Motivation of combat sports

Titleofwork: Combat sports motivation. Workobjective: The aim of this diploma thesis is to determine motives for participating in certain combat sports and to examine if the individual combat sports vary from each other or whether there is a common motive. The further objective is to examine a motive for combat sports in general. Usedmethods: The diploma thesis is designed as a quantitative research using a questionnaire survey. To compile the anonymous questionnaire, the international multidimensional standardized questionnaire The Sport Motivation Scale "SMS-28" was used. The standardized questionnaire was supplemented by questions to determine the sex, age and type of combat sport. The data acquired were then statistically evaluated using pivot tables and research questions were acquired by Pareto analysis. Results: It was discovered that the most important component of motivation for combat sports in general is the inner motivation to experience, on the contrary, the least important for the respondents was the external regulation. The individual combat sports differentiated then by a different spectrum of motivation. Name: Development of mixed martial arts in Czech republic Objectives: The purpose of this thesis is to analyze wide public audience in the Czech Republic and its awarenessof martial arts and sports in general. The thesis will be mainly focused on martial art called MMA. Finding general information about the clubs involved in MMA in the Czech Republic , for example: How long they work, how many members they like. In theoretical part deals with the history and development of combative martial arts , both in the Czech Republic and abroad. The research , part two analyzes conducted polls. Methods Quantitative research, Method questionnaire survey. Results The survey showed that the general public people in the Czech Republic has a relatively high knowledge of martial arts and MMA . In the second survey questioned MMA clubs shows that most MMA clubs operating in the Czech Republic for more than 10 years , have more than 100 members , aged 21-45let . Mapping the occurrence of teaching martial activities in PE at primary schools and grammar schools in Prague

Title: Mapping the occurrence of teaching martial arts in physical education at primary schools, secondary schools and grammar schools in Prague. Objective: The goal of the research is to find out how education in P.E. classes reflects the recommendation of framework education programme about education of martial arts, what percentage of clasśes do martial arts take in P.E. and to describe current trends of implementing martial arts to the curriculum or discover the reasons behind not implementing from the P.E. teacher's perspective. Methods: Analysis of literature of the given topic. We chose a survey as a research instrument. Based on previously published survey, which asked about the education of martial arts at a smaller selection of schools in Moravian region (Reguli, Ďurech, Vít, 2007), we created a purposeful survey. The survey was made on a platform service survio.com and distributed via e-mail to individual headmasters. They passed on the survey to P.E. teachers Results: Based on the evaluation of the survey, it was found that 75 of 84 teachers involve combat activities in P.E. classes. Acute effect of warm-up on the force of a punch

Title: Acute effect of a warm-up on the force of a punch Objectives: The aim of this diploma thesis is to test whether a warm-up before a performance affects the force of a punch at a sample participants practicing full-contact combat sports. Further goal is to analyze a change in the force of a punch depending on elapsed time after warming up. Methods: Each participant in this experimental study with intra-subject design went through all phases of the measurement, where the force of a punch was tested in four specified times (before a warm-up and then 4, 10 and 25 minutes after the warm-up). Results: No statistically significant effect of a warm-up on the force of a punch was observed, nor was there a statistically significant change in the force of a punch during the time following a warm-up. Comparison of reaction times between combat sport athletes competing in matches and technical patterns

Title: Comparsion of reaction times between combat sport athletes competing in matches and technical patterns. Objectives: The main goal of this bachelor thesis is to compare the simple reaction times between two disciplines (sports fighting and technical patterns) in Taekwondo (WT, ITF) and Karate (JKA, ČSKe). Methods: To collect the data, we used a purpose-built questionnaire containing questions about basic demographic information, martial art and its discipline, length of experience, achieved technical level, and self-rated reaction speed. We measured reaction times using a purpose-built test through PsychoPy3 and the Pavlovia platform. The entire participation took place on-line and was mainly distributed through advertisements on social media and contacting associations of the studied sports. A total of 112 people took part in the study. Results: We found no statistically significant differences in mean reaction times between the sports fighting and technical patterns. Influence of combat sports in football performance

Title: Influence of combat sports in football performance Objectives: The main objective is to find a connection between combatives and football and to present the possible benefits of including combat in the training of football players. To find the answer to the question why to include combat exercises in the training process. Find out whether fights can help players on the field during the match or even as injury prevention. Introduce famous athletes who have incorporated combatives and martial arts into the training process and helped them become leaders in their sport. Make six excercises, which can be put into training proces of footballers. Methods: The work uses a thorough review of literature and relevant online resources. The analysis of sources then allows synthesis of the findings, which is described in the theoretical part. The practical part uses the acquired theoretical basis for creating combat exercises suitable for football players. Results: Due to a thorough search of resources and study of the literature, six exercises were created, which can be included in the training process. Combat sport modifications for pupils with autistic spectrum disorder in elementary school curriculum

Title: Combat sport modifications for pupils with autistic spectrum disorder in elementary school curriculum. Objective: The goal of this thesis is to summarize and analyze available information regarding combat sports, role of combat sports in physical education on elementary school and autistic spectrum disorder. Knowledge from these areas should then be used for compiling a set of exercises that would modify the schooling of combat sports for pupils with autistic spectrum disorder in elementary school. Methods: Analysis method and critical research were used to compile information needed to explain the given phenomena. In the final part of the thesis, compiled data were summarized via the synthesis method. Results: After thorough research of available literature, author proposes basic principles and recommendation for the education of combat sport for pupils with ASD. Then a set of exercises was created, which contains specific modifications for each given exercise. Analysis of Octagon MMA's marketing mix

Title: Analysis of Oktagon MMA's marketing mix Objectives: The main objective of this bachelor's thesis is to determine the functionality of the marketing mix of the Oktagon MMA organization and to propose appropriate measures to improve its quality. Methods: Both primary and secondary research was used to achieve the objective. The primary research was carried out using a quantitative method using an electronic questionnaire to the organization's fans and the qualitative method was conducted in the form of a semi-structured interview with the organization's owner. Secondary data was obtained from freely available internet sources as well as from internal information provided by employees of the organization. Results: Based on research data, proposals have been developed to improve the Octagon MMA marketing mix in the areas of product, price, distribution and communication. Furthermore, the results of the research provided information about the prevailing positive perception of the organization's marketing mix by its fans. Flexibility development and its impact on judo training

Title: The development of flexibility and its influence on sports training of judo Objectives: Analysis of the influence of flexibility in sports performance in judo and its appropriate methods of development. Methods: The diploma thesis was processed as a descriptive-analytical work in the form of a critical literary resource search. Results: Based on the literature search, it was found that judo in the main part of the training unit leads to the development of flexibility. It influences the speed of execution of the technique and improves sports performance. Flexibility can be amplified not only by the traditional stretching method, bud also by strength training. However, this is not the case with the development of maximum strength. There is no established test in testing methodology for evaluating flexibility. Rise of MMA in Czech republic according to journalists

The Bachelors thesis Rise of MMA in the Czech Republic according to journalists explores the way Czech journalists feel about the popularity rise of MMA in Czech media and among the general public. The main method of research are half-structured in-depth interviews with journalists, who cover or used to cover MMA in media. These interviews focus on the process of selecting the news and new topics in media, where addressed journalists work or used to work. The main topics of interviews are the main reasons for the sudden rise of the popularity of MMA, the current ranking of MMA among mainstream sports, and prediction of its possible future. Thus interviews reflect the theoretical part and follow it up. Since the interviews are half-structured, apart from main topics they follow specific and unique topics based on the way the interview was going and specifics of media, where every answerer works.
