Říha, Kamil ; Kilkovský, Bohuslav (referee) ; Pařízek, Tomáš (advisor)
Thermal processing of wastes is a metod, when during combustion occur reduction of wastes till 10% previous volume. The main advantage of this method is possibility to heat utilization for heat and electric production. Through thermic process develops range of pollutants (NOx, CO, SO2, HCl, HF, PCDD/F) that had to be remove from off-gas or reduced to enviromental values in agreement with laws in force [16]. For this purpose are combustion units equip with range of devices for removing this pollutans. The main task of this diploma thesis is selectoin of ctirical device in term of pressure drops. The value of pressure drop stands significant part in proposition of efficiecy off-gas fan. In increase or decrease total pressure drop consumption of electrical energy of off-gas fan is rising or going down. Change of consumption in total classification is projecting in energy utilization rate of waste where is determinate if it stands of energy utilizatoin or just incineration. In first part of diploma thesis are described in detail availability methods of off-gas cleaning where is described their principle, advanteges, disadvatages and comparison of effectivity. In second part of diploma thesis is made example model about influnce technology on value of total pressure drop. There were chosen two technologies for removing dioxins (technology of catalytic filtration REMEDIA and DeNox/DeDiox). For both technologies were made detailed analysis of pressure drops single components of these technologies. Attainment results were compared and rated with one another. For analysis these two methods were designed mathematical process in software Maple 9.5.
Analysis of Flow Distribution in Systems with Dense Tube Bundles
Babička Fialová, Dominika ; Dohnal, Miloslav (referee) ; Turek, Vojtěch (advisor)
Considering heat transfer equipment with dense tube bundles, it is essential to ensure as uniform a fluid distribution into the tubes as possible in order to prevent various operating problems. This bachelor’s thesis therefore focuses on tube-side flow analysis in such equipment. CFD simulations were carried out using a diverse set of flow systems with outflow into a constant-pressure environment. The respective tube bundle geometries differed in densities and sizes, arrangements of the tubes, and tube diameters. Air was used as the working fluid in the majority of the cases, however, some of the simulations were also carried out with water. Data obtained from evaluations in the fluid flow modelling software ANSYS Fluent were further analysed and the influence of the mentioned differentiating parameters on flow distribution non-uniformity and pressure drop was investigated. According to the regression model, the dependence of flow distribution non-uniformity on density and size of the bundle and on mass flow rate per unit outflow area cannot be rejected with the standard significance level. As for pressure drop, the only parameter that was not rejected was mass flow rate per unit outflow area.
Design of a space heating system with a heat pump air-water and solid fuel source for heating the family house
Španihelová, Kateřina ; Elcner, Jakub (referee) ; Katolický, Jaroslav (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to design the heating system for the house, including the design and calculating the required quantity of heat for hot water. The specified heat sources are the heat pump air to water and solid fuel boiler. The task was to design the heating system to the fastest possible return on investment. The initial investment in a heat pump is high so it is necessary to design the heating system as efficiently as possible. The thesis contains a complete project of calculating heat loss of the building, the design of heating surfaces and their heat-technical calculation. There is included the design of the pipe system, the calculation of pressure loss and its regulation. The thesis also includes design of safety equipment, temperature regulation and drawings. On the basis of calculated data was processed economic assessment, which determines the return on investment to the heat pump. Compared to the gas condensing boiler the return on investment will ideally be after five years.
Air conditioning in the wellness-center
Zerzońová, Karolína ; Rubinová, Olga (referee) ; Blasinski, Petr (advisor)
Bachelor thesis deals with the design of air conditioning equipment for the Wellness-center at pension in Malenovice. The thesis is divided into 3 parts. In the first of them, the thesis work deals with the theorical part. The theory is focused on the division of atmospheric air filters info different categories, pocket filters and their types of media and design. At the end, the theoretical part deals with the mechanism od filtration, separation, filtration efficiency and pressure losses. The second part of this bachelor thesis is mainly about the design of the air handling unit. There are three units designed for a building. Unit no. 1 is for a wellness, unit no. 2 for sanitary facilities and unit no. 3 for the fitness. The thesis deals with the transport of fresh air to the interion of selected rooms and coverage of water gains from whirlpools, humidity adjustment, heat gains during the summer and heat losses in the winter. The last part deals with project documentation.
Heat exchanger design
Vašíček, Jan ; Baláš, Marek (referee) ; Špiláček, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the design of a cooling water – water heat exchanger. The content of the work is the basic sorting and description of the heat exchanger. Next it includes calculation and design of geometric dimensions, calculation of pressure losses in the tubeside and shellside and calculation of the actual output of the heat exchanger. This work also contains the drawing documentation of the designed heat exchanger.
Steam turbine - pipeline design
Kotas, Jakub ; Kracík, Petr (referee) ; Fiedler, Jan (advisor)
The master thesis deals with the design, tracing and dimensioning of condensate pipeline. In the beginning, a preliminary calculation of heat balance is done. It is followed by a description of the main condensate system supplemented by the computational design of pipeline and the calculation of pressure losses in this pipeline. The crucial part of the thesis is the calculation of pressure losses, which is done in two ways. The first approach to calculation of pressure losses in the pipeline is calculated using values of representative resistance coefficient for pipe ele-ments using Idelchik literature and for individual types of valves using values from datasheets of Siemens Energy suppliers. In the second approach to calculation representative resistance coefficients for pipe elements and individual types of valves CRANE literature are used. Then both approaches of choosing representative resistance coefficients are compared and evaluated. Based on the calculated values, a suitable pump is selected at the end of the master thesis.
Pressure loss valves in heating systems
Náglová, Michaela ; Adam, Pavel (referee) ; Počinková, Marcela (advisor)
The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the hydraulics of heating systems. The aim of the project is a design of the heating and hot water preparation system for an apartment building. The building has 6 above-ground floors and 2 underground floors. Two different options of heating systems were designed, comparison and results are presented in the thesis. In the first case the heat source during the winter season and for water heating, where chosen two gas condensing boilers, situated in separated room on the second underground floor. In the second case, each apartment has its own gas condensing boiler. The experimental part of the project deals with measurements of pressure losses in water armatures used in heating systems. The aim of this part is the determination of coefficients of added resistance for uncontrolled elements, which are normally presented as tabular value. In thesis are presented results for a ball valve, backflow preventer, filter, for slide valve and thermostatic valve. Measurements for thermostatic valve where done with different settings and results are compared with parameters listed in the datasheet.

Lajza, Ondřej ; Fiľakovský, Karol (referee) ; Horák, Aleš (referee) ; Píštěk, Antonín (advisor)
Dissertation thesis is focused on the aircraft cooling system optimization. The knowledge of the pressure loss is necessity for design of an optimal system. In the beginning of the thesis, the different designs of piston engine cooling systems are described for both aircrafts and automobiles. Other sections outline the determination of the coolers characteristics and describe the different test sections applicable for the characteristics measurement. The test section built at the Institute of the aerospace engineering is described as well. Practical part of the thesis describes the calibration of the test section. The measurements of the specific coolers were compared with the CFD simulation of two models - the simplified cooler model and cooler element model. Additionally, the measurements were compared with results obtained at specialized coolers testing facility.
