Al-Halabiová, Ria ; Kalina, Kamil (advisor) ; Janíková, Barbara (referee)
Background: Injecting drug use is one of the most risky forms of substance use that carries risks for individuals and society. The Czech Republic is one of the countries where the prevalence of injecting drug use is high and increasing. The available data show that learning to inject has, among other things, a social character. Exploring these social circumstances, as well as the personal experiences of people who inject drugs, can be a tool for designing and implementing appropriate prevention interventions. One of these effective interventions is the Break the Cycle method, which refers to the initiation of injecting as a phenomenon that can be transmitted to inexperienced persons on the basis of social learning. Reducing the assistance of experienced persons in the initiation of injection to inexperienced persons, reducing injection in front of inexperienced persons, and refusing to discuss the benefits of injection with inexperienced persons can have a positive impact on the incidence of injection use in the Czech population. Aims and Methods: The aim of this study is to provide information on the essential phenomena related to the initiation of injection drug use and to explore the experience of clients of the Prague contact centre with their initiation of injection use and their experiences...

Background: Intravenous way of drug application is the most common between problem drug users at Prague. Due Mravčík et al. (2015), the estimate is, that there was a 15 700 intravenous drug users at Prague in 2014 (7 500 pervitin users, 2 500 heroin users and 5 700 buprenorphine users). And that they spend about 15,5 millions of syringes every year (Švůgerová, 2015). But the data in Annual report on drug situation 2014 says, there was only 2, 6 millions of syringes distributed (Mravčík et al., 2015). This means, that Prague intravenous drug users spend many more syringes, that are distributed by low-treshold services and pharmacies. That is a reason of charting of the behaviour of drug users in connection with application of addictive substance, especially how the consuption of injecting material is connected with single type of drug user. The method of half-structured interview was used for data-gathering. Informants were chosen by the technique of complete selection from the team working in the Contact Centre in Strakonice which works also in the Contact Centre in Prachatice. The team supervision was put into practice in both Contact Centres in Strakonice as well as in Prachatice. Having good relationships among the members of a team as well as with the leader is necessary for salutary course of supervision. The priority is to be straightforward, communicative and to have mutual confidence. Important factors also include the imbedded conditions of supervision which the supervisees know beforehand, such as the time-frame, the venue of the supervision, or the assignment of one permanent supervisor. For employees, the supervision represents a space for sharing feelings and experience, different perspectives on complex situations. It is a space for gaining specific support, assurance that the work carried out is meaningful or that it is carried out well. Employees consider the feedback to be a significant part of the supervision.
