had a significant impact on abundance of nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria, being higher in cattle impacted soils in comparison to control. Our data also showed that abundance of both bacterial communities reflected seasonal changes.
