Design of injection molding cooling insert for manufacturing by Selective Laser Melting
Tekeľ, Richard Martin ; Vrána, Radek (referee) ; Koutný, Daniel (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focus on design of a cooling insert so the current mold cycle time will be reduced and it will be possible to manufacture the insert by SLM. Proposed modification includes 1 cooling line with non-circular cross section and disrupt empiric cooling line design recommendations. A research into differences of conventional and additive manufacturing of injection moulding inserts was conducted as well as into theoretical principles needed for a design of cooling lines and preview of similar solutions for the given task. After simulation of current state and obtaining a value of current cycle time, 3 different designs of cooling line were chosen and simulated in order to pick the most suitable one. This cooling design was afterwards modified to get conformal shape and lower distance from critical spot. The last part of thesis interpret the results from simulation of the final cooling line design and estimation of safety against fatigue failure.
Production of prototype mold parts using rapid prototyping methods
Kaloda, Vít ; Slaný, Martin (referee) ; Zemčík, Oskar (advisor)
The diploma thesis pointed out the possibility of using rapid prototyping methods in the field of plastic injection, specifically to make shaped inserts into the injection mold. The universal frame of the injection mold was used and only the shaped inserts were changed. The main part of the work was the construction of an injection mold with the subsequent practical production of shaped inserts for a specified part. In the introductory part, a theoretical search was performed, about which production methods in combination with suitable materials could be theoretically used. Furthermore, the polyjet and DLP methods were chosen, which were used to produce components (core and cavity). The result of the diploma thesis was a summary of all parameters, comparison of materials and production methods. Polypropylene and polyamide 6 materials were injected into the injection mold, from which the first prototype products were made. Instructions for the production of shaped inserts with the recommended technology and material were created for the selected type, which could be used in practice.
Production of part Fixing washer
Para, Marcel ; Kandus, Bohumil (referee) ; Žák, Ladislav (advisor)
Order was given for the prodiction of 20 000 pieces of fixing washers. In this case was chosen injection moulding technology. Based on the research, a structural design of the mold was prepared together with the drawing documentation. From the range of materials, it was chosen polypropilene MOSTEN GB218, which is suitable for the given produstion. The simulation verified the reliability and quality of production. The parameters of injection moulding were determined by calculations, and the machine J180ADS – 180U was selected base of them. In the economic evaluation, the total costs for the production of the entire series were established on Nc=19626,43€.
Plastics Processing Technology
Kubíček, František ; Kandus, Bohumil (referee) ; Žák, Ladislav (advisor)
This work is a literary research focused on plastics processing technologies with emphasis on injection moulding technology. From this field it is focused on materials suitable for injection moulding, moulding machines and parts of it, injection moulding process, defects emerging because of wrong optimalization of injection moulding process and special techniques of injec-tion moulding.
Injection moulding technology of thermoplastics
Mikulík, David ; Přikryl, Radek (referee) ; Kučera, František (advisor)
The work deals with optimization of the technological mode of injection moulding of test specimens 1A of semicrystalline PP and amorphous PS. It also explores the influence of technological mode changes on the crystallinity of a semi-crystalline PP. Was set the reference technological mode for each of the polymers and subsequently changed the value of the injection temperature, mold temperature, the volume when you switch to holding pressure, injection and holding pressure. After relaxation of injection for time 24 h, and the mouldings and dogbones were weighed and thickness were measured at selected points. From the dogbones made of PP samples were taken for differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and crystallinity was examined. From the observed weight and thickness of dogbones were determined optimal technological modes for semi-crystalline PP and amorphous PS. Examining the influence of technological change modes on the crystallinity showed no clear dependence. Furthermore, it was found that the processing of a semicrystalline PP injection moulding reduces the value of crystallinity of the polymer, compare to starting PP granulate.
Production technology of mobile phone plastic cover
Heralt, Aleš ; Orel, Daniel (referee) ; Kandus, Bohumil (advisor)
The master´s thesis is focused on technology of injection plastics. The specified part is guard cover of mobile phone. The first part of thesis is focused on description of technology with priority on construction of form. The second part of thesis includes calculations of parameters, which are needed for production, along with techno-economic evaluation of selected construction design.
Design and optimization of a low beam LED headlamp reflector
Varhaníková, Alžbeta ; Kapusta, Martin (referee) ; Novotný, Jan (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the optical design of low beam LED reflector. The thesis aims to optimize the existing low beam LED reflector with an emphasis on achieving a legal and homogeneous light distribution. The theoretical part contains the essay of light sources and optical systems used in headlights, as well as the description of the production technology of LED reflector for different polymeric materials. The experimental part presents a detailed methodology for the optical design of low beam LED reflector in the company software. The thesis also contains a description of the original low beam LED reflector and its problematic parts. The optimization of LED reflector was performed by changing its construction and by the replacement of the light source which increased the robustness of the whole system. In the conclusion, the optimization of LED reflector is evaluated by comparing final light distributions for individual LED reflectors.
