Cold spray technology as a tool for repairing of worn parts
Hevessy, Zoltán ; Heczko, Martin (referee) ; Doubrava, Marek (advisor)
Cold spray (CS), also known as cold dynamic gas spraying, is a state-of-the-art process from the thermal spray family, characterized by a combination of low temperature and high velocity of the particles, which makes coatings of sufficient quality for applications in many industries where other processes cannot be used, including repairs of civil and military aircraft and helicopters. The bachelor thesis presents a detailed description of this process, the influence of its parameters on the quality of the coatings, examples of repairs and evaluation of the mechanical and corrosion properties of the repaired parts.

Fanta, Matěj ; Vágner, Michal (advisor) ; Sýkora, Karel (referee)
Title: Physical load in simulated sustained military operations: a systematic review Objective: To create an overview and description of the physical load that soldiers undergo in simulated sustained operations. Methods: The method chosen to create this bachelor's thesis was a systematic review of literature and studies related to sustained military operations. The thesis was conducted according to the international PRISMA recommendations. Based on the aim of the thesis and the research question, a script was created to identify potentially relevant studies through the Web of Science, PubMed, Scopus and SPORTDiscus databases. To the systematically identified studies, studies from other sources obtained through non- systematic searching were added. Selected studies that met the predefined inclusion criteria underwent a methodological quality assessment, followed by processing and analysis of the selected data. Results: The systematic review included 42 studies with participation of 872 men and 69 women. However, a number of these studies were published based on data from larger investigations, or some of the articles were a continuation of previously published studies. In some cases, the protocols described were identical. For this reason, only 26 studies that followed different protocols are...
The GIUK's gap Geopolitical Importance
Prášil, Matěj ; Riegl, Martin (advisor)
The following thesis is focusing on the geopolitical as well as geostrategic significance of the GIUK Gap. In addition to an overview of the realist theories of international relations used in the analysis as such, the thesis includes a section devoted to the historical development of the geopolitical and geostrategic significance of the GIUK Gap, but above all an analysis of the current geopolitical and geostrategic significance of the once mentioned specific North Atlantic region. The analysis of the current geopolitical situation is written with an emphasis on the increasing importance of the area for NATO and the Russian Federation, whose interests have increasingly clashed in recent years, not only in this region. The aim of the paper is to demonstrate a causal relationship between the generally deteriorating relations between NATO and the Russian Federation following the annexation of Crimea in 2014 and the growing importance of the GIUK Gap.

Title: Motor testing of women in foreign armies: a systematic review Objectives: The thesis aims to create a quantitative review of motor tests used to test women in the military based on a systematic search of scientific publications. Methods: For the development of the thesis, the systematic review method was used following the PRISMA recommendation, which provides specific guidelines for conducting systematic reviews in the field of sports science. In order to construct the aim and research questions of the thesis, a search script was constructed according to the predefined keywords. According to the established script, the search was conducted in the citation and bibliographic databases Scopus, PubMed and Web of Science. Studies that met predefined criteria were used for data processing and subsequent synthesis. Results: The tests designed to assess physical fitness were divided into three categories based on the type of movement abilities. These were endurance tests, strength tests and tests of residual movement ability. The most common motor tests related to endurance ability were the 3,200-meter run, the 2,400-meter run, and, with equal frequency, the 1,600-meter run and the 270-meter run. Of the motor tests related to strength abilities, sit-ups and push-ups were the most frequent, with...

Tomášek, Vojtěch ; Maleček, Jan (advisor) ; Prokešová, Eva (referee)
Title: Prevalence and factors associated with the use of nicotine products in the military: systematic research Objectives: The main goal of this bachelor thesis is to use a systematic search of scientific databases to create an overview of the prevalence of nicotine use and how soldiers apply nicotine. Moreover, find out what factors may be associated with nicotine use. Methods: To create this bachelor thesis, the systematic research method according to the referenced selection of items per the PRISMA recommendation was used. After completing the research question and setting the thesis goals, a script was created through the scientific databases PubMed, Scopus and Web of Science according to pre-defined keywords. Selected studies that corresponded to the predetermined criteria were further used to prepare the data and their subsequent synthesis. In conclusion, the studies were evaluated in terms of methodological quality. Results: A total of 29 selected studies were included in the systematic search. A total of 25 studies addressed the prevalence of nicotine use, and the individual results of these studies indicated a prevalence of nicotine product use in the military environment that ranged from 10 % to 53 %. More specific prevalence rates for each study can be found in Table 1. A total of 9...
Endurance skills and their testing in the military environment: a systematic review
Matoušek, Ondřej ; Maleček, Jan (advisor) ; Vágner, Michal (referee)
Title: Endurance skills and their testing in a military: a systematic review Aim: This thesis aims to create an overview of the frequency of tests used to test long-term, total and dynamic endurance in military personnel based on a systematic search of scientific publications. Methods: A systematic search method was used to create this bachelor thesis, based on a referred selection of items according to PRISMA recommendations. After defining the research question and objectives of the thesis, a search script was constructed through predefined keywords in the bibliographic and citation databases Web of Science, Scopus and PubMed. Studies that met the predefined criteria were used for data processing and subsequent synthesis. Lastly, studies underwent a methodological quality assessment. Results: The most commonly used test evaluated was the 3.2 km run, which included 44 of the 131 studies included in this systematic review. This is primarily due to the numerous representation of studies from the USA and their Army APFT test. The next most frequently used test evaluated was loaded marching, which may have a more significant transfer to the military context. The most common distance was also 3.2 km, found in 19 of 131 sources, with a relatively diverse range of loads (15 - 44.7 kg), with the most...

Participants performed an individual warm-up followed by a protocol to determine the highest number of repetitions during two minutes. It was an absolute - extreme test. Emphasis was placed on adherence to standard testing, i.e., reliability and validity conditions. This was ensured by trained physical education staff and calibrated digital stopwatches. Data analysis was carried out in Jamovi 2. 3. 5. Normality was calculated using the Shapiro-Wilk test, and norms were based on percentiles. The sample of one hundred and fifty soldiers was divided into men into three age categories. Norms were developed for these categories on a four-point scale with excellent, good, fair, and...
Middle European Military Camps in 1550-1650
Andresová, Klára ; Šedivá Koldinská, Marie (advisor) ; Ďurčanský, Marek (referee)
The subject of this thesis is the problematics of the military camps of Christian armies in the Central Europe between 1550-1650. We focus on the camps of the Habsburg Monarchy and German lands, yet some space is given to the situation in Poland and Hungary. The introductory chapters consist of a characterization of the source material and an overview of the present state of research. Furthermore, excursuses into several topics related to the military camps of the early modern period are made. Thus, characterizations of the crucial war conflicts of the period, contemporary strategies and tactics, principals, composition and equipment of the armies, of the ranks, and of the life of soldiers are provided. The core of this work is an interpretation and comparison of treatises written by military theorists, who dealt with the problematics of camps, namely of the works by Jan Tarnowski, Guillaume du Bellay, Leonhardt Fronsperger, Lazarus von Schwendi, Giorgio Basta, Johann Jacobi von Wallhausen, and Raimondo Montecuccoli. Additionally, an analysis of the military orders of the Roman emperor Maximilian II and of the Swedish king Gustav II Adolf is supplied, followed by memoirs and diaries of soldiers of that era, and contemporary literary fiction. Although the thesis includes brief characterizations of...
