The ideal of women beauty before and after 1989 - discourse analysis of Vlasta magazine

The thesis interprets the ideal of women beauty before and after 1989 in terms of sociological and culture discourse in Vlasta magazine. The key premise of the thesis is the claim that ideal of women beauty differs before and after 1989. It is possible to expect influence of politic system, social structure and culture forms on discourse of women beauty. Character of this thesis is theoretically-empiric. The sociologic gender theory serves as the frame for chosen topic. Research is based on analysis of discourse of women beauty in Vlasta magazine in 1975 and 2005. The goal of overall analysis is to provide series of detailed analysis which describe general magazine topics and role of the magazine in certain historical period beside discourse of beauty. I have chosen qualitative sociological method called discursive analysis for my thesis. Ambition of the thesis is to analyze one specific social discourse and introduce all key social, historical and culture aspects which can influence the discourse and use Vlasta magazine as its concrete case. Mother - a TV series that failed. The use of ideology and propaganda in dramatic production

The topic of the diploma thesis is the encoding of an ideological message in normalization series of Czechoslovak Television, specifically in the series Matka (Mother). This nine-part television saga was filmed in 1975 on the occasion of the XV Congress of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia, planned for April 1976. Most normalization series had one thing in common - through the story of ordinary people, with whom the viewers could easily identify - they passed to the viewers the attitudes, the system of rules or the interpretation of history seen through the prism of the ruling party. The series Matka also followed this practice, and using the story of a woman - a laundress - showed the development of the labour movement in Bohemia. The theoretical part of the thesis consists of clarifying the concepts - ideology, propaganda and normalization; at the same time, it reflects the history of Czechoslovak Television and its importance as one of the most powerful tools of propaganda in the period of normalization. In this respect, television series, due to the immense popularity with TV viewers, were very effective. Family Policy in the Context of New Social Risks

The aim of the rigorosum thesis is to understand the way whether and how (what discourses) strategic documents of family policy of the Czech Republic construct new social risks. The presented rigorosum deals with family policy and the parallel phenomenon of new social risks. The structure of society is changing. Together with the new structure of society, new social risks and new kinds of social problems emerge. The question is whether this fact reflects the family policy of the Czech Republic. The thesis discusses whether family policy at all takes into account (what way) the new social risks faced by families with children. In its sub-project, however, it does not neglect the role of social work. On an epistemological basis of social constructionism is in the thesis of qualitative research strategy used method of analysis of documents. Methodologically, it is a discourse analysis, one of the possibility of discourse-analytical research is chosen a critical discourse analysis. The thesis is therefore subjected to a critical discursive analysis of strategic family policy documents (2005- 2017), with the specification of the Czech Republic. Czech media approach toward the implementation of state school-leaving examination 2010 (bias analysis)

The bachelor thesis called "Czech media approach toward the implementation of state school-leaving examination 2010 (bias analysis) comprehends attitudes of the selected periodicals (dailies Právo, Mladá fronta DNES and Lidové noviny; magazines Reflex and Respekt) towards the question of state school-leaving examination implementation on Czech high schools. Since we are talking about education, with no doubts affecting marginal public proportion, media devoted a lot of space to this issue as to one of the most discussed topics within the year 2010. The bachelor thesis endeavour is addressed to research whether in these concrete attitudes of the given periodicals might be observed bias marks in the way of information presenting. There will be two various methods applied - quantitative content analysis and discourse analysis. Background data for both these methods will constitute of articles issued in the above mentioned periodicals during October 2010 (thus at a time when test run for the state school-leaving examinations was held). Czech Political Parties and the European Union between 1996 and 2009

The Rigorous's thesis Czech Political Parties and the European Union between 1996 and 2009 presents how the Czech political parties (ODS, CSSD, KSCM and KDU-CSL) percieved the European Union and the role of the Czech Republic in the EU in the given period. The thesis departs from both basic constructivist principles and the concept of polity ideas. Further, it presents four ideal types of political system: Federal State, Intergovernmental Cooperation, Economic Community and Network. Then, looking at the individual political parties' perspective on selected components of polity ideas the thesis assigns the political parties to the ideal types.
