Change in the durability of concrete made of recycled concrete by alternative addition of ceramic admixtures
Stavař, Tomáš ; Hoffmann, Oldřich (referee) ; Stehlík, Michal (advisor)
The master thesis dealing with problematic about durability of concrete, with use of recycled concrete and addition of silica additions. Predominant for resistance of concrete constructions is surface layer, through which aggressive gasses and liquids penetrate from surrounding environment. The most important indicator of concrete durability is ability of surface layer transmissions of aggressive substants. In experimental part will be defined the actual state of surface layer by normal testing methods. The transmissions of surface layer will be tested on concrete cubes. Tests for transmissions of air (method TORRENT), of water (method ISAT), of acid gases (dept of carbonation by quick test in 98% CO2) will be carried out and also strength tests. Assessment of positive or negative influence of additions and amount of cement on durability and mechanical properties of concrete will be discussed in conclusion.
Possibilities of using recycled aggregates for the production of structural concrete
Hrachovcová, Ludmila ; Brožovský, Jiří (referee) ; Hubáček, Adam (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the study of recycled aggregates and concretes made from them. Nowadays, more and more emphasis is being placed on recycling waste and especially construction and demolition waste. Therefore, we are looking for ways to use recycled aggregates in concrete composites despite heterogeneous parametres of concrete and brick recyclates. The paper summarizes the existing knowledge about recycled aggregates, especially about brick and concrete recyclates, their parameters and possibilities of their use. Furthermore, the thesis deals with brick and concrete recyclate concretes, their parameters and behaviour and their subsequent use in practice.
Use of waste building materials to roads
Průdková, Hana ; Hýzl, Petr (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
This thesis consists of a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part collects available information on the current state of construction and demolition waste management. This section discusses demolition work, provides basic information on construction and demolition waste, and describes the recycling process. It also includes the most used types of recycled materials and their use in the roads. The thesis also explains the importance of the circular economy and compares prices of recycled and natural aggregates. The conclusion of the theoretical part is supplemented by foreign experiences. The practical part of this thesis focuses on the possibility of using concrete, asphalt and brick recycled and their mixtures cemented with hydraulic binders. The main goal was to verify the possibilities of using these recycled materials in the cemented base layers of roads. These options were verified and subsequently compared using laboratory tests. In the conclusion, there is an economic comparison of the use of recycled materials.
Study of the possibilities of using coarse aggregates from recycled concrete for the production of structural concrete
Voráč, Jiří ; Novosad, Petr (referee) ; Hela, Rudolf (advisor)
The master thesis is focused on the possibilities of using coarse recycled concrete aggregate as a substitution for coarse natural aggregate in structural concrete. Theoretical part of this thesis presents a literature review on the recycled concrete aggregate, mainly its production and use in structural concrete. Emphasis is placed on standards in Czech Republic, Europe and other countries of the world. Influence of recycled concrete aggregate on fresh and hardened concrete are also described. Experimental part is dedicated to determination of basic mechanical properties of recycled concrete aggregate and natural aggregate. Recycled concrete formulas and reference concrete formulas are also proposed. Proposed concrete mixes are subjected to tests for fresh and hardened concrete. The price of concrete mixes per 1 m3 is also described.
Study of durability of concrete with recycled concrete and brick
Voráč, Jiří ; Hela,, Vlastimil (referee) ; Hela, Rudolf (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with issues of recycled concrete. The theoretical part describes the process of recycling the construction and demolition waste and describes requirements for recycled aggregate and recycled concrete in Czech republic and some of the member states of EU. The experimental part is focused on design of concrete with a substitution of coarse aggregate with a recycled concrete and brick aggregate.
Possibilities of using recycled materials for the green roofs constructions
Skalková, Markéta ; Žák, Antonín (referee) ; Žižková, Nikol (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of using recycled building materials in the green roofs. It studies the history, function, benefits and negative impacts, composition, division and structural layers of green roofs. The work describes the production, application and common features of recycled building materials. It determines the basic properties of selected recyclates and evaluates their partial suitability as some of the layers of a green roof.
The possibility of using recycled concrete for the production of structural concrete
Pijáčková, Erika ; Křížová, Klára (referee) ; Hela, Rudolf (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis deals with the topic of recycled concrete aggregate and its use in the field of structural concrete. The aim of the work was to describe the possibility of complete or partial replacement of natural aggregates with recycled concrete aggregates for concretes of strength classes C16/20 to C30/37. The theoretical part is composed of findings from both domestic and foreign research and legislation, which were used to evaluate the possibility of more frequent use of recycled concrete aggregates in civil engineering in the Czech Republic. The experimental part consists of the design of concrete recipes with natural and concrete recycled aggregates and their economic evaluation.
Quality of the recycled aggregates to the roads
Sokolová, Veronika ; Pecha, Karel (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
Theoretical part of the thesis describes the production, properties and characteristics of recycled aggregates and the resulting assessment of the suitability of its use in the construction of roads. The practical part is focused on implementing the basic tests of aggregates according to applicable standards, such as bulk density, water absorption and resistance to crushing of aggregates. Tests are performed on fractions of the three types of recycled aggregate and then compared with the same results of tests on natural aggregates.
Recycled aggregate to pavement constructions of roads
Antošová, Klára ; Mondschein,, Petr (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with using of recycled aggregate of concrete for base layers of pavement. The work is divided into practical and theoretical part. The theoretical part deals with basic concepts of construction and demolition waste, production, development and management of this waste in the Czech Republic. It also focuses on the principle of recycling and the use of recycled concrete in the Czech Republic and abroad. The practical part of the thesis deals with laboratory testing and assessment of recycled aggregates in bound, unbound and grouted courses layers of the base layers of roads.
Unbound and bound mixtures from recycled concrete of highway D1
Mikulíková, Petra ; Mondschein,, Petr (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
The work is divided into two parts. The first part deals with the description of unbound and bound base layers and their comparison. Furthermore is presented the description of the recycled concrete, its properties, production, improvement and issues. International experiences with recycled concrete technology are described as well. The practical part is focused on laboratory testing of concrete recycled material taken from the highway D1. The aim of this part is to determine whether the concrete can be recycled back into unbound or bound base layers and concrete casing.
