Významné aspekty obnovy a výsadby zeleně města Lanškroun
Minaschková, Natálie
The bachelor thesis focuses on significant aspects of the restoration and planting of greenery using climate change adaptation measures. The aim of the thesis is to identify the importance and possibilities of supporting urban greenery and to define the potential of its use for increasing the quality of life in cities. Furthermore, their application is described in the project of the L'Art Multifunctional Center and its park, which was designed by the company Atelier90, s. r. o. In the theoretical part, sustainable urban development is presented and the benefits of urban greenery and green architecture, their implementation, are described and possible risks. In the practical part, the economic and social contribution of urban greenery is assessed using cost-benefit analysis (CBA) extended by the concept of ecosystem services. The economic evaluation is carried out on the project of the Multifunctional Center and the L'Art Park. Based on findings from the theoretical and practical part, conclusions and recommendations are formulated for the applicability of urban greenery and green architecture in other areas.
Flóra a vegetace nevyužívaných brněnských areálů uvažovaných pro parkové úpravy
Bartoš, Marcel
In this diploma thesis I deal with the research of the flora and vegetation of three unused areas of Brno, in which will or may be built city parks in the future. These areas are Planýrka, the area of the former Hády tailings pond (Hapal's Park) and the location where Houbalova Park will be built. The aim by field research was to record the species of plants, document the vegetation of the defined areas and describe and characterize these areas based on the data obtained. The data was mainly obtained by floristic survey, recording phytocenological relevés, photographing vegetation using a drone and, last but not least, a detailed literature search of the natural conditions of the defined areas, botanical resources and databases, but also research on the use of the areas in the past, present and also in the future. A partial aim was to create a map of actual vegetation of the studied areas. In the field, I recorded a total of 26 phytocenological relevés representing mainly ruderal, scrub and grass vegetation and their combinations. In total, I found 389 taxa of vascular plants, of which 27 are endangered (4 protected by law) and 26 are invasive. The work also includes a documentary herbarium of selected taxa which is stored in the BRNU. Other floristic survey data are published in the iNaturalist application (NDOP) and recorded relevés are stored in the ČNFD.
Inventarizace veřejné zeleně ve vybraném území a návrh dosadby
SOUKUPOVÁ, Kateřina
The diploma thesis deals with the inventory of greenery and the proposal of replanting in the spa park Aurora in Třeboň. The goal is to evaluate the existing greenery and to propose replanting and modifications of the area. The first part of this thesis focuses on the historical development, function and importance of greenery in cities. The thesis describes the forms of public greenery, its planting and subsequent care as steps to improve the urban microclimate. In the practical part, a dendrological survey and inventory of meadow communities is elaborated. The area is divided into 9 separate blocks for better clarity and the greenery in these blocks is mapped in detail. The conclusion describes specific proposals that will improve the local microclimate, increase biodiversity and aesthetic value while maintaining the overall character of the park.

Gap options (třída Kapitána Jaroše, Brno, CZ)
Hanušová, Petra ; Widholmová, Alžběta (referee) ; Toman, Radek (advisor)
The inner block behind the Brno City Theatre is special for its liveliness. There are several services, parking and, above all, a lot of people shorten their journey here every day - the gap is not waiting to be filled, it serves more as a portal. In the design I am working with a site that is adjacent to the theatre's blind wall and currently serves only for parking. I am proposing housing elevated above the retained parking lot, working with the idea of neighborhood and relationships. I surround the housing with greenery and adapt the character of the block to pedestrians.
Vnímání role zeleně v intravilánu města
VLÁŠEK, Jakub
This diploma thesis called "Perception of the role of greenery in urban areas" deals in the introductory part with climate change and adaptation measures to mitigate its impact. In the next part, he moves on to the role and function of greenery in this process, focusing on the specifics of cities, especially in connection with the mani-festation of the urban heat island. Its aim is to find out, in the form of a questionnaire survey, the attitude of residents and visitors to the city of České Budějovice to climate change, the state of the living and natural environment in the city, their relationship to urban greenery and identify what they perceive as insufficient or unpleasant in this area. Based on the statistical evaluation of the survey, recommendations for local self-government are formulated in the conclusion.
Vliv vegetace na teplotní režim městského prostředí
SEDLÁČEK, Jan
This thesis is aimed at the influence of vegetation on temperature in urban areas. In order to research this influence, a thermal camera was used to measure surface temperature in a number of places in České Budějovice. The results show that vegetation not only reduces thermal amplitudes, but also influences the temperature of surrounding surfaces (up to a few metres). Lower temperatures compared with conventional surfaces were reached during the summer days not only by trees, but also by less common green structures, such as ornamental plants or a green roof and wall. According to the results, some suggestions were brought in order to increase the effectivity of green infrastructure and to reduce the Urban Heat Island effect.

Zemek, František ; Pikl, Miroslav ; Pavelka, Marian ; Zapletal, Miloš ; Kokrda, Lukas ; Novotný, Jan ; Duchková, Helena ; Vačkářová, Davina ; Foltýnová, Lenka ; Cudlín, Pavel ; Kolařík, J. ; Holešová, H. ; Mácová, Kateřina ; Chalupová, O. ; Vojáčková, B. ; Mikulášek, J.
The methodology brings about new and practical approaches in assessment of five ecosystem functions and services of town greenery. It covers four regulation functions (microclimate regulation, carbon sequestration, pollution and noise reduction) and one information function (aesthetic and cultural-recreation). The calculus is based on a single greenery object evaluation using simplified biophysical and statistic models, however complying with all natural principles. The models utilize data standardly available in urban greenery passports and those which are accessible via map servers, e.g. meteorological situation and sociodemographic conditions.
Revealed preferences for outdoor recreation in natural areas - Czech and European perspective
Kaprová, Kateřina ; Melichar, Jan (advisor) ; Brůha, Jan (referee) ; Šauer, Petr (referee)
K. Kaprová (2019): Revealed preferences for outdoor recreation in natural areas - Czech and European perspective Abstract of the Doctoral Dissertation The dissertation thesis focuses on the investigation and synthesis of recreation welfare benefits associated with natural areas in the Czech Republic and in Europe. The dissertation thesis consists of five case studies. These represent various geographic levels of analysis: the level of one single recreation locality, the national level that takes into account large natural recreation sites in the Czech Republic (including protected areas), and a synthesis of results of studies on the European level. The methodological approach is based on the theory of environmental economics and employs non-market valuation techniques based on methods of revealed preferences, namely the hedonic pricing method and two types of travel cost modelling. In Study I, we examine how the presence and characteristics of urban greenery affect property prices in Prague. The results confirm that proximity to greenery and its area are important determinants of housing prices in Prague, which means that residents realize the positive values provided by urban greenery, including recreational ecosystem service. Benefits to residents differ with the type of greenery. Urban forests have the...
