Risk Management of Grant Projects

The subject of the thesis is to carry out a risk analysis and proposals for introducing risk measures in a project from a higher education environment, which is supported by a grant program: Operational Programme Research, Development and Education. The main topic of this thesis is the solution of possible situations that the project team can encounter during the implementation of projects and which can negatively affect the projects.

Legal regulation of European programs in the programming period 2014 - 2020

1 Summary This thesis deals with European programs and their legislation. Author especially characterizes the programming period 2014 - 2020 in comparison with the programming period 2007 - 2013. In the first part of the thesis the author defines the fundamental institutions of the European programs. This is especially the definition of economic, social and territorial cohesion as one of the most important policies of the European Union, as well as the definition of the programming period as a seven-year cycle, during which there is a drawing funds from the European Union. On these fundamental concepts continues to define European structural and investment funds, serving as a financial tool for drawing funds from the European Union, the operational programs and priority axes, the Czech Republic for a particular programming period determined. This is all within the context of the budgetary policy of the Czech Republic together with the definition of legislation at both national and European level. Financial aspects of liability for environmental damage

This diploma thesis provides an overview of the aspects connected with financial assurance of liability for environmental damage. First parts of the work define the frame for this topic through its essentials terms and theoretical basis. Also there are introduced the main functions of economic instruments. Part 3 briefly focuses on the ways of codification of liability in the international public law. The main part of this work is dedicated to an adoption of the polluter pays principle to the European Union law and the Czech national law system. Thus parts 4 and 5 describe and evaluate efficiency of this liability system from the perspective of obligation to assure a financial security. Last part gives a list of possible instruments which may be used as a suitable financial security according to the statute n. 167/2008 Sb.

Prague City Archives and its role in Czech information society

This bachelor thesis is focused on introduction of Prague city archives, as important memory institution belonging to Czech information society. First chapter of this thesis is dedicated to historical development of archives. In the next chapter are defined functions, activities and services of this institution. Next parts of the thesis describe buildings, where the archives is located, organizational structure of this institution as well as the structure of collections, funds, and library. The last chapter is touching the major problem of Prague city archives which is storing of electronic archivals.

State funds

This thesis deals with the issue of funding public needs through State funds. It is not very well known to the public, but very interesting institution with which everyone can encounter in everyday life. The main objective of this work is to define and evaluate the possible development of the State funds in the Czech Republic de lege ferenda. The sub- objectives include the legal framework for the functioning of the State funds (their financing and organizational structure ) and a comparison of Czech legislation with foreign, specifically examples of State funds in Poland and the Slovak Republic. The thesis is composed of five chapters. First part is designed to lay down the theoretical foundation for further explanation, readers familiar with the area of public finances, namely the budgetary management. The second chapter defines and describes the system of fund off-budget funds. The third part is devoted to the various State funds in the Czech Republic (currently there are six of them), their common features and brings positives and negatives of their existence - as de lege lata. Hedge funds: investment strategy and regulation

Even though hedge funds account for a small portion of global investment funds, they have achieved a strong position in investment options for institutional investors in last two decades. Due to recent financial crisis and a fear of possible risks connected with hedge funds, regulators start to focus more on regulation of this industry. This thesis focus mainly on investment strategies of hedge funds and on regulatory efforts in the USA. Before the work describes this, it is necessary to define and specify them. Then some of common used investment strategies are introduced in order to better describe the unique role of hedge funds to reader. The State Fund for the Environment on the Czech Republic

This diploma thesis deals with the State Environmental Fund of the Czech Republic which main objective is to support ecological measures taken in accordance to the State Environmental Policy and principles of the environmental protection of the Czech republic. Apart from that it represents basic economical instrument of fulfilment of duties imposed by international treaties on environmental protection and by the membership of the European Union. The main goal of this thesis is to describe this intitution and to try to outline possible development de lege ferenda. For the accurate delimitation of the Fund in the structure of public finances, the thesis contains a large general part dealing with public funds. The diploma thesis is divided into seven chapters. The first chapter deals with the theoretical foundation which is necessary for understanding of the other factors. The reader familiarises himself with the area of public finance and financial management. This diploma thesis shows a view of offered possibilities of financing of agricultural enterprises by means of subsidies. Further it describes the present state and view of obtained subsidies of a selected agricultural enterprise. A content of suggestion part of diploma thesis is an elaboration of Application for agricultural machinery from the Rural Development Programme. Subsequently, a plan of depreciations is drawn up, key accounting cases are placed on account, and impacts on the economic outturn in the given accounting period is illustrated.
