Abrasive waterjet machining of composite materials
Chromý, Jakub ; Kalivoda, Milan (referee) ; Osička, Karel (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with composite materials and the possibilities of processing these materials by machining technologies. The work is divided into several main parts. The first part deals with the analysis of individual types of composite materials. The possibilities of machining composite materials and available technologies of their machining will be explored. Other parts will focus on the application of unconventional abrasive water jet technology to a specific composite material with an experiment on a sample part made of composite material. At the end of the work there will be a technical and economic evaluation of the experiment.
Use of unconventional technologies in the production of a selected component
Havlínová, Denisa ; Kalivoda, Milan (referee) ; Dvořáková, Jana (advisor)
The biggest challenge during manufacturing copper part with microslit for optical spectrometer by the means of unconventional technologies was to meet specified narrow range of tolerances and reach right angles at the microslit corners. Electrical discharge machining and laser beam machining were two practically performed methos and both successfully met these tolerances. After consultation is focused ion beam also considered as suitable method for this task, while for photochemical machining is impossible to meet those narrow tolerances. Right angles were not achieved by any of tested methods. At laser cutting edges were proven defects (burrs, molten material), while we saw no negative defects on electrical discharge workpiece surface. Even after optimalization of EDM was machining time longer and there is assumed higher other production cost (tool manufacturing for every single workpiece), but still EDM seems to be more advantageous from financial and surface quality aspect. Based on theoretical research and practical manufacturing is recommend to manufacture specified component with microslit by EDM.
Surface finishing using unconventional methods.
Popelář, Petr ; Zemčík, Oskar (referee) ; Zemčík, Oskar (advisor)
The summary of selected technologies and methods of conventional and unconventional ways of machining that are used for finishing the surface of engineering components. Summarizes the basic principles, a description of machines, tools, working conditions, the resulting values of surface texture and precision, which can be achieved by these methods. Usage in practice, evaluation and comparison according to criteria by Ra and IT.
Unconventional methods of material cutting
Kulenda, Martin ; Mrňa, Libor (referee) ; Podaný, Kamil (advisor)
The present bachelor thesis summarizes the findings of unconventional methods of materials cutting. The thesis is only concerned with the most common and most appropriate methods used in practice. The described methods include cutting by laser, plasma, water jet, electron beam and ultrasound. For each of these methods, the principle of current technologies and technological equipment used for materials cutting in industrial practice is described. This thesis compares the individual methods in terms of their advantages and disadvantages when cutting different types of materials and also the appropriateness of the use of such methods in small or large series production.
Unconventional methods of material cutting
Rusz, Radek ; Mrňa, Libor (referee) ; Podaný, Kamil (advisor)
The bachelor thesis contents literary study of a unconventional methods of material cutting. Work is focused on cutting technology of a water jet, plasma, laser, ultrasound and electron beam. Each method is explained in terms of physical principle and application in industry. Also, there is the technological equipment for the various methods, including evaluation of their parameters. The work is also a comparison of all methods in terms of productivity and material processing quality, assessment their advantages and disadvantages, and suitability for small- or large volume production.

Unconventional machining technology used in manufacturing of injection molds
Tomášů, Robin ; Zahradníček, Radim (referee) ; Strejček, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with unconventional technologies of machining for the prodution of injection molds. It comprises theoretical division of unconventional methods, description of all parts of the mold and primarily use of unconventional technologies for the production of molds. This bachelor thesis also contains theoretical technological process of production of injection molds.
Unconventional production technology of chains
Hostinský, Michal ; Mrňa, Libor (referee) ; Osička, Karel (advisor)
Unconventional technologies and their continual development brings along new possibilities in the manufacturing process. The submitted project is focused on solving problems in the procession of sheet metals in the manufacture of special parts of roller and conveyor chains. In the assessment of the technology of components, laser cutting was evaluated as the most optimal technology. With this goal, there was a public tender in terms of the purchase of a new machine designed for the manufacturing operations of the company of RETEZY Vamberk. This company ranks among the most major manufacturers of conveyor, roller and special chains in Europe.
Proposal of suitable technology for manufacture of the part "foot column"
Langr, Aleš ; Šlais, Miroslav (referee) ; Peterková, Eva (advisor)
Master's thesis, elaborated within Master's degree, submits a proposal of suitable technology for manufacturing “column foot“ part, which attaches filtration unit to the ground. Material is 6 mm thick sheet steel in accordance with ČSN 41 1375 norm. Run (/production batch) of the part is 4 000 pieces per year. On the basis of literary study about unconventional technologies for flat sheet metal production 3 technologies were suggested: plasma cutting, water jet cutting and laser cutting. These technologies were technologically and economically analyzed. At the end thesis evaluates whether purchase of respective machine would pay out for the firm or they should continue to buy parts from cooperation company.
