Power consumption analyzer
Spielmann, Ondřej ; Galetka, Josef (referee) ; Götthans, Tomáš (advisor)
The subject of master’s thesis is introduction with the principles of measuring voltage, current and electrical power in DC and AC systems. Is designed measurement system for normal household. Measurement system includes pricing and client billing. User interface Ethernet-based is implemented.
Recognition of Home Appliances Based on Their Power Consumption Characteristics
Vaňková, Klára ; Černocký, Jan (referee) ; Schwarz, Petr (advisor)
The goal of this master's thesis is to design and implement a system for recognition of home appliances based on their power consumption characteristics. This system should identify the individual home appliances from measurements of the total household consumption. The acquired data could be used for statistics of usage of a particular appliance and subsequent detection of errors or non-standard behavior of the measured device. An important part of my work is a design and hardware implementation of a unit for measuring and a system for processing the measured signal. The first version of my project uses pulse output of an electrometer to measure the energy. This method does not provide a sufficient sample rate but it's a quick way to obtain data for processing and analysis. The second version monitors the power consumption with a multi-purpose AC converter which measures active and reactive power with the desired sample rate. The data is then processed and recognized by two classifiers - HMM and KNN.
Load analyser for industrial networks
Trávník, Kryštof ; Mlýnek, Petr (referee) ; Lieskovan, Tomáš (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is focused on developing an application, which is consisted of a web application and a web server. In the theoretical part are described topics such as DLMS protocol, specificationCOSEM, attacks on service denial, tools for generating denial attacks, and key parts of Docker. The app which is created is sending a request to smart meters together with Denial of service attacks. Hping3 is used for generating DoS attacks and several options of attack are available. The app is created in Java. Received results are shown in form CSV and also graphically in the web application.
Application for Smart Meter Data Readout with Subsequent Sending to the Central Database
Navrátil, Tomáš ; Mašek, Pavel (referee) ; Zeman, Kryštof (advisor)
This thesis explores new posibilities of using mobile devices, specificaly cell phones and tablets which support the USB OTG feature, to read data from smart electricity meters. To achieve this goal, an application for OS Android was developed in practical part of this thesis. This mobile application communicates with electricity meters via optical sensor serving as serial line and using the DLMS/COSEM standard. Acquired data are saved to a remote database for further use.
Visualization of communication routes in the energetics
Pečeňa, Vít ; Šťastný, Ladislav (referee) ; Franek, Lešek (advisor)
This thesis describes the design of an application to view the positions electrometers communicating over Power Line (PLC). Applications should find the main use in the field of project Smart Grids. Furthermore, the work resolves selection of libraries required for creation of applications and the proposal itself.
Monitoring the electricity consumption of the building
Franěk, Vít ; Bátora, Branislav (referee) ; Janík, Daniel (advisor)
The thesis deals with the issue of metering devices in buildings that provide instant and cumulative information for electricity providers and consumers. This information is provided by individual metering devices in order to reduce costs and optimize energy consumption. The thesis presents a theoretical analysis of the metering devices and their subsequent practical use for metering and evaluation of the results with recommendations for consumers.
Cyber security tester of elements used in industrial networks and energy industry
Březina, Jiří ; Mlýnek, Petr (referee) ; Lieskovan, Tomáš (advisor)
The following is a detailed discussion of the communication protocols that work in these networks, from the older and more industrially based Modbus protocol, through the IEC 60870 protocol suite, to the most commonly used protocol today, DLMS/COSEM. The paper also summarizes the most common current attack patterns on DLMS/COSEM protocol vulnerabilities. The thesis aims to implement a tester that tests the security of smart grid elements mainly on the vulnerabilities described in the thesis. The tester primarily focuses on the vulnerabilities of overwhelm and replay attacks and evaluating the execution of these attacks in a laboratory environment.
Shared energy economy
Hráček, Martin ; Maule, Petr (referee) ; Vaněk, Jiří (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis focuses on the use of a photovoltaic power plant in a block of flats, electric power distribution to individual consumers and the economic impact. The first part describes the basic principle of the photovoltaic power plant and a description of the individual parts used for the implementation. The second part is devoted to the operational legislation of the Czech Republic and the foreign operation examples. The third part already provides the specific implementation proposal example, the specific implementation budgets and the economic evaluation of the entire project.
Cyber security tester of elements used in industrial networks and energy industry
Březina, Jiří ; Mlýnek, Petr (referee) ; Lieskovan, Tomáš (advisor)
This thesis deals with the issue of security analysis of DLMS/COSEM protocol and exploitation of these vulnerabilities in real Smart Grid environment. Thesis starts with a description of power grids in the past and present, introducing the environment of modern power grids and the smart grid elements used in it this power grids to reader. This is followed by a detailed discussion of the communication protocols that operate in these networks, beginning from the older and more industrially based Modbus protocol to the DLMS/COSEM protocol which is most used today and his various components and security. The most common current models of link vulnerability attacks are also summarized in the paper. The thesis aims to implement a tester that tests the security of smart grid elements, mainly on the vulnerabilities described in the thesis. The tester primarily focuses on the vulnerability called replay attack and evaluating the execution of this attack in a laboratory environment.
