French (language) revolution: the republican calendar and the metric system

This thesis deals with the Republican Calendar and the metric system in France during the French Revolution, which is now seen primarily from the political point of view. The aim is to show the philosophical and ideological significance revealable when examining the historical development of these two systems. The work also consists of a personal research, which is devoted to use of the Republican Calendar and the System of Units and Measurements from the Revolution to the present.
German texts by some representatives of national revival in the Czech lands of the 19th century, because of aspects of historical linguistics

In the first half of the 19th century, the emancipation efforts of the ethnic groups living under domination of bigger nations grew stronger. Emancipation movements were influenced by the humanistic ideas of Johann Gottfried Herder, proclaiming the language as the most important characteristic feature of a nation and that every nation has the natural right to claim it's identity. Motivated by these concepts, the Czechs identified the enforcement of Czech language with the fight for the nation. This Diploma thesis deals with the textual analysis of the German manuscripts by the Czech revivalists Karel Alois Vinařický, František Palacký and Pavel Josef Šafařík, regarding the state of education in the Czech lands and the comparison between these manuscripts. The textual analysis (Brinker: 2001) reflects the communication field, the purpose of writing the text, circumstances of their creation, the role of the emittent and the recipient and finally the intention of the author, which is related with the indenfitication of the text function. All texts contain elements of the text type "language defense". A linguistic analysis of a popular science prose

The topic of the diploma work is the analysis of the theory proze in the second half of the seventeenth century with the title Economical books and its comparizon with the two older works published by the end of the 16th century under the general title The Economist. The first part of the diploma work notices the structure of the separate texts, sees the grafical form of the texts and compares its differences. Next part of the work contains the study and comparizon of the individual areas of the human activities participating on the economy which was reflected by the humanistic writers. A special regard is given to the terms of administrative and economical character and the change in thein use from 16th to the 18th century. The work analyses the prevention of the landed estate running in the imagination of the baroque scholar, time evidence and three model examples: brewery, fishpond cultivation, forestry as the typical branches of the old czech economy.The last part of the work is the vocabulary of the chosen ideas dealing with the area of economy and administration of the landed estate formed and divided by the texts of the individual authors. The aim of the work is to evaluate the development of the language in the economical area and to compare the expected activitiies of the individual participants in the economical life and to make a list of terminological units.
