Influence of physiogeographic conditions on runoff extremity (Case study: Comparison of small catchments in the central area of Šumava Mountains)

In connection with the increasing occurrence of extreme hydrological situations, new opportunities for flood protection are emerging. Among these options also includes the gradually increase water retention capacity and to reduce runoff variability in headstream areas. This bachelor thesis deals with the comparison of three physical geographical different river basins in the headstream area of Šumava mountains. The main aim of this study is a research influence of physiogeographic conditions on runoff extremity in the catchment of individual selected streams on the basis of a comparative analysis. Extremity runoff is represented by selected flood situations that were processed on the basis of data from the experimental monitoring of Department of Physical Geography and Geoecology, Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague. The opening part of this thesis consists of literary research, physical geographical and hydrographical characteristics of all catchment areas. The main part of the thesis is focused on description and comparison of extreme situations in the monitored catchments. The conclusion of the thesis is an evaluation, which consists in the assessment of the influence of physiogeographic conditions on runoff extremity. Glacial Outburst Lakes in Kyrgyzstan (case study: Glacier Complex Adygine)

In the context of changing climate retreat of mountain glaciers occurs at many places on the planet. One of the consequences is emergence or increase of the outburst risk at lakes situated in front of the glacier terminus. Flood caused by the glacial lake outburst often appear suddenly and can threaten settlements in lower parts of a valley. In the Kyrgyz mountains of Tien Shan there are about 350 lakes at risk of outburst, long-term monitored and dangerous locations are presented in this work. The highest attention is paid to Adygine area where several lakes of different genetic type and age can be found. The largest lake of the locality, the Upper Adygine lake, is subjected to more detailed survey aiming to asses its hydrological regime and to confirm or disprove speculation about outburst possibility of this lake. Water quality development in Mladoticky Brook catchment area

Water quality was one of the biggest problems of environment in beginning of 90. of 20th century in the Czech republic. Since 90. the level of water quality was in czech rivers rapidly better. Mainly in big rivers have accomplished great changes. The small rivers haven't notice that rapid changes. The Czech republic, after entrance to the European Union have committed to comply with Directive 91/271/EEC reduce urban waste water and which should have big influence to water quality also in small rivers. During 90. industry technology, agriculture, cleaning technology of waste water etc. reached big development. Therefore the presumption is higher quality of water in the Czech republic since 90. Goal of the thesis is comparison of results from 1999-2000 with results from 2012- 2014 from Mladoticky brook catchment, which is lined up to small river catchments (79,77km2 ). From this comparison there is obvious trend, if conditions of the water quality are really better or not since 90. Hydrological regime of selected lakes in the High Tatra Mts.

This diploma thesis deals with morphometric analysis and hydrological regime of Skalnaté pleso lake and Hincové Oká lakes, especially the lake level fluctuation, during the period 2011 - 2014. One of the tasks was the bathymetric mapping of observed locations. For Hincové Oká lakes was it the first mapping of bathymetry at all. The hydrological regime and lake level fluctuation regime of observed locations shows interesting differences from the other Tatra lakes whose hydrological regime is controlled by precipitation amounts. The annual culmination of Hincové Oká lakes (the largest lake) is shifted into the spring caused by melting snowpack. When there is no rainfall for a couple of days Skalnaté pleso lake often dries up, even during summer months, when levels of most Tatra lakes reach their maximum values. However summer drying is shortterm. Lake level fluctuation regime is very dynamic. After a strong rainfall event its level rises very steeply, up to 0,14 m per hour. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Hydrology of mountain seepage lakes

The aim of this thesis is a review of the hydrological balance of mountain lakes, focusing on lakes without ground outflow, or with a huge share of seepage upon the outflow. This thesis deals, step by step, with the methods of collecting data for each input and output to the hydrological system. It is also concerned with the possibilities of monitoring ground water movement and rainfall-runoff models.
Observation of annual water level changes on lakes in High Tatra Mts.

The presented thesis deals with annual lake level fluctuation in the High Tatra Mountains. It focuses on the related issue of the hydrological regime of lakes and the process of observation of level fluctuation depending on the genetic type of a lake. On the basis of the available literature, the thesis aims to determine the causes of annual changes in the level fluctuation and to compare these with other alpine lakes. The findings are applied to the lake level fluctuation data originating from the Skalnaté pleso and Hincové Oká. Through a comparison of level fluctuation of lakes in the High Tatra Mountains and the Šumava Mountains significant differences in the annual running of lake levels were found. By contrast, the comparison with the lakes in glacial area, whose hydrological regime is dependent on other physical-geographical factors, show that the annual running level fluctuations are similar. Biodiversity and ecology of makrophytes in selected standing waters in the floodplain of the Lužnice river

This is a field study describing seven backwaters in the floodplain of the Luznice river. The backwaters include alluvial pools, river arms and oxbows which differ in their genesis, morfology, hydrological régime, macrophyte vegetation and chemistry of water and sediments. This study was carried out in the Trebonsko - Protected Landscape Area and Biosphere Reserve, South Bohemia, Czech Republic. The data of species composition of the vegetation on transects of the backwaters are supplemented by water and sedimet analyses.
Evaluation of flood flows in the basin Jenín

The aim of this thesis is to evaluate flood flows in the basin Jenín stream. Part of this work is the description of the territory that I prepare from the perspective of the geomorphological, geological, pedological, hydrological, agro-natural, climatic and biotic. For flood flows, I used data for the hydrological year 2009 that I acquired from Thomson weir, where meters are installed. In the first part of this thesis, I conducted field research the functionality of the drainage group. The result is data that recorded performance shafts. In the next section I dealt with the evaluation of quantitative indicators of precipitation, precipitation operation in relation to catchment flows on the cap and providing a critical period in terms of the spring thaw.
