Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient with the Diagnosis of Anterior Cruciate Reconstruction
Bramham, Michael Edwin ; Vomáčková, Helena (advisor) ; Nováková, Tereza (referee)
Title: Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient with the Diagnosis of Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction. Thesis aim: The thesis is split into two parts; 1) Theoretical part. 2) Practical part (Case Study). The theoretical part will show an overview of the anatomy, kinesiology and biomechanics of the knee joint, aswell as how an anterior cruciate ligament injury is commonly obtained, the reconstruction surgery procedure, and the therapy used by the therapist in the rehabilitation process. In the practical part, I shall apply this theoretical knowledge, aswell as the knowledge of examinations and therapies that I have learned during my degree on to a patient with the diagnosis of anterior cruciate reconstruction, analysing the results. Clinical findings: The patient was a 24 year old female, with a diagnoss of anterior cruciate reconstruction of the left knee, performed by an allograft 6 weeks prior. The main clinical findings were a range of motion deficit in the operated knee in both flexion and extension, aswell as general weakening and atrophy of the muscles in this side. Procedures: The procedures used were based on those taught by Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Physical Education and Sport. These included but were not limited to; post isometric relaxation, joint...
Case study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient with the diagnosis after anterior cruciate ligament surgery
Chartosias, Pavlos ; Vláčilová, Ivana (advisor) ; Smejkal, Petr (referee)
Title: Case study of diagnosis of Anterior Cruciate Ligament surgery Author: Chartosias Pavlos Aim: In the thesis I will be analyzed the function and the mechanism of the knee joint, understanding the kinesiology relation with the Anterior Cruciate Ligament, focusing on the main principles and procedures of the therapy and rehabilitation after one day of surgery. Methods: The therapy included five meetings with the patient during two weeks of clinical practice. The patient had physiotherapy in the morning at the same time. The main goal for the first five days after surgery was to archive as bigger Range Of Motion was possible in the operated knee joint, remove the pain, strength and relax a group of muscles, mobilized any blocked joint and educate the patient how to use the crutches physiological and how can be independent as much possible. Results: Our therapeutic relation between me and the patient was perfect. After five days of therapy my patient archives 50 degrees flexion in the operated knee joint from 0 at the first day. Her doctor was very satisfy, that's why he indicated to her that she is able to go home after the fifth day of my therapy because my therapy was effectiveness and the results were positive. Impact evaluation of a anterior cruciate ligament rupture on postural stabilization by a method postural somatooscillography before and after reconstruction surgery
Traplová, Kristýna ; Rašev, Eugen (advisor) ; Véle, František (referee)
Title: Impact evaluation of a anterior cruciate ligament rupture on postural stabilization by a method postural somatooscillography before and after the reconstruction surgery Objective: Compare measured postural stability values by postural somatooscillography which will be carried out before planned ACL reconstruction surgery rupture, early after the surgery and in a longer time period after rehabilitation. Methods: This thesis has been created as a pilot study using a descriptive and associative form. Research part focuses on measurements done on the Posturomed surface during postural provocation test. Platform movement has been recorded by accelerometer and transferred into Microswing diagnostic system and evaluated using the Postural somatooscillography Posturomed Commander application. Results: After reconstruction surgery is the ability of postural stabilization better than before surgery. Postural stabilization has been improving within the group of probands during all measurements. However, the ability of long-term stabilization is at very low level in comparison to healthy subjects. Postural stabilization of uninjured limb is better than stabilization of injured limb in all research stages. Key words: anterior cruciate ligament, injury, postural stabilization, Posturomed
Case study of Physical Therapy approach of patient with Anterior. Cruciate Ligament rupture after traumatic injury in skiing
Tsichlakis, Emmanouil ; Hojková, Klára (advisor) ; Puchmeltrová, Martina (referee)
Title: Physical Therapy program in a patient with total rupture of Anterior Cruciate Ligament and partial rupture of Medial Collateral Ligament of the right knee joint after ski accident. Název bakalářské práce: Author: Emmanouil Tsichlakis The current Bachelor Thesis is divided into two parts, theoritical and practical one. In the theoritical part an overview of the general anatomy of the knee joint and the biomechanics of the knee ligaments are presented. Also the mechanisms of the injury of Anterior Cruciate Ligament, the clinical examination that follows, the symptomes that correspond in this injury and the conservative therapeutic approach are discused. The second part contains a detailed description of the case study of the patient, the examination tests and the rehabilitation program I perforfed to the patient and also the evaluation of the results of the therapy. Key worlds: Physical Therapy, knee joint, Anterior Cruciate Ligament, rupture, conservative, skiing Dates of practice: 16/1/2012 - 1/2/2012 Location of practice: Ústřední vojenská nemocnice Praha 1200/1, 162 00 Praha 6
The Effect of Taping on Postural Stability in Patients with Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction on Posturomed Platform after Rehabilitation using Postural Therapy
Indrová, Zuzana ; Rašev, Eugen (advisor) ; Nováková, Tereza (referee)
Title: The Effect of Taping on Postural Stability in Patients with Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction on Posturomed Platform after Rehabilitation using Postural Therapy Aim: Objective evaluation of the effects of kinesiotaping and functional taping on postural stabilization during standing on one foot in patients after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction on the defined unstable Posturomed platform. Methods: The thesis is based on analytical-comparative study. The subjects of the study were patients after ACL reconstruction, who have done fifteen rehabilitation sessions which included postural therapy. The patients were subjected to a "3-step stand on one foot" test to standardize measurement. Three kinds of measurement were applied: without taping, kinesiotaping, and rigid-functional taping taped bilaterally above the m. vastus medialis. Results: The measurements on the Posturomed suggest that the ability of postural stabilization differs on each lower limb in patients after an ACL reconstruction. The application of taping had an effect in the majority of cases, although it was a negative effect on postural stabilization in most kinesiotaped measurements compared to un-taped measurements. The functional taping, on the other hand, had mostly positive reactions unlike with the...

Physical therapy procedures in patients following the operation of the anterior cruciate ligament
Pešlová, Kateřina ; Jalovcová, Miroslava (advisor) ; Satrapová, Lenka (referee)
Title: Physical therapy procedures in patients following the operation of the anterior cruciate ligament Objectives: The main objective of this work is to determine the influence of the chosen method of reconstruction and subsequent physiotherapy on the final status of the patient. And also if the group physiotherapy is the ideal therapeutic approach. Methods: In quantitative research the numerical analysis of the data was performed. Comparison of individual groups was performed simply through finding the frequency distribution of individual characters. Evaluated were the basic sets A (patients operated on by Bone - Tendon - Bone method, BTB) and B (patients operated on by hamstring graft method, STG). Both sets were assessed using the input and the output kinesiological analysis. The resulting values of the variables in each category (individual examinations in the input and output kinesiological analysis) were compared with each other. The statistical significance of observed differences was tested using the x2 (chi square) test at the significance level of p < 0.05. Results: It was determined that the selected surgical method (BTB and STG) has an effect on certain parameters evaluated in the input rated kinesiological analysis. These parameters in the majority of examinations performed at the...
