Mixed builging recycled material for pavement subgrades
Masař, Daniel ; Hýzl, Petr (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
The Bachelor thesis is focused on the use of mixed building recycled material for pavement subgrades. The theoretical part describes the production and usability of recycled building materials and also the economic evaluation against commonly used natural materials. The main point of the theoretical part is the use of mixed recycled material in the subsoil of roads with increased attention to the use in the active zone of road. It also describes laboratory tests that are important for evaluating the qualities of recycled materials and problematic qualities that can affect the life of a construction work. In a separate chapter, it presents foreign experience with the use of recycled building materials for building transport structures. The practical part verifies the suitability of mixed building recycled material to the active zone of road by tests of the California bearing ratio, soil freezing rate and crushing resistance by Los Angeles.
The frost susceptibility of the recycled materials to subgrade of the pavement
Nehybová, Eva ; Mondschein,, Petr (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
In the theoretical part of the thesis, different methods of testing frost susceptibility in the Czech Republic and other countries of the European Union are compared. The practical part of the thesis deals with laboratory testing of frost susceptibility of concrete and mixed recycled materials using the direct method of frost heave tests as well as determining the California Bearing Ratio (CBR) and design module of elasticity using the cyclic triaxial test. Suitability of materials for construction of road infrastructure is then assessed on the basis of the results of these tests.
Characteristics of mixed building recyclates for subgrade og roads
Junek, Lumír ; Dašek, Ondřej (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
The work deals with the use of mixed construction recycled material for earth bodies of roads. The theoretical part describes the production, usability and economic evaluation of recycled building materials against common natural materials. It then describes the necessary laboratory tests that examine its properties for the use of these materials in roads. In the last chapter, the work deals with foreign experience with the use of mixed construction recyclates for transport construction. The practical part examines the properties of the given recyclates for their use in the core using tests of soil freezing rate, California bearing ratio and immediate bearing index.

Unbound mixtures to the pavement base layers
Žůrek, Jakub ; Hýzl, Petr (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
The subject of this bachelor’s thesis is the possibility of using alternative materials in base road layers. Specifically It‘s about different granular material from mines (fraction 0/22) and recyclate, the possibility of their their classification within the used base layers and assessment of their suitability for specific structural layer. The thesis subject is also assessment of suitability of laboratory tests currently used in the Czech Republic and is trying to deal with the question whether these tests are ideal or not. The theoretical part summarizes the currently used base layers, their properties, technology of their implementation and It explains the current testing system. The aim of the thesis is to define mechanical properties of the examined materials, compare them and evaluate them.
California bearing ratio CBR - dynamic test
Cvečka, Tomáš ; Pácha, Petr (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
The work is devoted to the use of dynamic load test in road construction. The theoretical part deals with the description of the test with using classical CBR test with dynamically acting load. The practical part is devoted to the preparation of the soil sample for the dynamic test and following evaluation of the classical static and experimental dynamic method tested on two soil samples. The aim of the work is to find out the correlation relationship of these two tests as well as to verify the relevance of the used dynamic method.
Determination of elasticity modulus for base layers
Hepner, Urban ; Mondschein,, Petr (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
The thesis deals with the experimental determination of the resilient modulus using cyclic triaxial test with the selected unbound mixtures of the base course of the pavement. The aim is to verify whether the proposed modulus-resilient in the regulation TP 170 based on the statisticaly verified data dating several decades ago is still valid in the present. Furthermore, the thesis deals with the dependence between the measured and the calculated values of the modulus resilient Mr from the cyclic triaxial test and the California Bearing Ratio tests. For the classification of the selected materials, further tests are used in the thesis, such as granularity and compaction tests.
Durability of the waste building materials for subgrade
Lorenc, Daniel ; Hýzl, Petr (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
The Bacherol thesis is focused on the use of waste building materials to subgrade of the pavement. Examines in detail advantages and disadvantages of this recycled material. Mainly deal with negative properities like water absorption and frost action, and figure out the dependance on the amount of brick parts in waste buildingng material. It practically verifies California bearing ratio, water absorption and rate of frost action of waste building material. A decisive impact on results will have a number of brick parts in recycled material.
Simple design of the improved soils to subgrade pavement
Hurtiš, Maroš ; Hýzl, Petr (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis describes improvement of soils to subgrade pavement. It defines basic expressions, which we are taking in consideration by. Next we are talking about each parameter, which has to be included in final subsoil and which tests are suitable for these parameters. We are decribing California Bearing Ratio in detail and its test. This thesis study context between pH and CBR. Change between these two subjects is caused by addition of a binder. We are practically proving this causes in practical part of bachelor thesis.
Frost susceptibility of soils and waste materials to pavement subgrade
Sokolová, Veronika ; Mondschein,, Petr (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
Destruction of road constructions due to the frost is in locations with temperatures under the zero a problem which leads to permanent deformation. The theoretical part of this thesis deals with the freezing process of the pavement and its subgrade. It presents methods for determining the rate of frost susceptibility in both the Czech Republic and abroad. Describes the materials used in the subgrade of roads and their suitability in terms of frost susceptibility. The thesis closely examines the fly-ashes, their properties and possibilities of using in the construction industry. The practical part of the thesis focuses on the performance of direct laboratory frost heave tests, immediate bearing index tests, California bearing ratio tests and cyclic load triaxial tests to determine the modulus of elasticity. Tests are carried out on the soil, the soil mixtures with certain percentages of fly ash from different sources at the same soil treated with lime. Then the results are compared and dependence between the measured characteristics of materials is created.
