Public law protection of a consumer of financial services in the Czech Republic

The thesis aims to specify means of consumer protection in financial services in the Czech legal system, to clarify their structure, assess efficiency and evaluate the extent to which consumer protection is provided. Main topic of interest is restricted within the purview of the financial ombudsman of the Czech Republic. The first chapter focuses on definition of instrument of consumer protection in financial services and their classification from a theoretical point of view. The next three chapters are devoted to a detailed depiction of consumer protection means in three segments of the financial market: payment system, consumer credit and collective investment. Legal provisions concerned with the Czech financial ombudsman are the matter of subject of the last chapter, which is accompanied with a brief analysis of functioning efficiency of this institution. Applied methods are interpretation of Czech legal framework, description of consumer protection instruments and basic statistical methods used for data comparison, which are the basis for general deductive implications. The paper pinpoints deficiencies of the legal provisions and its conclusions consist of suggestions in specific fields. The financial and legal aspects of alternative payment systems from the anti-money laundering prespective Abstract The aim of this thesis is to provide a general overview of the current state of alternative payment systems with regard to their inclusion in the financial market, their properties and potentials for wider use, and to evaluate their possibilities to more effectively combat money laundering, terrorist financing and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. In the first chapter, the thesis explains the broader context with regard to financial systems, especially within the money market systems focusing on retail, while providing a deeper explanation of the context of European law and Czech law. The second chapter is focused on closer analysis of alternative payment systems with regard to their use. Alternative payment systems are divided into two basic categories for centralized alternative payment systems and decentralized alternative payment systems. The category of centralized alternative payment systems corresponds to the current conventional financial market, taking into account the innovations that have emerged in recent years. Brno: Mendel University, 2017 This diploma thesis investigate marketing sales supports, used by businessman in materiál handling market. In theoretical part are identified differences in B2B market against B2C mar-ket. I studied different pricing tools in this enviroment. Some attention is given to price making and payment management. In the practical part are evaluated selling prices of goods. Next indicators are trading margin, operating cost and businessman profit. The next step is evaluating of marketing sales supports, especially discounts and assessment of these dis-counts in link with net sales. The next step in thesis is rating payment ma-nagement with subscribers and suppliers.

Kuchtová, K. Cyber risk of non-cash and electronic payment. Bachelor thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2017. The bachelor thesis is focused on cyber risk of non-cash and electronic payment. The first part of this thesis specifies the most popular electronic payments system and with that linked cyber risks. By questionnaire survey is then determined the extent and frequency of use of non-cash and electronic payment instruments. The survey also investigates the knowledge of users within the cyber security topic as well as the use of security measures and elements of individual instruments. At the same time, thesis should recommend steps to reduce the cyber risk.

Payment System and Role of the Financial Arbitrator

61 Abstract The Financial Arbitrator was established on the basis of European legislation to handle consumer's disputes on the financial market fast, efficiently and free. This thesis mainly focuses on its role in payment system sector with regards to new Act on payments and was divided into three main chapters. The chapter one aims at the development of legal regulations in last fifteen years in the Czech republic and explores grounds of separation from the Czech National Bank to establish the independent institution. Handling disputes may even result into achieving an amicable settlement, albeit its natural character does not meet the requirements of Administrative Code resulting as more informal resolution. The range of clients solely entitled to submit a claim was in recent years strictly restricted to consumers although competencies of Financial Arbitrator were extended. The author also analyses rules of the proceedings and educational activities of the Financial Arbitrator to lift financial awareness of consumers. The topic of the diploma thesis is cost optimization in the company. The concept of optimization hides the effort to modify costs in order to achieve the best economic result of the company. In order to properly analyze and subsequently design the necessary measures, it is necessary to obtain a theoretical knowledge of the costs. The first part of the thesis contains theoretical knowledge. The second part deals with cost analysis and concrete areas that are most suitable for potential savings. The last part contains suggestions that should lead to savings.
The value of money and financial literacy through the eyes of high school students

The bachelor thesis deals with the level of financial literacy of pupils of selected schools in secondary education. The aim is to determine the pupil's success rate in the questionnaire survey on financial education and, where appropriate, the readiness of pupils to make decisions in the life situation. The bachelor thesis consists of a theoretical part describing the theoretical basis in the field of financial education. Here is explained the concept of financial literacy and the way of implementation of financial literacy in secondary schools. The practical part contains research questions, quantitative research is carried out and evaluated in the form of questionnaire survey among pupils of secondary schools from the South Bohemian Region. Finally, recommended exercises or personal recommendations are included.
