Study of the Sadova area in Brno

The diploma thesis focuses on the assessment of transport infrastructure in Brno, the Sadová area and presents a solving proposal for selected problems. The work is based on the site's survey and measurement, as well as data collected from all available sources. The CDV methodology on road safety inspections in accordance with EU Directive 2008/96/EC was used as a basis for processing the analysis of individual sites. A detailed risk assessment is performed at four sites in the area where problems are identified and a proposal for their solution is given. In relation to public transport, the work also evaluates the individual bus stops, identifies major drawbacks, and contains suggestions for a comprehensive solution of bus stops emplacement. The proposal also includes suitable places for the implementation of pedestrian crossings on Kociánka.

Transport analysis and proposal of solution in Šlapanice

This diploma thesis focuses on the analysis and solution of selected transport modes of the town of Šlapanice in the South Moravian Region. This work contains an analysis of transport modes, especially for road transport, parking and cycling and proposes their optimization to increase safety, fluidity or comfort for residents. The first part describes the current state of road, rail, public and bicycle transport. In the second part, the work focuses on road transport, evaluated in terms of traffic safety and compliance with legislative requirements with a proposed solution. Furthermore this work solve parking, when the town of Šlapanice was divided into functional zones according to use and shortcomings were found in selected localities with stating the proposed solution. In the last part, the cycle routes are solved, their shortcomings are found and solutions are given.
Evaluation of Legislative Regulations for Special Road Transport between the Czech Republic and North Europe

he project evaluates legislative regulations for special road transport between the Czech Republic and Northern Europe. The main purpose of the project is to formulate a basic methodology for non-standard shipment’s transit. Work observes destination of the Czech Republic - Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. There exist differences in legislative conditions for the particularly heavy and oversized loads transport in these countries. The main objective is to evaluate these conditions and recommend utilization for Czech carriers. The thesis aims to enumerate the various national legal standards for excessive transportation and recommend implementation outputs for correct and a quick orientation in the rights and obligations during executing carriage for the Czech carriers. The basic metodology how to transport oversized loads results from this project.
Transport Analysis and Solutions in Litovel

This diploma thesis focuses on the traffic situation in the town of Litovel in the Olomouc Region. Analysis of transport modes, especially road transport, cycling transport, parking and a proposal of their optimization, is the content of this thesis. The first part of the thesis describes the current traffic situation in the town of Litovel, the determination of traffic load according to the Nationwide Traffic Census and the degree of automation as per public databases operated by authorities of the state administration of the Czech Republic. Furthermore, the thesis deals with localities of frequent accident rates, the determination of their risks leading to traffic accidents, and it proposes measures to improve the comfort and safety of road users. In the chapters devoted to parking in various areas of the town, divided according to their functional use, the deficiencies of parking spots are discovered and subsequently their optimal solutions are elaborated. The last part of this thesis deals with cycle routes in the town, it searches for specific places with imperfections and the concept of their solution.
Identifying the Sources of Risk Related to Road Transport of Hazardous Substances and a Proposal of Measures for Reducing Losses on Public Assets

The master‘s thesis focuses on the risks of transporting dangerous goods by road. The introductory part deals with related legislation of the Czech Republic is analyzed, followed by international legislation. In the European Union, the transport of dangerous goods is regulated primarily by the European agreement concerning the International carriage of dangerous goods by road (ADR). Between 2002 and 2019, master‘s thesis analyzes and describes the statistics of traffic accidents with the presence of dangerous goods. Furthermore, this master‘s thesis also analyzes the characteristics of the sources of traffic accident risks, and when activating the risk, the possible effects of traffic accidents and subsequent leakage of dangerous goods are described. In fulfilling the aims of the master‘s thesis, agreement was found in the causes of traffic accidents in statistics and in the literature in the fact that in 80% it is the fault of the human factor. Analysis of a set of 10 large accidents with the presence of dangerous goods using a modified "What, if" method identified impacts on public assets. Based on these identified impacts, measures were proposed that would be appropriate to apply in the public interest.
Transport analysis and improvement proposal in Červený Kostelec

This diploma thesis focuses on the transport analysis in the town Červený Kostelec in the Hradec Králové Region. The work contains analysis of transport modes, especially road transport and parking, concurrently proposes their optimization. The first part of the thesis provides basic informations of the town Červený Kostelec. Next there is described the current traffic situation in the town. The second part of the work focuses on the analysis and solution of the difficult places.

In the introductory part the thesis deals with the legislative requirements in the field of load securing in road freight transport. Subsequently, the individual methods of securing by means of tie-downs on the loading area of the vehicle for selected types of transported loads are pre-sented. The third part deals with the types of load securing devices and their areas of applica-tion. Finally, the thesis deals with the approval process for placing a lashing device on the market.

In the introductory part of the bachelor thesis the individual legal regulations concerning the transport of dangerous goods by road are defined. Furthermore, the classification of dangerous goods according to the ADR agreement and the determination of the conditions for their correct marking, packaging and transport are presented. Then the written requirements for the transport of dangerous goods by road, which are necessary for the transport of dangerous goods within and outside the territory of the Czech Republic, are discussed. Another important part was the description of mandatory vehicle equipment, transport routes and their restrictions. Alternative ways of transporting dangerous goods are also mentioned in the thesis. From the information found, it can be evaluated, among other things, that transport of dangerous goods by road is more economically demanding than transport by ship. As a partial result of this work, innovative proposals for improving the approach to this issue are made.

Externalities in transport with emphasis on spatial aspects. Summary This Thesis deals with the externalities of transport with an emphasis on spatial externalities. It is divided into eight chapters which are then broken down into individual subsections. In the basic concepts chapter is included the theoretical part characterizing the phenomenons of transport and externalities, possibilities of quantification, solving and internalization of transport externalities and the current situation in the Czech Republic. The chapter Practical part includes specific studies and their results. First, the model area of Výtoň is described and there are given at least the basic information regarding the functioning of traffic lights, followed by the methodology of the survey and its results. This research is also followed by the questionnaire survey dealing with the pedestrian traffic in Prague. Both surveys point to the same goal which is to find out about the influence of fragmentation of the landscape on the lives of the city's inhabitants. This goal was achieved in the final chapter, which summarizes the most important findings from both surveys.
