The Importance of the Electronics Industry for Taiwanese Economy

This diploma thesis explores the importance of the electronics industry for the Taiwanese economy. Its aim is to evaluate the current position of the Taiwanese electronics industry in the domestic and world economy and to outline its potential development. The methods of analysis and synthesis are used to determine the key elements that lead to the development of the economy and the industry. In addition, a comparison method is used to compare the position of six selected Taiwanese companies. Based on the information obtained, a SWOT analysis of this sector is compiled.

Capital Productivity and Invesment Activity of Small and Medium-sized Companies.

The goal of this thesis is to find out if there is a relationship between company capital productivity and investment activity. Evaluation is done on a single sector of the national economy steel construction and steel goods manufacturing, with the exception of machines. In the first half of the practical part of this thesis, an analysis of capital productivity, investing activity, structure of long-time owned property and value added is done. After this, by using correlation and regression analysis, the relationship between variables capital productivity and investment activity is tested. For evaluation, the data from database Albertina, a database that collects data about companies in Czech Republic and Slovakia, are used. All tests are made in the Microsoft Excel and Statistica 12. Performance Evaluation of Company Lunaria

Diploma thesis deals with evaluation of company performance. The opening part describes the theoretical points, which is followed by introduction of the company. Using the financial analysis methods the financial condition of the company is evaluated. The results are compared to other five competitors. In the closing part are suggested recommendations to improve company performance.

Position of transnational corporations in Southeast Asia

This bachelor thesis analyses activities of transnational corporations in Southeast Asia conducted by the foreign direct investment. The goal is to explore the mutual relations between these two entities and to understand, what the region means for transnational corporations and, simultaneously, how corporations influence the socio-economic live of the region. The course of analysis does not contain only modern aspects of the development of foreign direct investment, but also the key historical issues. The thesis consists of three parts. The first provides the main macroeconomic profile of Southeast Asia. In the second part we go through the historical concept together with today's opportunities and challenges presented in the region. Finally the third chapter focuses on the current state of the foreign direct investment, its dynamic, main actors, trends and impacts, both positive and negative. The subject is quite important nowadays due to the contemporary process of globalization, in which transnational corporations are the driving force and the states of Southeast Asia are one of the main providers of different kinds of facilities for the corporate activities.

The productivity of the agricultural company, its impact and evidence within the region

The aim is to analyse the options of business productivity evaluation of the selected agricultural company in South Bohemia with regard to the agriculture specifics. Another goal was to determine, how the economic results of the agricultural companies affect the monitoring of sector productivity evaluation (CZ - NACE) within the region NUTS3, and alternatively to point out the possible problematical areas throughout the monitoring.

Applying lean produktion in the selected company

Bachelor thesis consists of two parts: a literature review and their own work. Literature review explains the reader with issues concerning situation of the automotive industry and lean manufacturing. Topics concerning the situation of the automotive industry deals with the number of cars in the Czech Republic and the world. There is an explanation of lean manufacturing and selected methods, explaining the difference between gradual improvement and improving jump. The actual work consists of chapters on the characteristics of the company, the structure of production and planning, manufacturing process selected group of products, material flows of goods and estimating losses, adding value and suggests possible zlepšení.Vše is applied to the company ŠKODA AUTO a. s., in that its activity is analyzed for calendar year 2012. Finding the necessary information regarding the operation of the company was studying the annual reports, websites and communication with executives including a tour of the museum and business operations.
