Conjugated porous polymers derived from diethynylarenes by chain-growth polymerization and polycyclotrimerization
Slováková, Eva
The synthesis has been described yielding a new type of rigid conjugated polymer networks which possess a high content of permanent micropores and macropores and exhibit high surface areas up to 1469 m2/g. The networks have been prepared via chain-growth coordination polymerization catalysed with insertion catalysts based on Rh complexes. This polymerization has been newly applied to bifunctional acetylenic monomers of diethynylarene type (1,4-diethynylbenzene, 1,3-diethynylbenzene and 4,4'-diethynylbiphenyl). The covalent structure of the networks consists of the polyacetylene main chains densely connected by arylene struts. The W and Mo metathesis catalysts have been revealed as inefficient for the synthesis of these networks. The increase in the polymerization temperature and time has been shown to affect positively the content and the diameter (up to 22 nm) of the mesopores in the networks. A mechanism has been proposed that explains the mesopores formation as a result of mutual knitting of small particles of the microporous polymer. The application of emulsion polymerization technique allowed to prepare texturally hierarchical polyacetylene networks possessing interconnected open macropores (diameter up to 4,8 μm) the walls of which exhibited micro/mesoporous texture. It was demonstrated that...
Electrode Active Materials for Lithium-Ion Accumulators
Čech, Ondřej ; Oriňáková, Renáta (referee) ; Paidar,, Martin (referee) ; Sedlaříková, Marie (advisor)
This doctoral thesis deals with synthesis and characterisation of electroactive electrode materials for li-ion batteries and accumulators. The work is divided into two main parts. One deals with LiFePO4 based cathode composite electroactive material and in the second is described the synthesis and utilization of monoclinic TiO2(B) as an anode for li-ion cell. The main aim of the work is to relate the synthesis procedure and structural properties of both materials to its electrochemical preformance.
Skewness Preference
Kvapil, Mikuláš ; Svoboda, Miroslav (advisor) ; Tříska, Dušan (referee)
The diploma thesis is concerned with analysis of behavior of bettors on horse races. The aim is to test the hypothesis that bettors prefer skewness and they are risk averse. In the thesis is used the method of empirical data collection of horse racing in the Czech Republic and their subsequent testing using a regression model. The testing of the presented model did not confirm the hypothesis of skewness preference in the case of betting on horse races in the Czech Republic.
Control and detection of unauthorized disposal of the assets of casinos
Ledinská, Kateřina ; Polák, Martin (advisor) ; Molín, Jan (referee)
This work deals with the control and detection of unauthorized disposal of assets casinos. In line with the main aim of the work is divided into four parts. The first section defines the regulating and regulated agencies, by another name casinos and authorities of state supervision. The following section defines assets and the chosen form of unauthorized disposal of them in casinos, complemented by cases where the perpetrator of casinos is within employees the operators themselves. The third part based on the two previous sections is devoted to the description of controls casinos in practice. Controls are firstly divided into those carried out by managers of casinos and controls exercised by organs of state supervision, and then compared with each other. The comparison two control systems are complemented by a fictional example of a connection to the primary records of casinos on the control protocol. The last part provides the legal framework for the previous sections gaming law system.
Do bettors prefer skewness over risk?
Kvapil, Mikuláš ; Svoboda, Miroslav (advisor) ; Potužák, Pavel (referee)
Bachelor thesis wants to prove the hypothesis that gambling can be explained not only by risk preferences but also by preferences skewness. The work used an empirical method of data collection and subsequently tested them. Data were collected from five hundred rounds of roulette in an online casino with a focus on Czech players. During the test of the econometric model the hypothesis that bettors are risk averse with skewness preferences was confirmed.
Principles of trading on betting exchanges
Karásek, Michal ; Málek, Jiří (advisor) ; Moravec, Lukáš (referee)
Unlike traditional stock exchanges, where bonds, shares and financial derivatives are traded, on the betting exchanges there are traded probabilistic estimates of the results of sporting or social events. The market price of bets, namely the market implied probability is influenced by estimate of the outcome. The specificity of betting exchanges is also a short period to maturity of contracts, and the possibility to trade with the estimated result of one real world event in several sub-markets simultaneously. In theoretical analysis, we have defined the bet, the underlying asset, and the binary betting contract, which is traded on betting exchanges. We have described some practical aspects of trading. Properties of the probabilistic contracts are demonstrated on several examples. Finally, we constructed the mathematical model of a tennis match, which is based on a binomial valuation model. This allows us to compare the market price of a contract with the price recommended by the model.
