Selected Socio-economic Aspects of Russian Integration in the Czech Republic
NOVOTNÁ, Tereza
This diploma thesis is a part of the project entitled Selected aspects of integration of foreigners living in the Czech Republic and their relation to social work (reg. no. GAJU 101/2022/S). It presents an insight into the issue of migration and integration of foreigners from a third country (Russians), from a social and economic perspective. The aim is to find and analyze selected socio-economic aspects related to the integration of Russians in the Czech Republic. Three hypotheses were chosen for the research. H1: Language proficiency of foreigners has an impact on their employment. Statistically significant relationships between language proficiency (communication skills, comprehension of written text, ability to write in the Czech language and satisfaction with one's own knowledge of the Czech language) and the observed economic aspects were demonstrated. On the other hand, there was no statistical correlation between the level of understanding of the spoken word in Czech and the other observed characteristics (questions 25-70 in the questionnaire). H2: Foreigners who have been in the Czech Republic for more than 5 years show a higher level of social inclusion. There was a statistically significant correlation between the arrival of Russian respondents and the subjective assessment of foreigners' integration into the Czech Republic. H3: Integration of the Russian minority is more difficult than it was before due to the invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation. The last hypothesis showed a weak test power (due to the number of respondents (3) who came to Czechia after the start of the war) and in addition, their answers differed from each other. The research methodology consisted of quantitative research, using an interview and a questionnaire. The research was carried out both online and by collection at the Centre for the Integration of Foreigners in Prague, where a total of 66 Russians participated. The scientific contribution of the thesis is mainly in understanding the Russian minority, mapping the individual aspects of integration in our country, but also highlighting the main problematic areas and their solutions, as well as who to turn to in which situation (state and non-state organizations).
Vietnamese and their integration in the Czech Republic
HŮLKOVÁ, Veronika
This thesis deals with the integration of Vietnamese in the Czech Republic. Within the integration, two areas are examined in this thesis - linguistic and social. The aim of this thesis is to find out to what extent the Vietnamese living in the Czech Republic are integrated in selected dimensions into the majority of the society. This thesis is written as a part of the project No. 101/2022/S Selected aspects of integration of foreigners living in the Czech Republic and their relationship to social work. The duration of this project is set at 3 years. The fulfilment of the aim is achieved using a quantitative research strategy. A survey method with questionnaire technique is used. The research population consists of 98 respondents. The findings cannot be generalized to the entire population of the Vietnamese in the Czech Republic. The data are analysed using SASD software version 1.4.10 and SPSS software version 28.0. The significance level is set at = 0.05, 0.01 and 0.001. It is confirmed that respondents with a longer length of stay (11 years or more) evaluate the level of Czech language skills (reading and writing) negatively. On the contrary, respondents with a length of stay of 4-10 years rate their reading and writing skills as average. In the terms of social integration, the higher the respondents rate their social status in the Czech Republic and in their country of origin, the better is their knowledge of the Czech language. The rating of their knowledge of the Czech language increases when comparing their social status with the Czechs and other foreigners living in their vicinity. Better knowledge of the Czech language also increases in relation to recognition from the Czechs and feeling at home in the Czech Republic. Respondents with better knowledge of the Czech language feel more integrated into the Czech society. The statistically significant association is not confirmed for the other variables.
Problematics of Nursing Care about Foreigners During Hospitalization.
VÍTKOVÁ, Aneta
This bachelor thesis deals with the problematics of nursing care of foreigners during hospitalization. The choice of this topic is based on more frequent encounters of health professionals with patients from other cultures. This fact is largely impacted by migration, where foreigners travel to Czech Republic for work, and also for the quality of Czech healthcare. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to comprehensively map the problematics of nursing care of foreigners and to point out the challenges or areas that could be improved in terms of quality care for foreigners. The empirical part of this bachelor thesis contained qualitative and quantitative research survey. For quantitative research survey we chose non-standardized questionnaire. The questionnaire consisted of 26 questions and it was distributed among nurses at surgical and orthopedic departments and at the surgical or orthopedic ICU of hospitals in the Vysočina region. A total of 102 respondents participated in the questionnaire survey. The obtained data were processed in MS Excel using pivot tables and graphs. For qualitative research survey we chose observation. This research survey took place in the surgical department, where foreign patients often commute for planned procedures. The results of the questionnaire survey clearly do not indicate that nurses with longer experience have more knowledge in the field of nursing care of foreigners. For example, it was found that almost half of the research group does not know the specifics of other cultures. However, they are able to deal with possible language barriers. From the observation we can highlight the communication of nurses with patients. The communication of nurses and their use of interpreter took place without major difficulties. Furthermore, the nurses passed on the necessary information to each other and were able to provide appropriate care to the patients. This bachelor thesis can be used a basis for further educational materials and thus contribute to the process of improving nursing care of foreigners.

Integration of Nepalese living in České Budějovice.
KORANDOVÁ, Tereza
The aim of the work was to find out how Nepalis living in České Budějovice are integrated in selected areas (language skills, education, work included in the community in their place of residence). Another goal was to describe how they maintain their cultural customs, traditions, and possibly religion. Find out if and how they use social services offered by selected organizations in České Budějovice. A qualitative research strategy was chosen using the methodology. The research group consists of Nepalis, especially those who run "Indian restaurants" in České Budějovice, but also their family members. Information was obtained from informants through interviews according to the instructions. The questions focused on the process of integration of foreigners from their subjective point of view into Czech society in selected areas. Data collection took place by deliberate selection of Nepalis living in České Budějovice legally. Because Nepalis live in communities here, they have similar customs, traditions and hobbies. The research was already saturated with 8 informants, no new categories of responses appeared during coding. According to the statistics of the MVČR (2020), a large number of Nepalis do not live in České Budějovice (only 39). Nevertheless, they want to integrate and function as regular citizens. In this process, however, they face a number of obstacles that do not make it easier for them to integrate into society. The contribution of the work is a description of the integration of Nepalis in České Budějovice with the possibility of insight into their experience, the effort to find friends and enjoy life in a country unknown to them. Another benefit is the characteristics of the built background, which the Nepalis created here. This can serve as a screening for employees of non-profit organizations, who could possibly try to establish cooperation with Nepalis and help them remove barriers to integration.
National minorities on the labor market in Pilsen region.
ZÁHORČÁKOVÁ, Tereza
At present, the issue of national minorities living in the Czech Republic is often discussed. However, it is perceived rather in a negative context, in the context of the unequal position of minorities in the majority society. The key problems of national minorities in our country include: recognition of education obtained abroad, language barrier, low qualification. Furthermore, prejudices and mistrust of employers, discrimination resulting from ignorance of foreigners, complexity of valid labour law legislation, obstacles to finding a job in the Czech Republic resulting from residence status, illegal employment and the issue of not always appropriately chosen support for integration of foreigners and minorities into society. The goal of the bachelor's thesis will be to find out whether citizens of national minorities in the Pilsen region feel unequal in the Czech labour market and to find out information about working conditions to which national minorities are exposed in our country. Quantitative research will be used, using the method of questionnaire survey, supplemented by a semi-structured interview. The sample is clients of the Labour office Pilsen, clients of employment agencies, officials from the Labour office Pilsen and employees of employment agencies. The results of the bachelor's thesis can be used for employees of Labour offices, employment agencies, employers of various companies, but also for those who come to the Czech Republic to work and want to better understand the Czech labour market and know the potential risks and dangers they may encounter. The bachelor thesis should further focus on the fight against racism, the protection of human rights, the creation of tolerance towards minorities and building of a multicultural society.
