Evaluation of the current status of the preparedness of the Czech economy for the common currency

Paper evaluates current status of the preparedness of the Czech economy for the currency Euro. It includes both aspects of the process, i.e. formal preparation and the real convergency. In the field of formal preparation the functioning of EMU is described, based on which current formal status of the czech EMU membership is assesed. The Maastricht criteria are considered part of the formal process as well. On the other hand, a range of real indicators, which are chosen based on various OCA resources is evaluated, giving the full picture of the current situation.
Preparedness of the Czech Republic to Accept the Euro

The present work deals with an evaluation of the position of the Czech Republic in terms of it's preparedness to accept the euro currency. The first part describes monetary union in general. The conditions of joining to the euro area are described, as well the criteria of OCA with an application on the euro area and also a short history of european monetary union are defined. The second part is focused on the Czech Republic. Nominal and real convergent criteria are evaluated in terms of the Czech Republic. The work attend also the present situation of global financial crises.

This work evaluates the current situation in the six member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council. The main areas of evaluation are the ongoing reforms, the proposed monetary union and the relationship with the United States. As for the reforms, the main focus is the transition from a closed to an open market economy and the mitigation of their oil dependence. Furthermore, the following chapter deals with an analysis of the Optimum Currency Area for the GCC region. Finally, the last chapter is aimed to provide a brief insight into the US-GCC relationship and its prospects in the near future.
