Zero liquid discharge systems
Štylárková, Petra ; Máša, Vítězslav (referee) ; Touš, Michal (advisor)
The bachelor thesis contains a description of zero liquid discharge systems. It describes the process, which has three main parts, it is pretreatment, preconcentration and evaporation. In each parts there is a basic description of the principle of the metod, their use etc.
Syrovátka ve výživě člověka
Dangová, Taťána
This bachelor thesis is focused on the current use and importance of whey and whey products in human nutrition. Whey, previously considered to be a worthless waste serving predominantly for animal feed, is currently valued for its excellent nutritional properties, especially for its rich protein composition, many of which have demonstrable positive effect on the human organism. The treatment and processing of whey give rise to a wide range of sensory-quality products, which are used not only in the food industry. The thesis describes earlier problems of whey processing, general information concerning its chemical composition, technological operations focusing on the use of membranes processes and the nutritional and physiological significance of individual whey components, which is primarily concentrated on bioactive peptides resulting from hydrolysis of protein.
Monitoring drug removal efficiency from water by selected adsorbents
Moravčíková, Světlana ; Talašová, Lucie (referee) ; Biela, Renata (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the efficiency of removal of pharmaceuticals from drinking water by selected adsorption materials. The first part describes sources of pharmaceuticals in drinking water and possible ways of contaminating water by pharmaceuticals. Subsequently, the pharmaceuticals most commonly found in the environment - nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, antibiotics, psychiatric drugs and sex hormones - are described in more detail. Next, the thesis describes the processes used for removal of pharmaceuticals. These are activated carbon adsorption, membrane processes and advanced oxidation processes. The last chapter of the theoretical part of the thesis deals with water treatment plants, where the technologies for removing drugs are already in operation. In the practical part of this thesis an experiment was performed and evaluated, for a purpose of comparing the efficiency of selected sorption materials in the removal of diclofenac from water. Filtrasorb F100, Bayoxide E33 and GEH were used.
Water filtration and filter materials
Moravčíková, Světlana ; Talašová, Lucie (referee) ; Biela, Renata (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with water filtration. Primarily it describes slow sand filtration and rapid sand filtration. For these types of filtration, the filtration mechanisms, filtration cycles, filtration regeneration and filter layout are described in more detail. In case of the rapid filters, the most commonly used types of drainage systems are summarized. Further there is a brief introduction of diatomite filters and membrane processes used in water industry. The next chapter contains most commonly used filter materials along with their basic properties. Practical part of the thesis focuses on assessment of efficiency of selected filter materials in the removal of pollution.
Progressive methods for waste water treatment
Doležalová, Adéla ; Konečná, Eva (referee) ; Vondra, Marek (advisor)
This bachelor thesis contains a description of progressive separation methods for wastewater treatment. It deals with the basic principles of separation methods, including membrane processes, sonolysis, ozonization, photolysis and photocoalysis. Their strengths and weaknesses are also described. Part of the thesis is also evaluation and comparison of individual technologies with regard to their practical applicability.
Use of membrane processes in water treatment
Spratková, Aneta ; Kučera, Tomáš (referee) ; Biela, Renata (advisor)
This bachelor thesis contains a description of the basic properties of membrane technologies. It deals with the membrane process used in the water treatment for drinking water, especially pressure driven and electrically driven membrane processes. Also included are specific examples of water treatment plants where these technologies are used. The examples are from the Czech Republic as well as worldwide.
Membrane processes using in the beer production
KAMENÍKOVÁ, Magdaléna
The aim of the Bachelor thesis is a literature review talking about the use of membrane technology in brewing. The first part is dedicated to the production process of beer primarily on the use of filtering processes and the history of their use. The second part presents a list of all membrane processes, types of membranes and membrane technologies including examples used in the production of beer or other food production of beverages. It describes their fundamental physical and chemical attributes that ensure their functionality and predispose possibilities of use. The last part is devoted to membrane technologies used in specific processes in the production of beer (for example dealcoholation of beer, separation of beer from waste yeast or cold stabilization) with the main focus on descriptions of these processes themselves, used filters and comparisons with other methods used by.
New trends in water treatment
Zdražilová, Alena ; Kučera, Tomáš (referee) ; Biela, Renata (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis is divided into to two parts. The first part contains an overview of new trends in water treatment. The second part shows examples of use of some mentioned type of new technologies, which can be found in practice, that is on water treatment plants.
